OP is 2 months late for the real bargain ;-) It was so good it was commented on in several deals. Report of stock available until end of January at that price.
I had a good laugh when that email arrived today. Paid $3.75 at Kmart after 5% PayWave rebate & $20 Cashback ;-) There was so much stock at the stores I visited in January. TGG were selling this for only a little more when $20 Cashback was available.
My local BigW still has the original $109 price tag on its stock. An OK entry level camera from Canon, but lacking in some features.
Decided to keep the $37 WiFi equipped Samsung from Kmart instead. 10 x the price! Has optical image stabilisation instead of software on the Canon, 12X instead of 8X zoom, USB charging (no extra charger & cable to carry when travelling unlike the Canon), and can see the camera's viewfinder & zoom / take / transfer photos on a smart phone. Makes it a good accessory to the phone.
No Optical Image Stabilisation on these.
if anyone in melbourne want this for cheaper price, I think a few guys on gumtree still struggling to offload these for just over $50 after their Kmart cleanup.
if they sell for 5.50 fair deal they can have a 10% markup
it's fun to watch these guys trying to recoup their easy money, they obviously overestimate gumtree's selling potential.
thinking of contacting one and offering them a sneaky fiver
