Friendly reminder for everyone to cancel Quickflix this week. Just cancelled mine now so thought I'd remind those in this thread.

  • Does anyone ever pay for quickflix? I dont know how they make money

They don't, they lose millions every year. With Netflix coming in March it will be game over by the end of next year for QuickFlix

    • They don't In fact they are in financial trouble.

Makes me wonder how they can afford to hand out lots of $20 free credit vouchers when they can't even raise the needed $5.7 million to get out of financial trouble.

Can I use the credit to buy shares? $20 could buy 4000 of them!

  • Does QuickFlix have anything decent/new that is not available on NetFlix/HuluPlus ?
Just wondering if its worth signing up for this, if I already have the 2 above.

As much as I would have liked a legal streaming service in Australia - I think it's a case of too little, too late.

Quickflix might be on the road to building a decent catalogue (slowly) and earning it's market share but most people I know are already streaming Netflix or Hulu (or both) and don't see the point in switching over.

With the marketing muscle and advertising budget behind Netflix, I think QuickFlix are in for a rough time. Really wish they'd gotten in the game sooner with a decent catalogue.

(Foxtel on the other hand - an insane ripoff - can go jump as far as I'm concerned.
The only worthwhile benefit to Foxtel is the live sport channels - everything else I can get elsewhere, with better quality and when I want it.)
