Do you even read the page before commenting?

You should be used to that by now!

Do you even read the page before commenting?

Doesn't mention it in the title or description.

        • +1

Pretty safe to assume it's new then.. Or should all bargains mention "NEW" just in case you get confused?

  • +1

If its not refurb, what the heck does "as new" mean…. its either new or it aint..

    • +1

Generally it's when a business orders a bunch of them and then cancels their order.

      • Yep, exactly what it is. Custom orders can't be returned to the warehouses, so they have to go to the outlet.

  • Have anyone ordered any "as new" items? Are they factory sealed?

    • +1

      Yes, factory sealed.

    • +2

Have bought a bunch of pc's from the outlet and all were sealed. I took out 3 year nbd on site warranty just in case. Have had 1 mboard & 2 hard drive issues in 3 1/2 years - all fixed within 24 hours. Received excellent service from both Sales & support so will be looking to buy again from the outlet soon.

  • They look like different chip then listed on dell's website 2830 or 2840

  • +1

I bought a refurb ( not this model) and it was like brand new, in it's original box, sealed in plastic. No marks or problems, the only thing I could see was the charger was not in a plastic bag, it just had a tie around the lead ( maybe new are like that , I don't know).

I have read as new are exactly that, new items that were returned unopened.

I wouldn't hesitate buying refurb or as new from the outlet at all. Next buy will be from them again.

As for this deal, they always seem to have some of these models and they are always around this price, refurbs are about $100 cheaper.

Jb hifi have them if people want to look and play with one first.

    • +1

Same as me - refurb XPS 13 - not a single mark of visibility of use.

  • Can anyone comment, are these any good for day to day business applications.
    No games

    • +1

It's better for "on the go" use - the screen is a tad too small for all day use.

    • +1

11 inch screen remember, if you need portability and want to use as a tablet sometimes it will be fine. They also have a 13 inch model there, possibly better for you. They are plenty powerful enough for general internet, email, off stuff.

But if you are just after office programs and touch is not needed, they have a $239 15inch model that will do the job - different beast though, it is just a laptop not a foldable laptop/tablet.

  • Bought one for $369 last week. Not too bad of a little laptop. Battery life so far is pretty good, feels solidly built. Screens pretty goo quality. Could do with more ram.. And as someone mentioned, the processor is an older version compared to what the current ones are in the actual dell online shop. Jb still selling the old ones though.

    Intel dual core n2830.
Looks metal but actually a hard plastic, but no creaks etc. Only issue I had was the synaptics touchpad driver wasn't signed so had issues with it working properly (can't scroll or two finger detection) but a quick Google and how to install unsigned drivers solved that!

    • +1

Where did you get it for $369?

      • Dell outlet. Keep checking back

  • +1

Bought one of these as a refurb a couple of months ago for $329.

Great for basic functions, switch out the HDD for a SSD and runs super quick.

Also has AC wifi, I use mine for mainly downloading torrents, super fast.

Only negative is that the touchpad isn't fantastic, but only a minor inconvenience given it has touch screen.

    • Hi csingh, are your synaptic drivers working? I found once I fixed it, it was a lot better

  • Never ordered from dell before. It is normal for them not to be able to place order until outlet team are back on Monday? Thats what chat rep told me

    • Yep, outlet is completely separate from the main site & staff.

11" netbook with a celery processor for $449?? The screen doesn't even detach from the keyboard, it just spins

I wonder if they couldn't have shaved off the Wireless-AC to make it cheaper

    • +1

Buy the HP Stream 11 if you want a dirt cheap netbook.

This is expensive compared to other similar devices mainly because of the inclusion of the touch display, plus the fact that it also allows ram and HDD to be upgraded.

Most other brands like Acer and Toshiba have now gone with a non upgradeable design, you cannot remove the ram or add more in (soldered in) or remove the hard drive without taking the while chassis apart.

  • I just ordered one refurbished Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2 in 1 from this link for $349. There was only 1 available when I ordered. I will share my comments on the condition when it arrives.

    • Damn. Looks like you got in before me :) let us know how you go.

      • +1

Received last week, looks like new. no scratches. I did not understand the reason why the price was reduced for this one though

        • Good stuff thanks for the update. Im keeping my eye out for the next one to pop up!

  • Thanks! Bought one - AS-NEW. $409 with 15 still available. Will claim GST on TRS. Bringing cost to $370!
