  • Cheers Trent is the Samsung UA48H6400AW good for gaming (Vs say the Sony 700B or 800B) ?

    • -2

in my opinion, sony is always king for gaming

      • -6

        Cool story bro lol

        • +1

          It's just one fella's opinion.

Anyhow, my opinion: It's a monitor… should be no issues, for non serious / casual / whatever gamers.

        • +2

@inose: My comment was more about him claiming a TV is "king" for gaming.

Someone should introduce PC gaming monitors to him.

        • @holden93:

arguments can be made for both….monitors are small and immersive, whereas TVs are on a grander scale.

        • +2

@nathan-drake:Only thing tv's have over monitors is there big enough for a lounge room or large bedroom everything else goes to PC monitors.

        • @holden93:
yeah basically true, although some TVs have extremely good colour reproduction and viewing angles

The 70" Sharp at that price point is amazing!

  • How many CTECH20 deals need to be posted?

I can vouch for that Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Amazing price.

    And amazing tablet too.

Should I feel bad right now? I got mine for around $450 during the Christmas sale… which was a bargain back then as well…

    • +1

I think you've got your monies worth, 3 full months of usage for that $44 extra

      • Yep that justifies it, thanks!

Yeah, amazing tablet indeed. Took it travelling with me, and it's VERY good for what you get.

        e.g.

        • Larger screen than the iPad 2 (and higher resolution than the 'Retina' display), but lighter and thinner (? or as thin, definitely not thicker).
        • Multitasking, with Samsung's Multi Window (2 apps running at the same time).
        • Screen = the best at the moment in my opinion, period. When it's black, that portion of the AMOLED screen is 'off', so it's pitch black. Also good for battery consumption (black wallpaper). Also, it's very vibrant.

        Yep, very nice.

        • Thanks for the feedback.. I am on the fence to grab this or go iPad Air 2..

          Apparently Sammy will be using a new ratio on the next gen;

          http://9to5google.com/2015/01/20/samsung-new-tablets-2015/

        • @Samantha93:

Oh yes, yeah not a fan of that ratio… Doesn't make sense, especially on a Samsung tablet (because you have Multi Window).

You might also want to consider the Xperia Z2 tablet.

          • It's lighter than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (and so of course, the iPad Air 2. They are both very manageable though)
          • It's water resistant if that matters.
          • It's also got front facing stereo speakers (vs side mounted stereo speakers on the Tab S, and the bottom speaker on the iPad 2)

          Some cons:

… You get Sony's 'Small Apps', which are sort of like Samsung's Multi Window, but from experience it's nowhere NEAR as useful as Samsung's implementation. E.g.

          • I like to YouTube and Chrome at the same time; you can only do this with the Tab S. (You can't multitask YouTube on the Sony.)
          • Sony's multitasking apps are… kind of useless in my opinion. E.g., a countdown timer, a window of your Chrome bookmarks as if that helps, a calculator… all useless but there.

          Other cons:
          * You don't have an infrared module on the Z2 tablet, so you can't control your TV with your tablet (but you can with the Galaxy Tab S).
          * Smaller screen (I think it's comparable to the iPad Air 2 though).

…but the Z2 tablet is there. It's lighter than both, and if I couldn't get the Tab S, I'd be disapppointed, I'd go for the Sony for it's weight.

    • Can you recommend a keyboard/case to go with it? (I see Logitech has some great deals on them for Ipad air 2 right now, wondering if there's an equivalent!)

    • hey Guys can anyone confirm that I would be able to make calls with the 3G version of this tablet.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-TAB-S-10-5-1-9GHz-…

It's here and with a bluetooth headset, can it work as a backup phone?

      THanks,

      • Hmm turns out this one is a Factory refurbished one, not brand new,

Can't find a Brand new 3G / 4G tablet anywhere on Ebay from Dicksmith or Good Guys,

Also can someone tell me where do you apply the coupon code ? I added the item to cart but still could not find a place to add a coupon in there. Can someone please explain.

        Thanks,

  • The guy at JB HiFi yesterday offered me the 70" Sharp LC70LE951x for $2136. It's a 200HZ tv, but I've heard that the "Smart" TV features aren't that smart :-). Any thoughts on, or experiences with this TV?

    • +1

Not work that TV, but "smart" features in general are… Not very good, and can become outdated. Don't buy a TV for its smart features. Better off buying a dongle, and replacing that when it's outdated.

      • yeah I tend to agree. An Android TV stick is probably going to be more flexible, and you can take it with you :-).

      • Yeah smart features are only now starting to get better with the new line up of TV'S But LG 6500 Are pretty good smart set up

    • I own this tv and love it. There's a few dead pixels and bright spots, but other than that, its great.

      • Thanks - good to get some feedback. How do you find the Smart TV features?
The dead pixels, etc - is that a common experience across all TVs?

        • No smart features and not sure about how common dead pixels are, sorry

    • Did you use the 2% cash reward thing?

  • hi guys, does anyone know whether goodguys store will match price with ebay store?

i bought samsung ua48h6400 20 days ago. I'm thinking to claim with their 30 days price promise. could you please share any tips?

  • Had problems trying to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8" 16GB - said it was sold out and then got a bunch of errors trying to do click and collect. Tried again recently though and got through! If you've had troubles try again - they may be restocking or something

    • Just bought the same tablet and was able to collect in their Alexandria store literally 30 mins after payment was made. Super fast.

  • The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8" 16GB comes up as $407 + $5.18 postage !

    • did you put the code in at checkout?

    • Looks like $279 now

  • Bought a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 for $406. Great bargain - Thanks Trent!

$1200, less 10% more when I go overseas next weekend bringing total to $1080. Let's hope they deliver in time!

    Pretty good value for a IPS screen, 13', 5th GEN i7, 8GB, 256gbSSD.

    • Was after the XPS, but they put the price up $200 just for the sale.

The description still has the original price… bastards…. but for a little more bulk, weight and no QHD screen (which is silly on a 13" display the 2-in-1 is probably the better deal.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-XPS-13-5th-Gen-Intel-Core-i7…

    • GST is not 10% of the sale price. It's 1/11 or about 9.09%

However usually with these deals the invoice shows the full amount and PayPal/ebay kick in the 20% discount.

So you'll get 1/11 of the original $1499.

  • does anyone know whether goodguys store will match price with ebay store?

      • Dead pixels and bright spots don't really fill me with confidence

She's going to hate that :(

        • @bjorncyz:

Hmm. I can always give the hubby the 8"

Now.. Is the 10" a good price at $408 or is there a cheaper 4G version on ebay too, hehe?

        • @Samantha93:

Ok Samantha, I just bought a Galaxy tab 8.4 4G from Gumtree, for 360 $ yesterday,

Looks like many people got the optus plan with the free tablet and are now offloading the tablets online, The price for the 8.4 Especially will drop some more, making it greater value.

So if don't mind 8.4" i'd recommend you wait and buy one in sealed pack from Gumtree, it will be cheaper than ebay.

      • Damn, you are right, damn damn. I was going to buy one. How can these people get away with it ? Well they can and they have and we are the ultimate suckers.

  • Price for Logitech UE Boom has just been jacked up from 168 to 199. Should have bought it last night…
