Oh and you get the carh back latest by 4 December. so that date hasnt changed. Looks like Paypal is really looking to grab market share with all their cashback offers and also cash in on the rising australian $

  • Did everyone get the cashback for the last offer yet?

    • The cashback is not expected to arrive for a little while yet, or as they say, before the 4th of December

      • My experience of paypal cashback's is they basically come the day before last due day. So 4th December ones will probably be put in on 3rd December.

  • Still waiting for my orders to be delivered…

  • Nooooooooo . Have to buy more crap now .
Last paypal 20 back from 50 was an incredible deal .
I got a huge order from Eastbay . Shipping was 5 days and very reasonable
But yea still waiting for my dealextreme crap …

    • Me too, but I sort of expected that when i was buying genuine PS3 controllers

  • This offer seems to pale off in comparison as the previous offer is so much better. It's a good deal and I would have jumped in to purchase stuff if this deal was offered first. But meh…

True that. If they really wanted the moneys, they should have done it the other way around

  • Are these deals only for people who joined paypal.com.au or doesnt it matter which paypal site you joined thru.

    • As far as I know, when PayPal Australia launched, all Australians that registered through PayPal got transferred to PayPal Australia.

Ooh, it includes Book Depository this time. Are there any current discount codes for Book Depository as well?

  • Good deal, Wish Book Depository was included in the first one, still good 20% discount on purchases over $100AUD

  • Hmmm, for Book Depository, it directs you to the UK website… reckon the US site is included? Pricing on the stuff I'm after is better on the US site!

Edit: Just put the exact same items in my basket on the UK and the US sites… US$16.03 cheaper on the US site… after Paypal conversions, I'm pretty sure the cashback will make negligible difference =[

    • That's a good question - re: valid for US site to. Has anyone got an idea on this? Bunch of pre-orders i wouldn't mind putting in which would probably total >$100, but are a good 25-30% cheaper off the US site…

  • Awesome! Is this the best Book Depository deal yet?

  • I tip my hat to anyone who can spend $100 at DX in one go; a very decent effort. Maybe buying bigger ticket items, but it's always cables and connectors for me; had enough trouble hitting the $50 last time.

Money for (almost) nothing, always a good deal.

  • When you checkout and pay with paypal do you need to ask paypal to do the AUD conversion ? Or does it still work if I let paypal charge me in USD and let my Wizard mastercard do the currency conversion ?

  • 15% off 3 books or more at BetterWorld (finishes today) with this coupon: BOOKSTOREDAY09
Combined with the Paypal offer, this could make it worthwhile for some.

    Watch out for marketplace shipping though… it's now $7.97 a book! :(

  • Here was my DX shopping list. Beware, from my experience, most things > 10 bucks at DX are available for cheaper on fleabay…

  • did anyone get the cashback yet ?

    • I haven't got mine yet, even though I qualified the criterias.

      Anyone else?

      • Nup. I've called them a bunch of times. Different stories each time - basically amounting to a refusal to say when (and that's on the occasions they actually acknowledge responsibility - half the time they put it back on merchant (which is a different story to what they're telling the merchants themselves, of course)).

I'm in this offer, but have been chatting about it in the $20 back from $50 spent thread - both lots of $20 were due on December 4th and haven't arrived for many/most, and that thread seems to be a bit more active (re:what people have done/are doing to try to get their money).

As mentioned over there, i've lodged a dispute through the Financial Ombudsman Services. Your choice, but might pay to do the same (it's pretty easy - an online form). Haven't heard back from them, but hoping they'll be able to kick it out of PayPal where PayPal is just mocking my (and it's other customers) attempts.
