You replace the toner for the "ink" and in most cases with cheaper printer like these, it's cheaper just to buy another brand new one than to replace the drum (the DR-1070 is quite expensive)
EDIT: probably also cheaper to buy a brand new one than the toners too though lol

For toners, generics/compatibles are good alternatives at around <$20 for this model, I've had some that didn't work in the past though and having to need to use the printer the next day or two wasn't much help, so be weary of who you purchase from.
I've never tried toner refills before, so that may be a cheaper option, not sure on the reliability of it though. I've tried inkjet refills before which were a bit "meh", it depends on the brand and model really, some printers are more finicky than others.
I personally would just purchase another one of these brand new, saves me all the trouble, they come around $30-35 every so often and one can last a decent amount of prints, you can probably flog off used ones for $5-10.
Yeah it just feel wrong to throw the whole printer, I will check first if replacement toner and drum are affordable on ebay
The drum is the photosensitive surface for transferring the toner onto paper, look up how a laser printer works. Lasts several toner refills.
this type of printer goes to landfill after toner is empty.
Buy another one of the same….works out cheaper.

Seems it doesn't come with the USB cable. Should add another $10/15 for that.
I bought the HP 2540 from TGG for $30. Now that was a deal, decent quality and comes with everything in the box.
Hmm many people have spare AB cables already. Otherwise a couple of bucks from eBay.

It's usually <$5 for a USB printer cable from most computer stores, 99% of them are universal and will work on all printers.
I've been using the same USB printer cable from an old canon printer from 2004 to this day on all the new printers I've been using, so if you have a printer already, chances are you'll be reusing the cable anyways.
I just realised this one is laser, and only printer. Is there laser printer with copy fax and scan?
I prefer not inkjet because the cheap refill most of the time aren't good.Also I don't mind just monochrome no colours needed.
