  • Hoping for a good deal on a bodyboard… nothing.

    • +2

Want the best deal ever? Try your local freecycle. I was after a bodyboard a couple of months ago and found one at Aldi for $20. But then I thought so many people have them lying around unused in the garage so I restrained myself from buying and posted a request on my local freecycle - and got a response within an hour! It was in the exact condition the new Aldi one would've been in after the first use.

  • So any actual bargains or what…?

    • +2

Bargains, like beauty are in the eye of the beholder. For me NUTTIN', no bargains!

  • +4

Don't see any bargains. Just air.

    • Yep, no bargain here. Their sale prices is other shops regular prices.

      • In that case you'd be very interested in their beat it by 10% price guarantee?

        • +3

Must of Ananconda's stuff is their in-store brands; so you can't use the price match guarantee on it.

        • @jong: Some is, some isn't.

Is there a coupon code? When I add any item to cart it just comes up with regular price. Or is it instore only?

    • Same for me, nothing seems to be discounted at all.

Dont want none unless you got bargains

    They going under??!

    • I have no idea but I wouldn't be surprised. I only saw one for the first time a couple of months ago - are they a new chain?

Rays outdoors are always having sales so my guess is that it's not the strongest of markets.

But where will the bargain be for this to be considered a deal?

  • This may be a bargain Dune Ice Box Grey 86 L for $97.50, it's marked as being reduced from $150, but web history shows it as a former price of $339.99. I checked it a couple of weeks ago and remember it being between $150 and $180.

That said there are mixed reviews of the Dune brand Ice boxes, would love an opinion from any Ozbargainers that own one!

    • Just noticed it's out of stock on-line, so perhaps it's not a bargain either 😯

Nothing, what's a waste of time.

    Kings of the fake RRP

    • -2

Is that a fake statement or will you be providing a good set of examples?

      • As a lot of their products are only sold by them the RRPs are fake. They will stock a product for one week at a ridiculous price and then drop them a huge amount for the sale.

This bike for example is now about right price wise. The original RRP is in lala land and similar spec bikes can be bought for around the same money from any of the big retail brands- Giant, specialized, trek etc. And much cheaper from online retailers like Reid etc.

That's a big accusation you're making there fella but if you're convinced why not do your fellow consumers a favour and report them to the ACCC? The fact that their RRP's might not reflect the quality of the product being offered elsewhere or competitors' prices for "similar" products is basically irrelevant - although perhaps not if you're a naive shopper who believes in RRPs. Whatever you do don't go shopping for car tyres, you'll need a defib.

So to sum up. Reading between the lines, what you appear to mean is that on some of their "home brand" products (percentage unspecified), their RRPs are, in your opinion, inflated. I'd agree with that, but it's a totally different thing to your broad brush, exaggerated, and patently incorrect in many cases, one liner.
