      • Choose from 16GB to 128G, can purchase outright

I think you have to be a customer (that is on a plan) in order to buy outright.

In any case it is $1,080 for the iP6+ 64GB, but only $960 for the iP6 64GB is not too bad.

        • +1

you only have to sign up for a month, so it's 960 + 35 for the cheapest plan and sim fee

Great deal for an excellent phone. The 64gb option is definitely the sweet spot for most people. Don't forget to buy a case, the spigen ones off eBay are great and offer ample protection!

I do not think it is such a "great deal" for a Hong Kong or USA market iPhone.

Copy of the last part of my web chat - just before "cath" 'hungup' on me:-

      Mr
So, 1) they are in stock in Melbourne but 2) they may not really be Australian Market iPhones and 3) they may be grey imports from the USA or Hong Kong and 4) they would require the correct adapter for charging for Australia.

      Cath
      Yes, that is correct

      Cath has closed the chat.

Description on COTD says australian stock

          Mr
Also, one final question - As Catch are not Apple re-sellers, how would they even get these items?

          Cath
Most of our stock is sourced from local suppliers however we do also import quality products from countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States who have the same high standards that we enjoy here in Australia.

All of our products are genuine, safe and in most cases, exactly the same as what you would purchase in your local store.

          Mr
          WAIT A SECOND!
Either these are imports from Hong Kong or the USA - which would explain the low price. OR they are Australian Market iPhones as seemingly claimed in the listing page.

          Cath
Alright, as I am not sure where exactly we got the stocks but the deal/ discount is being offered by Catch of the Day

    • Lol at $1K for a phone it's certainly hitting Tim Cook's sweet spot!

      • And many other CEOs for that matter.

Plenty of flagship Android handsets hitting the $1k mark this year.

    • don't go on the mobile site

    • +1

      Sold out.

More likely removed. Cath got someone else involved while we were 'chatting'.

I had politely mentioned "false and misleading" content on that page.

  • +2

Still have time to get OW to pricematch.

    • How do you have time to do get OW to pricematch if it is saying sold out, and if it's almost midnight?

  • +2

Good price if you really really want it outright but you can get it for similar on a 12month Vodafone plan (including what you would spend per month)

$900 outright + $40pm for unlimited calls 3gig internet (average sim only majority are on) = $1380

    Or

    Vodafone 12month contract unlimited calls 4gb internet $118pm = $1416 (+ 1 year extra warranty with Vodafone)

    Or

    Vodafone 12months 128gb model $128pm = $1535

    • Also don't forget the time value of money.

  • still available

  • Not a big fan of iPhones but that is a good price.

  • Lol I got 2 brand new iPhone 6 from work and trying to sell it at the same price as this ad, but I'm still struggling! :(

    • Put an advertisement here for $899 and you might sell it

      • Done

        • I hope they sell because I'm sure there were people who paid $900 to COTD for the same item

  • Says sold out for me, from my notebook (not mobile).

    • says in stock on my desktop

  • Says under 30 units available, from my PC (not MacBook).

    • Hmm, I'm not on a macbook, either, but it still says sold out. Sigh. [ OK, I've sussed it out. I opened a private browsing window and it showed up in stock. One less iphone 6 available now. ]

  • iPhone 6S cometh soon?

    • No. September or October most likely.

  • +1

This is a great deal if it's Australian stock.

    • +1

This is a great deal if it's Australian stock.

However, despite Catch of the Day claims, I do not believe they will be Australian Market iPhones - and (again, despite Catch of the Day claims) I do not believe that they are "Australian stock" either.

      So, my claims are:-
      Not Australian Market iPhones
      Not "Australian Apple stock"
      Not stocked in Melbourne Australia
      No "Manufacturer warranty" in Australia
      Not "Model: iPhone 6 (MG4F2X/A)"

I will be very pleased if I am wrong in making these claims.

As, my fellow OzBargainers who purchased will have received a real bargain from this deal.

      • I thought you can claim warranty at Apple Store around the world no matter where you buy or what stock it is?

        • I thought you can claim warranty at Apple Store around the world no matter where you buy or what stock it is?

          Yes, you can request assistance.

However, Apple can restrict warranty support to the country of first sale for iPhones, and for iPads with cellular capability.

Also, you can't get Out of Warranty replacements without returning to the place of first supply (unless Apple will order one for you - but then you would have to wait for it to be imported).

My feedback is - buy it for the 1TB hard drive alone. Bargain at $69.

  • Can I claim gst return in airport for item bought from cotd?

    • You get an Australian invoice from COTD (AFAIK.)

    • Can I claim gst return in airport for item bought from cotd?

Certainly, if they supply a Tax Invoice for this purchase.

That was a good question. I should have asked that question on their Live Chat.

      • COTD is registered for gst so most likely they will issue tax invoices

        • COTD is registered for gst so most likely they will issue tax invoices

If they actually have these phones, and if they are really being sold by COTD. They MUST supply a Tax Invoice.

As the OP has purchased (and so it seems have several others) I am sure they will report back here the results of their purchases.

I'm leaving overseas next week, so I get the GST back.

Drum roll…I can confirm we have received this iPhone 6 64GB and the product code matches that of the one on Myer website

    mg4f2x/a

    http://m.myer.com.au/shop/mobile/mystore/iphone-6--64gb---sp…

Assuming Myer carries legit Aussie stock then this iphone is indeed Aussie stock…can take photo for those who need to see it…

Still don't know how they got that price? Apple controls the market price. Maybe pricing error?

  • +1

    Mg4f2x/a arrived today.
    Thanks OP & COTD!

  • As I posted before….

I will be very pleased if I am wrong in making these claims.

As, my fellow OzBargainers who purchased will have received a real bargain from this deal.

Did anyone Price Beat at OfficeWorks?

  • +1

Another confirmation that this is MG4F2X/A Aussie Stock with GST invoice, perfect for TRS claiming!

Can anyone who has received the phone kindly tell me what is the iOS version in the phone? Thanks!

    • +1

No idea, but I had to update it to 8.3 so I can restore from my iphone5.

  • Does anyone knows if it has 2 years Australia Warranty or just 1 year as stated in the invoice? It should be 2 years for an aus stock isn't it?

Also… Just wondering if it is sealed in the box, would TRS request to open it for checking?

    • Does anyone knows if it has 2 years Australia Warranty or just 1 year as stated in the invoice? It should be 2 years for an aus stock isn't it?

No. All Apple iPhones have a one year "warranty". You are thinking of the two year consumer "guarantee". As an Australian market model you would be 'covered' by the two year guarantee.
