Not sure whats the difference between DC45 to DC35… but Target has DC35 for $299

    • The DC45 has a powerhead that is double the power of the DC35. Plus, the DC45 can run for 20 minutes whilst the DC35 can only run for 15 minutes (on normal mode).

Not sure what you are trying to say. This deal is a newer model AND it is $1 cheaper on paper. So, why bother mentioning an old model with more expensive price?

How does this compare to the Dyson V6? from this deal http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/v6-handstick…

Bloody Dyson's marketing strategy with so many different models!!!

I think the V6 is rebadged DC59, in which case the V6 has a more powerful suck than DC45. Better for carpet apparently. When I went to buy 45 at good guys last time they had this on special the salesperson strongly advised me to buy the 59 instead (there were lots of reasons, which I forget now, but sounded plausible). I did buy the 59 (when eBay had the 20% off good guys sale) and LOVE it. But it was about $100 more than this post.

      • Thanks mate. I'll go with the V6.

DC59/V6 is only more powerful on BOOST mode.

On normal mode they have the same power.

Given that having owned both I prefer the DC59/V6 because of

        -Larger dust bin capacity
        -More power on BOOST mode
        -Better location of filter
        -Larger cleaning head
-More sensitive trigger (which could be a downside :P)

However the DC59/V6 has slightly less battery life due to the bigger turbo head and higher power on boot mode :(

        • Do you have to press and hold the button to activate suction, or is there away to have the thing suck always? You know what I mean.

        • @Jesmond:

Nope u gotta hold the trigger for suction. Think cordless drill.

        • @abc: I have one a DC44 and it doesn't bother me but the lady of the house would like perm suck.

        • @Jesmond: You might want to try the Hoover Heritage 5210 Cordless Stick Vac. They are normally on special for $79. I compared it to a DC59 (they are now called, V6) I also once had in terms of runtime, hair pickup, debris, and dust pickup on medium pile carpet. Surprisingly both picked these things up in 1 forward and backward sweep. However, the DC59 ended up with more of the hair tangled in its motorhead, whilst the Hoover did not. Which was also surprising as they both have the same brushroll design, and their brushrolls are of the same size. The Hoover runs a little longer than the DC59 (20 vs <17 mins), and does have a proper 'stay on' switch. However, in terms of vacuuming high up areas such as the ceilings and vents it is much easier with the DC59 because of its extended stick; whereas for the Hoover you need to get a chair.

        • @TScott: Thanks! Will research

This comment will make a lot more sense in a hundred years when Mr. Dyson invents a fembot…
