  • How long do you get before you need to active the licence ?

    • +1

You have to activate by June 30. My guess is if you have an existing 12 month subscription, it will just renew another 12 months when that expires

Yes you can stack these. So if you buy five and add the codes you get five years worth.

        • Sounds great. Do you know where this can be confirmed in writing ? Presumably you will just get whatever the latest version of the "Home" suite comprises at the time ?

        • @belbo: I see this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195155 had a link confirming you can stack for 5 years. Excellent. I just bought 5 of these - although I realised after I would have been better off with the SaveonIT deal as delivery and handling was about $20 from MSY. Presumably MSY doesn't email codes but post the boxes. Anyway - seems to be a bloody good deal as it includes MSAccess and 1TB storage for each user. Surprised these deals aren't making the front page.

        • @belbo: I see the SaveonIT price has gone up to $83 - so it turns out I'm actually about $20 better of with MSY after also taking into account the SaveonIT 2% Paypal / CC surcharge. Yippee.

      • Per the redemption site you need to activate by 31 July, not 30 June. Am I missing something ? https://www.microsoft.com.au/officecashback/terms.html

  • Can you get cashback if you're using this to extend an existing license?

Interesting that they stock "Home Premium" - looks like an older copy (mentions SkyDrive)? Officeworks has the "Home" one (w/ OneDrive). Unfortunately, that might be enough for them to refuse to price-match.

The catalogue number does match, so maybe you can get that past them.

I'm pretty sure that's just an old picture. They can't update every picture whenever manufacturers change the look of a product and still charge peanuts.

      • I haven't even bothered looking at the difs between Home and Home Premium, but I just did an online chat with MS. They confirmed a Home Premium subscription will just activated as the newer Home subscription.

        • I bought one in the Adelaide store yesterday and can confirm that it's the new Home version.

        • @Nukkels: Great. Thanks.

      • The Hunter St Officeworks actually had Home Premium cards. But they won't match the card with the MSY box :\

  • Where's the deal?

I didn't realize there were so many people with no students in the house. Remember every student gets several licences for free.

    • Not true, depends if the school is participating.

      • Every state school and most Uni students in the land is a pretty big group.

  • Why do they seem to be charging shipping for a no media version?

    • +1

might be S/N printed on a card though…
I had a copy of Windows 8 come through the post/box/envelope with cdkey printed on a card…. along with the nice hologram sticker

      It comes in a box

    • Yep, thanks guys. Just picked up the box while I was over at morningside in Brisbane :) $77 for the 5 license with no preorder.

  • no online exchange…..

This is only $60 at Big W Doncaster in their Dropzone. Picked up one a couple of days ago.

It's also a 5 licence version which will only end up costing $35 after cash back

    • Can't find any stock in any Big W Melbourne Metro store..

  • Doncaster Big W had plenty of stock in the IT area

  • It says deal of the day, but this post says expires 31 May (Sunday). Can OP or anyone else confirm where it says deal is on till Sunday ?

    • It was on the screen in store as a weekend deal. If you grab it today it'll be $77 - although I think it's normally only about $80 at MSY anyway.

  • Just confirmed by online chat with MS that onedrive storage is now unlimited for Home (and personal and uni users) - but you need to sign up as they are rolling it out - hence why Office 365 advertising still says 1TB onedrive rather than unlimited. Max file size is 10gb - up from 2gb previously. They gave me the sign-up link is here https://blog.onedrive.com/office-365-onedrive-unlimited-stor… .

  • According to the retailer list at the bottom of MS Cashback site, MSY is not a participating retailer

    • You're kidding !

      • Definitely a scrolling banner on their site advertising the $25 cashback. I've taken a screenshot - and have emailed the promoters to confirm. Can you post the link to the retailer list ? I didn't see one. I'd be surprised if they weren't included - especially since they're advertising it. I've always found them to be very above board.

        • You can click on 'other' in the retailer name drop down menu when you make your cashback claim

        • +1

@yoyomablue: All is good. Just got an email reply from the cashback promoters. "Thank you for your email. Yes MSY Technology is an eligible Australian reseller."
