    Can we please have some clarification about the different pages mentioned by kimmik.

    As I am not sure which page I purchased thru, as the site was experincing problems.

    I assumed that any purchase of the IPOD thru Clive Peter site paying by paypal would give you the cashback automatically, now after reading Kimmik post, its made me wonder that maybe I might not of purchased it from the right page.

    I would also assume that the sales for ipod that customers have paid by paypal all customers would be expecting the $50 credit.

    Can we confirm wether it needed to be the specific page or are they going to honour all paypal transactions for ipods.

    If they are only going to honour the purchase from the specific page, how can we confirm that our transaction is eligible for the promotion.

      life, i think if you clicked the link the poster gave, and ordered through that, you'll be fine.

      if instead you ordered by searching for ipods in the homepage, then you might be disqualified.

      but judging from that you experienced problems loading the checkout pages, i'd say you were on the right page lol. the non-promotion pages of ipod purchases did not have any slow down problems today.

    I think I might of ordered from somewhere else, as I have just looked at the page, and I had the black one on the left hand side, oh it was so frustrating as when I ordered it first and then checkout it dropped the item from the cart so who knows where I ordered it from.

    And obviously I have purchased this in order to take advantage of the cashback, and would be very disappointed if I do not receive the cashback.

    I hope Spelter can shed some light on this matter…I would hate to wait the 2-4 weeks and not receive the cashback.

    Thanks Anthony, but how can you confirm which page you purchased it from, due to the site dropping my item as I checked out, dont think I went back to the paypal offer, think I just clicked on IPODs. Guess will have to wait to Spelter can clarify this…

      Can Clive Peeters just treat their two ipod nano webpages as the same? They are the same price and everything. If not I recommend those who are unsure or who have purchased from the wrong page to call Clive Peeters, cancel their order and re-order another one from the right page. (but this of course would create more work for everyone involved)

    Got one at OW for $118.

    It was with great deal of effort put in my one of the customer rep. So I am not pushing my luck and putting which store. But yes, you could get that if you approached it in a positive manner.

    OW had said to me that they do not price match cash back as it is from the manufacturer and everyone would get the deal. I pointed out that in this case the retailer is offering cash back, and the offer said that Paypal is not responsible for the offer.

    As OW price is $168, they did not price match it, but gave me the same offer, ie. $50 off. So I got it for $118, which is lower than the price match ($179 - $50= $129 less 5% = $6.45 = $122.55). I am happy man.

    I also returned my G4 8 gig nano, which I bought from them for $141.55.

    Please don't ask me anymore questions, as I don't want to create problems for the guy who gave me the deal. See if you guys can independently negotiate with the OW stores. I hope everyone appreciates my concerns for the OW person.

      Try the other OW stores.

      What reason did your local OW give for not matching it.

      I had interesting reasons given to me, one store said that as all cashbacks are from the manufactuer and everybody gets it, they don't pricematch it. When I said that this is a cash back from the retailer, he backed off and asked me to come to the store and he will see if he can match it. Another store I called said that he would not match it as their price is lower than CP, and cashback from retailer does not count.

        All that effort to save $11 - what about your time, and travel expenses going from one OW to another?

        Regardless of cashback or no cashback ….. OW should NOT have price-matched for you … because $129 is not the PRICE!!!!

        It is the "net cost" to you AFTER the cashback … which requires you to meet certain conditions.

        The "price match" should be matching CP's PRICE ….. which is NOT $129 ……. it is $179

      Went to two OW in Sydney and the second they heard "cashback" they said no.

      Then dropped into CP which was just next to OW to see if I could collect my order. Even though I hadn't received a "ready for pickup" call they still managed to dig one out from the back. Good work CP.

    I've just noticed the terms and conditions have changed on their website… it no longer states that you have to buy from that page. I rang their customer service this morning and asked them if you had to buy through their specific page and was told as long as you didn't use any other offer (like free shipping) then you'll get the $50 cashback. Still not 100% convinced though as it's not in writing.

      I am not interested in getting a negative or a positive vote. I have stated my reasons for not uploading my receipt. I hope you would understand. As you can clearly see, no one else has been able to get that offer.

      To answer Proudwanderer. It is OW staff which pointed out to me that the terms and conditions say that paypal is not responsible for the offer. Which in effect confirmed that CP would be giving money back. And payment method, in what way is it different from GG saying - pay less, pay cash. At the end of the day that is the price the retailer is offering you. How is it different from a retailer selling the memory cards for $22 and giving you $11 rebate. Well the buyer would pay only $11.

      If you feel sad for Australian retailer, please do some research on the prices overseas. Usually we Australians pay way too much than the rest of the world. Window7 is a case in point.

      To be fair OW also allowed me only one purchase at that price. I did not press for another buy. I bought for my use, not selling on ebay.

      I am not sure that I got your maths right. I believe I have saved $50 ($168 (OW price) - $50). I did not understand where your got the $11 from.

      BTW OW is on the way to work and home. I have bought a fair few things from them in recent past. So I have a rapport with the staff.

      If there is any possibility of extending this promo, PLEASE do it!!
      Seeing it here on Ozbargain has made me look up the reviews on this unit and I am really impressed. It's the first iPod I have really wanted.
      The goodwill and customers through the door it must have generated for CP is huge. Right now I am not even sure where my nearest CP store is (Bentleigh Vic) I assume Southland, but I certainly would if I was heading down there to pick up my shiny new G5 nano….
      Which sadly I am not because I missed out by hours on the promo.
      So pretty please, please with cheese, bring this back if you can!!!

        It won't be back no matter how much you beg….

        If you really like the iPod Nano … just get it at Harvey Norman or Officeworks for $168 - more expensive, but no need to deal with paypal, you get it immediately and no waiting, and no waiting around for the cashback to be in paypal account, and more waiting to withdraw it and paying paypal $1 for the privilege to withdraw your own money!

        These prices are most likely due to christmas sales, and probably won't stay for long as RRP is $199

    You can get pretty excellent copies at Focalprice for ~$40 ;p but I think with an iPod, it's all about the texture/finish/lovely pocket ornament factor.

      Also, if you're going for the China ipods, consider the build quality/durability. Most genuine ipods should last 2 or 3 years, provided you treat it well, but you are probably lucky to get a year out of china ipods. In general, no name Chinese suppliers will use cheap parts, and it will show in the product sooner or later.

      sigh.. some people are impossible to please! Fact of life - you want good service, you pay for it. You get what you pay for. You're already getting a sizeable discount, you should accept a slightly-longer delivery period. Do you expect a salesman to spend hours with you at a store when there's a huge sale going on? C'mon, you've gotta give and take a bit. If you want something quick and on the spot, go pay full price.

      Slow service is unacceptable to you? Providing fast service when selling at such a discount is probably financially unacceptable to them. Not happy? Shop elsewhere… let someone else save $40.

    Hi all,

    Just wanted to let you know if you have requested to pick one up from the store, chances are they are available, as I just rang up and mine was ready to be picked up. I think they have been very overwhelmed with the offer at store level and just havent got around to ringing everyone.
