Big Mac Small Meal - $5

How much is it normally ?

    • I'd hazard a guess of ~$6

      • -3

Personally, I'd rather get a Whopper from HJ's, the $1 fries from KFC and a $1 frozen coke…

        • +3

fries are not a dollar anymore ….

        • +11

          @MATTS:

fries are not a dollar anymore ….

          WHAT !!!

        • +1

          @jv:

He said: "fries are not a dollar anymore …."

        • @jv: Where have you been? Even the KFC $1 fries deal has ended..

    • +7

      Sigh

According to this deal, a Big Mac alone is around $5 (depending on state).

I even went to the effort of trying to deal with the 'My Maccas' app just for you jv, but the app is sh.t and didn't want to load the menu.

      • -3

a Big Mac alone is around $5

        I woudn't pay $5 for a Big Mac, they aren't even that big…

Especially when you can get a couple of Whoppers for around $6…

        • +6

          I woudn't pay $5 for a Big Mac, they aren't even that big…

That's nice. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, beauty of free speech. I'm just wondering if you're not concerned about the deal, why are you in this post?

That's what the comments section is for… To discuss whether it is a good deal or a crap deal…

        • +3

          @jv:

And with this deal, there is a saving to be made. If you feel that going to 2 seperate fast food places is a deal, post it.

Although, as pointed out above, $1 chips has finished.

        • +5

And with this deal, there is a saving to be made.

          That's why I didn't vote -ve… Don't think it's much of a bargain though…

        • +1

I agree on the big macs!! $5.30 at my local, and the 2 whopper voucher for $7ish extra pickles extra onions, fills me up well!!

        • @jv: http://www.msn.com/en-au/money/markets/mcdonalds-to-close-hu…

This likely the reason price hike then use vouchers to lerk customers

    • +3

small meal is normally around $9.15. Everything's gone up and it's horrible!

      • small meal is normally around $9.15.

        LOL…

April Fools was 3 weeks ago…

        You're kidding? Right????

        • +2

I wish I was.. That may be for a medium though so $8.60 for a small

        • +4

definitely not joking… i've taken my kids a few times to have a $30+ total n wonder to myself wtf just happened… i just spent over 30 on maccas food????

        • Thats not kidding…some small meals are more than $9 closer to $10 at Mcdonalds. Although a small "big" mac meal is around $8.50

        • @scud70: that's why dominos are my favourite junk food joint. they frequently have $7 traditional pizza deals which not only fill me up, i often have leftovers for breakfast.

the grand angus meal deal i had yesterday for $7 only just filled me up.

        • @tdw: yeh very rarely i take them to Maccas .. usually just get a cheese pizza and their happy and it costs 1/3 of the price at full price :) … just annoyed me the couple of times ive taken them as a treat that it was barely any diff to a take away Chinese or similar place…

    • Around $7

  • +1

    the same question as jv…

    • +1

About $9.15 from what i've seen, although that may be a medium

      • thanks mate, sounds good then :)
But I'll opt for a delivery hero today's deal :)

  • +4

the voucher seems will get reject from staff

    • Why?

      • +4

because it is normally the maccas staff getting rejected?

        • You must have the voucher that was sent to your email in order to get the meal. Won't work unless you show the original voucher that was sent to your email.

    • +4

Agreed – needs the full email like I posted in my last deal.

      • -4

No it doesnt, I've linked to the individual vouchers, no need for the email when they're meant to be cut out anyway

        • +9

I think the full email would legitimize the offer to staff who are unsure of the deal, as opposed to showing them a small voucher with no promotional advertising around it. If anyone could post the full email in a similar PDF form to itsfree's post last week, I would be very appreciative

        • +1

Let me know if they accept a 527x146 jpg image with no Terms and Conditions listed – people had trouble redeeming the offer I posted that included the full email, so there's no telling how people will go with this one…

they're meant to be cut out anyway

          lol:

To redeem the offer in restaurant, present this voucher on your mobile device or as a print out

    • had a coupon like this which was on mc donalds facebook. went into a store they didnt know what was going on, the guy was really nice but and just gave me the 20% discount which made the meal cheaper then the coupon. I think head office don't communicate the offers well with the stores ie. how to apply the discount etc.

  • +10

maccas is not cheap anymore hey.

    • +2

I was shocked last time I was there. In my head a McDonalds burger is about $3 and a medium meal about $5.

      • -3

Bit expensive to pay for this and the resultant Coronary:P

        • and the resultant Coronary

The coronary is cheaper, it's covered by Medicare…

      • +2

and petrol is still 80c? the early 2000's was great

        • +1

Depends on where you were. In 2000 petrol was $1.29 at Uluru. I took a photo. These days that looks cheap and no one gets the photo. Then again, I remember when Cheeseburgers were 25 cents. I'll be quiet now, I'm showing my age.

    • +2

Totally agree. Price for a meal is just under $10 now, which at this price I would rather have a proper and more healthy meal.

      • $40 to feed a family of 4 with small meals at Maccas !!! And they call this the lucky country !!!

  • How do I get on this mailing list?

    • +10

      Jenny Craig…

      • literally rofl over here

      • Good one

  • +8

So the moron from my last deal did unsubscribe me from the newsletter, as I didn't receive this email this time.

    • +2

Oh, that is such bad form, so many people enjoyed your last deal, including me. Such a turn off for future sharing 😩. I hope you can reconnect somehow itsfree.

      • +1

Thanks LxpensiveE – I always enjoy when I can give back to my OzBargain Brethren. Hopefully I can find a way to resubscribe…

  • +7

Thank you for taking the trouble to post and putting up with the negativity from those who don't appreciate your efforts and the savings.
I appreciate these for days when I take older relatives to appointments. It saves packing lunch and is a little treat in their week. Fortunately we don't eat take away often, even take away is ok if its in moderation.

  • Is there any list of participating restaurants? It seems like Sydney CBD restaurants don't accept those vouchers.
I was told that they are different franchisees.

    • The one near the strand does, next door to rm williams in george st if that helps. The one in myer food court doesn't.

      • Thanks mate I'll try there tomorrow

  • The crap I got told at Parramatta Westfield Level 5 was that these coupons are only valid at "stand alone stores", not shops in another building / train station / etc.
    Wtf

    • +1

lol that's not true – i use them fine here in melbourne. vendors just like to make up rules on the spot.

  • I paid $8.65 for a small meal the other day - was pretty surprised it was that much

    • It's $10.80 for a small chicken burger meal at my Maccas.

      • Outrageous!

  • +3

When I was a kid maccas was the best thing. Now I fell like I am being punished for something when I have to eat it with the kids

    • What was once a McHappy meal is now a McCrappy meal lol

  • +5

Can someone do a screen capture of the e-mail at least?

    • +3

I agree. There is no way my local store will accept the coupons show. They always spend a couple of minutes reading every word of the email.

  • Does a big Mac small mac = Mac meal

  • +1

Just a reminder, Vermont South Maccas (VIC) do not accept these.

  • +8

    Thanks for the deal Spackbace.

Tested at Maccas cnr Springvale rd/ Ferntree gully 24 hours one. Person serving me didn't know about it, manager on duty didn't know about it. Thankfully it was shift change and the previous manager knew about it.

If the person serving you is unaware of thisdeal, advise them to select 'DIGITAL PROMOS' on their screen and the deal will come up. Note: The person serving me was cool enough to ask whether I wanted the $5 Big Mac deal or a 2 for 1 Big Mac deal which also came up.

All I did was show them the above linked image without anything else.

    • +2

It's always great when you have to tell workers how to use their own POS.
This detail should be included on all future sneaky deals.

  • I tried the voucher at two of my local Maccas. The one located in the shopping centre food court had no idea of the offer but eventually the manager agreed to offer the deal with no hassles. The other stand alone store accepted the deal straightaway after I showed the voucher on my phone.

  • Great deal!

  • +1

I've used it 4 times already, I work in the city so maccas is only 100m away

  • Cheers. Just use the voucher at Casula store

  • I tired to get the $5 small Big Mac meal and got rejected by the manager. They said they "don't do that anymore" . Couldn't be bothered questioning ..

  • +1

Can someone take a screenshot of the email and post it up so we can email it to ourselves. The manager at my local accepts it but only if it's in an email (and he can delete it in front of me) as it is he refused me.

  • Great stuff. Just used the Big Mac link from my phone screen at Mickey D's Chatswood. No problem at all.

  • got my last today, wonder what is next ?
Maccas can be quite pricey compared to other fast food options if they don't have a promo on.
