Just called them and they don't even know whether it is Australian stock or grey. They are checking with their supplier.
Im still waiting for my GREY IMPORT POS from kogan i bought a MONTH ago for $400. They claim its been sent, but i have no tracking and just keep telling me to be patient. Am I within my rights to cancel if they keep stringin me along?
What payment method did you use? Don't let them string you along for too long. For example if you're paying by Paypal, you can no longer raise a dispute after 45 days from the day you made payment. Similarly it gets harder to chargeback your CC the longer you left it. If you have not received anything for some time and they're not acting quickly, involve third party so they have a deadline.
I paid by paypal, their ebay delivery date still has 1 day to go (17th) so if I dont have come monday then ill look at those options and go down to msy and get one.
For anyone that reads this - got it that day, so crisis over. Not sure if ill get my cash rewards %2 back though.

Just to update those who ordered apparently they had only 4 only in stock, which have been sold already lol…The rest of the orders are are being 'ordered' from their supplier and they gave me an unknown time as to when they'll get them in…I came to their store around midday with just two of them there..It seems theyve been getting alot of queries about the sony orders because she automatically knew why i was there for lol…Anyway ill keep updates here….she said she'd update this arvo…tho im not hopeful…ill call later againUpdate - called them just then. Apparently they talked to the supplier and they said it should arrive by next week..exactly when not sure..most likely weeks end…ill call again this time next week. Ill be picking it up so its not so much a hassle for me…i guess the prudent thing would be to just follow up on your order

Missed it - damn! looking to replace my Z1 with a newer one as it's a little… err.. dropped. That's a good price point for what is very similar to the most recent model still out there.

Can someone who received their phone check if its an Australian stock by checking the IMEI number with Sony as i spoke to the lady from ITEstate in regards of the warranty and if i can take the phone straight to Sony and she said no so im assuming its a grey import
If the charger has Aussie plug, it'll be genuine AU stock.

My S3 has fallen tens of times and never even a scratch on the edges of the phone or on the glass because of this. The All around frame case really helps with the bumps as normally when the phone falls down the cracks usually start from the edge onwards.
Nice reccomendation! But don't you think Tempered Glass will be more direct since it won't scratch the screen?
Agree 100%, I hadn't posted because at that time I hadn't ordered one, I was bidding and Bought a Nuglass screen protector and if the video is anything to go by, it works great.

Should be the same, you can get generic unbranded ones for $3-$4 from china, takes 2-4 weeks to get to your doorstep though.Most likely the nuglass one is just a company that found a good quality generic and started slapping their label on it
I have a z2, on my 2nd glass screen protector, the first one spontaneously cracked in my pocket, but was quite thin, from memory it was 0.2mm 2.5 Radians (or that's what they label it as in ebay descriptions), had a nice round edge as well. 0.3mm is what I'm using atm, hasn't cracked but doesn't have completely round edges, still nice and 100x better than a plastic screen protector. Both cost me around $3 ea
Update - called them today. They are still awaiting for shipment to come in. They expect it to come in either tomorrow or wednesday!…Hopefully to get phone…really need it now lol. If this doesn't come thru,jbhifi is selling the z1compact for 355 outright, which is a step back in specs and cost but having tested it out at the store its still appropriate for my basic needs..
btw having tested the z3….its fantstic…bigger icons make the difference…hopefully when the z2 gets to update to 4.4kk. the front facing camera is great aswell. the z1c front camera is sH@#T.

Sorry my bad…. I was looking at past reviews of z2 since 2014.im probably thinking now the larger icons are maybe due to the UI…dont know if that could be updated to the z2… Bummer
You can always use Nova launcher to change icon size, it also let's you hide apps, and lots of other features.
I have my icons at 1.15 times and have additional row of icons more than what's allowed by the Samsung launcher
I also called earlier, as I am in a similar situation with a currently busted phone. I got told they are "held up by customs" and they "hope to have them this week" so I should get it next week….

OK Everyone Called them again, they said the shipment to them has been delayed again, The phones are now expected to arrive to them on Friday 24/4/15. They will ship them out the following week. So don't hold your breath expecting phones this week…

Well, either way i hope it happens soon, because if it does falls thru im hoping to catch that z1c at jb. Also im thinking once the z4 is released, which hopefully very soon, all past versions should be marked down.

I just called them again, they said the stock should arrive next week and don't know why it is delayed. He also said that it is Australian stock and they made a deal with Sony and waiting for some authorization.

Why don't you call Sony, ask if they will price match then call IT Estate and ask for a refund?

I just gave them a call, they are saying that the phones will arrive at their store on Monday (this coming Monday, I checked).

As much as were all itching to get them in our hands and gripe about they delay, for the price point it's actually a very sweet deal.Probably the cheapest u can get on the net,at least atm before z4 release.It something im going to consider for my next buy, that is to wait just prior to an intial release to buy the superseded model…im thinking its quite a large order for this smallish computer store in Aurburn lol.
Btw reflecting on Sony's marketing campaignof a six month release is quite good in terms of attracting potential mid year phone contracts who absolutely want the latest flagship…also it attract us savy buyers in keeping relatively new but superseeded models at a low price point and establishing a customer loyalty over a quicker turn around…..
Anyway thats my two cents…sorry for the ramble which has nothing to to with the order lol…Although what you are saying is right, I still get really annoyed when places sell items that they don't have, even if it is best intentions.

Alright…soooo……i talked to the guy this time (most likely the owner) who said they got a few orders in (20) of the total 500 that they ordered from sony. As i expected it was quite a large deal made with their sony supplier. Theyll be shipping out to those who were first in the queue asap( lucky bastards). As for the rest well have to wait till the next shipment next week coming in….most likely next friday again. The bad news is that i think they are likely coming out small orders at a time (most likely batches of 20 or so) as like the order that just came in. Im 60 in the queue so…whether i likely im going to get it is up in the air..maybe the week after im hoping…He wasn't certain how many they are getting next week. He said to those who ordered and payed will be getting a full refund if the orders does fall through so at least u can get ur money back…howerver its crazy to think a business to take in so many orders without much assurance to those whove paid for an item almost two weeks ago!!! Incredible and ludicrous!!!

Yeah, didn't they get on the blower and ask Sony/supplier how many then can get before offering the deal? I assume this was a special deal from Sony to ITEstate to move some stock so they should have known in advance how many were to be moved. Maybe it's Sony incompetence???

Moto G is around $100 cheaper, but it's also quite inferior to the Z2. I'll wait as long as it takes.
Yeah, but for me it's okay. I don't really play games or do complex things on my phone, just need a phone with GPS and a reasonable camera. Also, 2 sims could be a bonus for me.
I'm waiting for a Moto G below $200.
Whilst I understand they are probably a small business who got overwhelmed by way more orders than they expected, there a few things that still irk mew about this
- don't say you have something in stock when you don't. As far as I am concerned when you say you have something and you are in Australia I expect to get it in max 3-5 days
- there has been no communication from them about the delay
- they still have these for sale on their website (albeit at $505). So hypothetically if I went and ordered one now for $505 would I jump the queue and get it??
Shocking website, got an error twice when registering, but then it let me proceed with order. Tried 3 times to order. First 2 got different errors, then let me place the order. No email confirmation. Not confident I will ever get it
