    • Agreed with your remarks. I've called up the Auburn store (NSW) yesterday arvo and I was told that it was available for pick-up.

So please do call up your designated store and confirm stock availability.

Still no sign of the $50 Paypal rebate yet though… =(

  • I would say once you have your item, then you will receive the cashback.

    • nope… not me…

received mine but no cashback yet

  • Hi all,

As per the original posts, the cashback will be up to 4 weeks after the promotion closed. We have a fair amount of paperwork to raise once all orders have been fulfilled. It will happen but please be patient.

A reminder - the cashbacks will be made to your PayPal accounts used to purchase the iPods.

    Thanks,
    Spelter

  • sorry guys i made a mistake, i haven't received my refund yet (i had $50 already in my paypal account that they used as well as my credit card payment)
so yeah, i've got my ipod, but not the refund…

  • zyoom! It says on my order status 'confirmed', however the 'delivery date' is set for the 30th November - Does that mean I shall receive it on the 30th? Or It will be shipped off on the 30th?

    • This is the date we are expecting to deliver it to you.

      Thanks,
      Spelter

  • i received mine before the 'delivery date' .. i think it depends on color availability… i got green and ordered relatively early

  • Just got this email this morning…

You should have received your order by now and we hope you are happy with your products. If there is anything we can do to help please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to be of assistance.
If you have not received your order please let us know as soon as possible so we can assist.

Looks like I'll be giving the store a call later today to see if it's available for pickup

  • REFUND! REFUND! Where are ya?!

    • it hasn't been 4 weeks yet. :)

  • I haven't received my refund aswell.

  • I understand it still hasn't been four weeks yet, but I too haven't received my refund.

  • haven't received mine either :(

    • Hopefully will get it by tomorrow as it'll be 4 weeks since we all hammered the Clive Peeters site

  • love the nano though. especially the effects on the camera. awesome deal.

  • hey its been 4 weeks now and I still haven't received the $50 refund. :S
    how about you guys?

    • Hi,

We are working on this. Before everyone posts that they haven't received this the terms were '4 weeks from end of the promotion' not 'from when ordered'.

I am trying to get ETA on when this will happen.

      Cheers,
      Spelter

      • Hi Spleter, Is there any chance for you to chase our cashback? thanks.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but the absolute last date is 15/12/09 (which is Tuesday next week)

    • Correct

  • Still waiting… let's see how they work it out! what happen if I don't receive the refund??

  • cashbacks offers all seem to push the final deadline. I had a 100$ paypal cashback from webjet once, waited till their "promised" latest date, nothing. Got it the day after.

Same with the Paypal shop-overseas $20 cashback offer. got it just a few days ago, also nudging the final deadline i think.

so… lets just give clive peeters a little more time. i'd be more annoyed than worried, if the cashback doesn't come by 15/12.

  • Why does it take so long? ….. is it really so hard to process cashbacks?

Or do they prefer the money to be sitting in their bank for the absolute maximum time to earn interest

    • $10 on the latter

      • +1

        5.5% on the latter

        • do you guys really think they care about the miniscule amount of interest the sale would generate?
Maybe it's because it is a labour-intensive job as it's their first time … so it takes time for someone to process or verify it all. It cannot be automated unless someone codes it to be automatic, which could also take time. etc etc. Maybe they're losing money on the cashback (the money has to come from somewhere!), so they can't afford to pay more people to process things more quickly.

It just seems quite unlikely that a large company would put the money and effort into running such a campaign, just so they can hold a small amount of money for an extra two weeks to earn a miniscule amount of interest.

          • +1

            @eug: well that wouldn't make sense either…

No one as far as I can tell have recieved their cashback? So how are they going to expect their people to send them all out on monday? (which is the last day of the terms and conditions that we agreed to)

          • @eug: What you're saying may be true, but its also rather naive to think that they couldn't have paid out the cashback sooner.

I suppose you also think the 3-day cheque clearance time for the typical bank is also due to it being "labour intensive"?

            • @kimmik: kimmik - I would give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they can't do it sooner as it would cost more to rush everything. They're giving us $50, why complain even if it does end up being a little bit late? As long as it isn't ridiculously late, I wouldn't mind getting free money.

And yes, cheques are "labour intensive". The cheque has to be physically transported to the other bank. Read:
              http://www.bankers.asn.au/Default.aspx?ArticleID=612
              http://money.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=260996

Cheques are so passe anyway. Electronic transfers are the way to go. They're … far less labour-intensive. :)

they are really pushing it for this one

    • +1

Give these guys a break. By the looks of things they've never done something like this before, with all the problems people have been having (server crashes, slow delivery times, people buying the nano through the wrong page, etc) … as such I'd be very surprised if they get such a large task done on time.

      • In which case, perhaps they should have promoted a more realistic timeline for people to get their cash back.

      • +1

They keep repeating that it will be 2-4 wks as per terms and conditions (refer to the posts, this is always cited). They are a business and as such have responsibilities. If they cannot meet these responsibilities, the least they could do is to communicate this to us. I'm hoping this is not too much to ask for. I'm a very reasonable person, but I don't like being kept in the dark as to when I should expect things to happen.

        • Fair enough. I'm sure Spelter is working frantically behind the scenes. Personally I don't mind waiting a little longer for such a bargain.

  • Yeah still waiting on my cash back too. Hopefully they can get it done soon.

  • +1

i think some ppl need to be a bit more patient. i mean you got the nano for one hell of a price so just give them a few more days to sort it out. i would think they probably have a few 1000s of these nano orders to go through.

  • I dont think its that tough of a job to run a report that indicates people who purchased ipod thru paypal on xyz date……not rocket science….

I guess if paypal are responsible for gathering the data and applying the refund then we might be waiting along time for that to happen, seeing all the problems they are having with 20 cashback with 50 spend.

Maybe they need some new database gurus working for them….

Paypal need to get their act together….

  • Email received confirming +$50 Paypal funds!

    • +1 =D

…now I'm waiting for PayPal to honour my DealExtreme cashbacks and for Bonds to send me their cashback for the undies =P

      • Same here! Just in time too. Take that, worrywarts. hehe..

I got my dealextreme paypal cashback last week btw.

        • Yeah I got one of my DX cashbacks last week…I've contacted PayPal regarding the other ones and they've said that they'll send the rest of my cashbacks soon (here's hoping).

  • oops misthreaded reply

  • got mine this morning :)

  • Eug, i think the fact that everybody (presumably) got their cashback on the very deadline of the terms and conditions, says a lot about the nature of the 4wk wait - that it was intentional and planned, not labour induced.

    To recap:
Clive peeters paypal cashback - received on Final Day
DX Paypal cashback - received on Final Day
Webjet NZ paypal cashback - received on Final Day

Great ipod deal. Big credit to clive peeters.

    • Really? So it has nothing to do with making sure everything is in order, giving themselves as much time as possible before the deadline, before giving a large amount of money away?

When you do an assignment, do you submit it the moment you put down the final full-stop, or do you take the time to proofread it, leave it for a few days and come back to review it with a fresh mind, see if your ideas are coherent, etc?

They could have had things in order, waiting for the final day, checking to make sure things are correct, to avoid something like Virgin Blue's free-velocity-gold upgrade saga, where everything was in order but the wrong email list was selected.

You seem to think these things are easy-peasy, run a sql query and taadaa, the list is done, just shove that into paypal and everyone gets their money. You probably haven't dealt with the accounts department of a larger company - especially one who just recently got scammed by their own staff. Giving money away isn't as easy as snapping a finger and everyone gets their money. If you're a little shop with a small number of orders and you personally overlook or control everything, then sure, it's easy. But with a larger company, there will be more checks and balances to go through.

p.s. and as you can see, not everyone got the DX refund "the last day".

      • I'd say it has more to do with someone earning as much interest on the funds as possible until the last possible moment. Eg. why do banks take 2-3 days to transfer your funds to another bank by electronic transfer? So they earn a fews days interest on your money during the 'transfer'.

BTW Thanks to Clive Peeters for a great promo!

        • Sure, that's a possibility. None of us know anything as a fact - we're all guessing. But not everyone is out to 'get you'.

Banks take 2-3 days? I pretty much always get mine the next day. Two days at the most, but I can't even remember when that last happened. I just got an amount put in to my account from another bank yesterday. It happened overnight.

Why do so many people here think everyone is out to get them? Everyone thinks they're a victim. There is apparently no such thing as checks and balances, batch processing, or error checking… so all transfers should occur immediately.

Stop being so pessimistic, everyone! Not everyone cares about your money! :)

Complain complain complain… people complain even when they just got a great deal on an item and the shop gives them free money within the timeframe they specified. Some people really are just impossible to please.

*note - i'm not referring to those who just mention possible reasons, i'm talking about those who actually are complaining

          • @eug: I dont think anyone complained at all. you're the only person complaining, because you think other people are complaining.

we all think this was a great deal, so dont talk as if you're the only reasonable person here.

            • @kimmik: No one complained? Just scroll up.

I dont think its that tough of a job to run a report that indicates people who purchased ipod thru paypal on xyz date……not rocket science….

After all that, they did pay the cashback within the timeframe they stipulated at the start. Yet, people were still complaining. Hrmmmmm.

              • @eug: I am not complaining, ITS A FACT producing a report is not difficult…

As there was no concrete date they were going to give the cashback ie 10 December it was a 2-4 week period, it is quite understandable that people within that timeframe are questioning where their cashback is. One would expect that the cashbacks would have been staggered over the two week period, instead of at the last day….

Communication, definate answers and taking responsibility are some of the key factors in having a successful business.

I am rapt about the deal CP offered and I am sure they have learnt alot about this promotion to make their next offers are smooth.

I again say Paypal have alot of problems with their cashback offers. I can only hope in the future that they have their staff and systems in place to handle the problems that have occurred especially with the spend 50 receive 20 cashback deal.

                • @life is a little crazy: Yes, producing a report isn't difficult. It's what comes after, that takes time, in a larger company.

After all the bad press about cashbacks in the papers, I would have thought everyone would be used to expecting the worst when it comes to processing cashbacks. If they say 2-4 weeks, I would expect 4 weeks and not 2. If it comes earlier, hurrah! It's always very easy to give money to a company but understandably very difficult to get any money out. Checks have to be put in place to reduce the risk of dodgy employees ripping the company off.

At least Spelter did keep us updated throughout the process.

They really shouldn't have said 2-4 weeks… saying 4 weeks from the start would have kept everyone at bay. But at the end of the day, they kept their word (hopefully everyone will get them today!), and it's their first time after all. Their next cashback offer will probably just say 4 weeks. heh..

  • Hi,

After a few busy days we have pushed out all the cashbacks. If you are still waiting please do make contact so we can unpick the issue: http://www.clivepeeters.com.au/help-and-support/contact-us.a…

Thanks for bearing with us. Have a great Christmas.

    Cheers,
    Spelter

  • Website under maintenance :(

Will try again later - I still havent got the cashback.

    • ditto - "ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved" - so much for support…

I certainly bought from the right page (I took screen shots of the whole process). Although I do have a gmail address, and perhaps its as jps433 says?

  • I have finally got the cashback. All's well that ends well.

  • Called the online support team this morning. Same issue as jps433 but they've fixed it now so the cashback came through.

Amount in was $50 but for some reason there's Fee amount: -$1.50 AUD deducted straight away eventhough the money is still in paypal account (not transfering to my bank) anyone is having the same???

Great deal nonetheless though. Thanks Clive Peeters!

    • Yes i got the same problem in regards to the $1.50 its a fee paypal charge when you have money put into your account, however i dont believe it should have been charged as its a cash back but im not going to ring up and be put on hold just for $1.50

  • lol know exactly what you mean jps433. weird paypal charged that but oh well. still great deal :)

  • Called 1300 338 366, they said wrong email address.
They fixed it and cashback went in right away. got charge $1.50 from Paypal.
Bit weird that we have to call them :(

  • Was waiting for my refund too and nothing came, so sent em off a quick message using their online contact form. Got a response within 24 hours saying they had made a mistake in my paypal email addy (they had put in ".auu" instead of ".au"). Money appeared in account straight away, minus $1.50. Not really chuffed with hidden fees, but not gonna kick up a fuss over such a small amount.
