I personally own one of these and they've been great so far. Perfect for Kodi/XBMC and come with it out of the box. It has a REALLY good custom launcher that works great with a remote so you don't need to deal with the stock 4.4 interface.

      Got mine yesterday. Very pleased so far. Had cropping from overscan, but found a setting to fix that.
      Added Plex and ABC iView. Stan refuses to run as it is rooted.

        I bought mine from Gearbest and it hasnt arrived yet.

        Hope the overscan wasnt because you are standing on your head.

          Previously I had an HTPC with native res, but the Android stick is sending 720P causing the old TV to crop, and TV has no setting to turn it off.

    So can anyone tell me, after installing Kodi can it handle 720p h265 or does it need a specialised build to hardware decode?

      How do you mean? It comes with XBMC loaded, and h265 works. Are you worried that updating to a newer version will break h265?

      Amlogic (M805?) is well supported in Kodi.

        Ah yeah, thanks for that, exactly what I was looking for.

        Yeah that's what I was worried about. When Kodi was released they said h265 was software decoded, so I thought the preinstalled XBMC was custom built to support h265 hardware decoding. Hadn't seen that chipset chart.

        I would need to update to Kodi as I run a centralised MySQL database for all my Kodi clients and they need to be on the same DB version

    Mine arrived from Gearbest today. Works very well, very easy to setup. i think the internet works better through this on our old panasonic tv than our new Sony smart tv.
    There is new firmware version at geekbuying.com but not sure if it is worth it to upgrade. Has anyone tried this?

      I am using a wireless keyboard and mouse (bought after ozbargain tip).
      The usb dongle plugs into the usb port on mk8088 and I can use the mouse and keyboard from the couch.
      The system finds the mouse and keyboard automatically without the need to install drivers etc.
      Actually i only use the mouse, I can do without the keyboard.

      I have also replaced the USB charger to an Australian certified one just to be safe.
      I also upgraded the system with the new firmware from geekbuying but I didnt notice any significant difference.

      The only problem I am having is that I can not access Channel 7 etc catchup since the device is rooted. Channel 2 and SBS work OK.
