  • Need just one. Any deal on just the one? Sub $50 mark?

    • Not in these. $129 for the ZX110NC ones by themselves, there are other brands cheaper like TDK

You don't need 1 set of headphones; you need 1 friend.

      Need just one.

This deal is perfect for Tasmanians…

  • There have been so many headphone deals in the last year that I am overstocked :(
Been giving away UE4000's as gifts left right and centre, and each person in my household as multiple headphones (I have 3 myself). Would have liked some of these though….

    • Just looked them up, what an awesome looking gift!

    • It's a hard life for those overburdened by headphone choices.

    • Can you use all 3 at once? Or if you use the best set and have the others as a backup will you be ok with the drop in quality?

  • +2

Annoying you cannot plug them in to the standard jacks. Must use BT.
Would have snagged it up if you can use them on a plane or something

    • I've been looking for a good deal on NC headphones for plane travel too. 15% off headphones at Myer tomorrow, but excludes Bose I believe. Not sure if they stock any other NC models.

      • +1

I got the Wolfson DS-421D about 12 months or so ago, were around $90 delivered from memory and to me they seem quite good.

        • They are earbuds rather than headphones, I've always wondered about noise cancelling/isolating buds and the effect of pressure on flights. Have you worn them on a long haul flight? Were they comfortable enough and didn't leave your ear drums feeling like they want to burst?

        • +2

          @ejc84:
I fly a lot. Short and long haul. I prefer ear buds as a good compromise especially when having to carry them with onboard luggage. I find no issues with 'pressure' and I like not having the over ear headphones press on my ears. With in ear buds you need to ensure you can change the grommets to fit your ears. And for Short and medium haul flights in ear is so practical and convenient as you can slip them in a small pocket of your bag or even in your pocket. YMMV.

        • @nonpop:
Awesome, thanks for that. I prefer the long wearing comfort of buds too and the fact they are much easier to take around without having to worry about them breaking, think I'll stick with the noise isolating earbuds I have.

I got the Bauhn ones from Aldi for $20 on clearance (50% off). Awesome sound for the money. I've used them on 2 domestic flights, Brazil return and France return - haven't changed the batteries yet!

  • I'm in a south eastern suburb in Melbourne and I need only one. PM me if you are interested in sharing and I can get it for us. Thanks!

    • +1

      Gotten someone to share with.
      Glen Waverley: No stock
      Carnegie: 2-3 more
      Boxhill: 2-3 more
      Fitzroy ~10 more

      Thanks!

  • Unfortunately these don't support aptX (higher quality codec often use with Bluetooth) but they do have NFC for quick pairing.

  • Would jump on them right away if they were over-ear

    • +5

Mate you're doing it wrong, they're meant to go on your ear, not for you to jump on :P

      • That's why he needs the second pair after he has done that to the first pair.

  • No chord, no sale! Assume these would suffer the Bluetooth delay / voices out of sync when watching movies from a tablet etc, therefore only useful for listening to music.

    • Ive used plenty of Bluetooth earphones and they all seem to be the same.. I have a -0.2ms delay set in diceplayer and mx player and its not an issue…if on apple not sure if recent apps let you do the same…!!

      • +3

You can't possibly see/hear 0.2ms of delay particularly when a whole frame at even 50Hz is 20ms. Perhaps you mean 0.2s or 200ms.

    • I have a 'minor' problem with your spelling of 'chord'.

It isn't a 'major' problem not including a cord input, but I guess it's value is 'diminished' in your eyes.

      Sorry you feel so 'flat'.

I myself am in '7th' heaven!

      :)

      • +3

This is the '5th' time I've heard those puns. I think you should give it a 'rest' and 'augment' your puns with something more 'sharp' :P

        • If the wording isn't natural, it won't perfectly harmonise and the joke will fall flat. Then you may need to resort to a power chord to get some response.

    • You've got a point mate.Definitely not recommended for streaming on mobile devices.

  • Ozbargained. Out of stock.

    • Check in-store, they might have it and not reflected on the website.

  • Will this work with LG tv with NFC?

  • Gave these a miss due to only reason why i wanted was noise cancelling was for frequent airline travel, and can't use bluetooth on a plane. Just FYI for people thinking about wireless headphones for planes.

    • Why can't you use bluetooth on a plane? You can once the seatbelt sign is off…?

      • Flight mode turns off bluetooth (and all transmitting signals)

        • Specs say cable length 1.2M - so you don't always need to use BT - am I missing something?

Edit: cable length refers to the USB charging cable and not a standard 3.5mm?

        • Every single plane I recently went on, on my latest trip to Europe and the US had wifi on the plane and all but one (inter-US flight) you could turn turn your phone off flight mode and make calls and receive texts after the seatbelt sign had been switched off and until they announced it was time to prepare the cabin for landing(about 15 minutes before we landed).

My point is you can use these for your personal device for most of the travel time and you can pick up on of these http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-TT-BA01-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Players¡%C2%AD/dp/B004B8GF7Y/ref=pd_bxgy_e_text_y (as suggested by Amazon) for plugging into in flight entertainment.

        • Not sure what phone you have but on Windows Phone you can selectively turn on certain components. Given it's all SoC anyway I assume if you cut one you cut them all anyway.

        • @cyssero:
Being an SoC has little to do with it.

        • @MrMaxwell: I fly each week to work and back with Qantas, and most definitely they still say all phones must be turned to flight mode. Im sure turning BT on isnt going to bring down a plane, but rules are rules.

        • On my T9 if I select flight mode everything gets turned off…But..you can then turn on WiFi, Bluetooth etc while still in flight mode (just has no phone reception).

        • @damonop:

Understood. I was just referring to the cable specs and thought it was a 3.5mm jack cable however it seems this refers to the charging cable only.

Rules are rules however QF seem to have no issue with wifi beaming their Q Stream service all flight where available….double standards. Many folk use their wireless mice while flying and I've seen a few Bose BT users…the lines are getting blurred,

        • @Shonky: Cool, didn't know you could individually control the radios in the SoCs. Put my Windows Phone in flight node and it did allow me to choose each function separately.

    • Not sure about Qantas, but Bluetooth is allowed in airplanes, you just have to turn it on manually after your phone goes to flight mode (At least from my last travel in Feb, the booklets were saying that they are allowed, though not during take-off and landing.)

  • 96.8% reduction in sound is a very misleading way of stating the spec for this sort of device. This is only about 1/30th of the original or about 15dB the way I read it. 96.8% sounds so much better (no pun intended)

  • will these work on my playstation?

    • +1

They'll work on the PS3 I believe, but I tried the PS4 last night with no luck.

Audiomotion x9 bluetooth headsets for about $20 from CPL online. Sounds like a goood deal to me.

  • I picked up a pair on Adelaide St in Brisbane despite none showing on the website (it wasn't even listed in their products apparently). There was 1 more pair when I left, if it doesn't have stock online it might be worth checking in store.

  • Got some at the Fitzroy store but they were not on the shelf.
Also, the single packs don't read on their barcode scanners. If you're patient and show them the ad they will track down the last couple of boxes.

  • Just read all the comments, also looking at getting some NC headphones, Bose Q25s look the best so far. I encourage anyone with any experience on this topic to share plis thanks!

    • Bose and OzBargain do not mix too well….only when that rare Bose sale occurs or pricing error. These Sony phones are certainly not class leading but at 2-for-$99 they are a good buy.

Phones are personal and everyone has their own idea of what sounds good. Bose have a good sound but I like my phones to be a little bit warmer with more bass. Bose are a little too crisp for me, however their soundlink mini BT speaker is awesome.

      • Woops this reply should be here:
I am mostly focused on the noise cancellation, one of the main uses will be listening to audiobooks and possibly meditation stuff sitting on the balcony and watching cars and trucks go by on my very busy road.
From what I've experienced in shops QC25 is the best but I can still hear a disappointingly large amount of noise, unlikely to block out my street traffic completely :(

    • I've just got myself some QC25s will be interesting to see how they compare to the QC15s

      • Thanks for the replies, keen to hear how the 25s and 15s compare.

        • Really? Maybe the battery was low… The pair I tested with music was excellent. I'll post a full review on my blog soon

  • Just bought a pair. Great price. Four more pairs at Joondalup (WA) but not on display (had to ask staff).

  • +2

Hey guys. If you have bought a pair could you come back and let us all know what they are like for future buyers :) Cheers

  • I've picked up a pair a few hours ago at officeworks Fitzroy [Vic]. They had about 5 - 8 instock as the system doesn't scan them as $99. Plenty of singles as well which they were pairing up.

    ice

  • Anyone who has bought them wish to comment on the quality of the headphones?

  • Grabbed one pack from Preston in the arvo and tested them out in the night. I'll return them tomorrow since the ANC is totally a joke! I used airplane sound effect to simulate the flight sound and it just doesn't do that job at all. I don't recommend this earphone if the ANC matters to you.

  • I just picked up the last box at OfficeWorks Pitt Street Sydney. Thanks OP. I will have a listen today and post a sound quality review for those interested. I just need to work out what colour for me, and which one for my wife.

    • +1

Ok, Wife picked the red, no surprises there. I have had a listen. The sound quality is OK for the price. Nothing amazing but to be expected for $50 each.

The noise cancelling function is pretty limited. Tried them at work and it cut out the whirring of the aircon but no other noises around me, but I suppose that's the sort of thing you'd want on a plane.

  • +2

Just saw these at the airport for $178 ea duty free!! Not sure if they're worth that…Anyhow just about to take an 8hr flight so I'll report back tonight with my thoughts.

    • I too saw them for $178 ea duty free - I regret not getting the pair for my recent flight! In-ear headphones with no NC did not block out the crying kids and wires getting tangled was very annoying.. these would have been perfect.

  • Just picked up a pair at Officeworks Mackay. Not on the shelf but asked and they found them on the their back dock.

  • Thanks OP, picked up a pair at Chrinside Park VIC. They had another pair on shelf at 1pm today.

  • Anyone in Sydney want to share 1 pair? My brother wants to buy, but he doesn't need 2. PM me if you are interested as I need to pick up tomorrow afternoon from the store.

    Thanks

    • +1

never mind, my other brother wants it. :)

  • anybody has an extra they want to sell of?
