freetix is offering free tickets to ozapocolypse, checked on the ozapocolypse website and these tickets are worth $127. Great event, seems like good fun for friends. get in quick! 3 different days; Friday, Sat, and Sunday all this weekend.

EDIT…
NOTE: The INFECTED tickets on offer here are NOT shooter tickets. You will be made up into a Zombie to be part of the experience for the shooters. You'll be part of the cast scarring [SIC - scaring?] everyone who comes through."

  • not too sure what this is all about been seems like we get to kill the undead.

It's not really clear. Looks like you're signing up to be the undead, and have people (who are having the actual fun) run around and kill you.
It's like being an unpaid extra in a movie.

      Yeah. Unpaid labour lol

    • +3

This is exactly what it is - although some people will have fun being the zombies…

    • Lol tickets are worth $127 to be shooter, $0 for extra

From the website: "NOTE: The INFECTED tickets on offer here are NOT shooter tickets. You will be made up into a Zombie to be part of the experience for the shooters. You'll be part of the cast scarring everyone who comes through."

These tickets are worth whatever value you put on someone dressing you up as a zombie for a few hours on the weekend.

    • thanks for clarifying, just read that now!

    • If they do a decent job dressing you up and stuff, I can imagine it would being fun with a couple of close friends :)

Scarring?? Like inflicting permanent bodily damage… wow

  • +2

I really hope it involves "scarring" people!

  • From the FAQ page:

"We don’t have a viewing room but we DO have a “Zombie Nest” area. Here friends and players can join the game as the undead and get the chance to scare their friends and family. Why watch when you can be part of the game. If you arrive with a ticketed player there will be no charge for any accompanying person to join the Zombie Nest – HOWEVER – you will be required to take on the persona of a ‘real life’ zombie and follow the instructions of the Zombie master – or you will be asked to leave the nest area."

Looks like it's normally free but I guess still a bargain as you would otherwise need to accompany a paying player .. or at least show up at the same time as some rando with a ticket and claim to know them…

    • The Zombie Nest tickets are sold as "Infected Tickets" for $20 per person if you are not accompanying a paying player.

So Freetix ticket holders save themselves $20 and have a lot of fun getting their theatrical makeup done and dressing in costume to scare the shooters.

Kids over the age of 11 years old are also welcome to join in so long as they can remain in character.

Something different and fun to do over the weekend as a family :-)

We did this on Sunday night, playing as a normal player (tickets over $100) and were really disappointed. If you are thinking of buying a ticket please read my review first http://liveactiongaming.com.au/content/review-oz-apocalypse

100% agree with this review, seemed really pointless compared to last year.

I did it last Friday and found it underwhelming. The original Pozible funded IRL Shooter that was held in Melbourne in 2013 was great. However this OzApocolypse incarnation is a pale shadow of the original. OzA are marketing it well and appear to be shutting down any negative posts on their Facebook page. The original IRL shooter event had a story, atmosphere and run in a large multi room warehouse. There were puzzles to solve, realistic zombies, a final boss to combat and most of all a real scary adrenalin pumping experience. This new OzA event is run in a much smaller wooden maze inside a large pavilion at the Showgrounds. You cover the same ground twice and there is little atmosphere and no story. Our group of 13 were all disappointed.

  • Once they put your zombie make-up on, rock up to the nearest gun shooting range for what may be the greatest (and last) prank of your life!

There's just something a little wrong about a shoot em up experience held on ANZAC Day.
