    • Hi wintoand,

Thanks for reminding. when pay in US it will be a little bit high comparing with gearbest. But when you change the currency to AUD it wll be $120.34.

    • Sorry wintoand but you need to learn the difference between $USD and $AUD.

      • +3

gear best is $103 USD, newfrog is $106.49 USD using code.

        • I see. Gearbest has free delivery to Australian postal addresses.

        • nvm

        • +1

          @hollykryten:

its free delivery dude. I checked it out using paypal checkout

        • @dtnvong:

Yes. To be fair though the international shipping method from Newfrog includes tracking whereas the free shipping from Gearbest includes no tracking unless paying an extra $4.99 USD upgrade. So when you take into tracked shipping Newfrog is out ahead.

Also the Registered Airmail delivery time quoted from Newfrog is 10-15 working days and delivery time from Gearbest is quoted as 7-25 business days.

        • @hollykryten: okay, fair enough. Just that with paypal payments its protected anyway unless you need to see 'tracking'

        • @dtnvong:

Good to know when the parcel actually reaches Australia and when you might expect it to be delivered after that. Otherwise it's any ones guess without tracking. Besides Paypal might like to be given a trackable tracking number.

        • @hollykryten: good point :) better getting notified than waiting a month for delivery. "any day now".. LOL

  • Cool product, do we get an AU Power Adapter?

    • Yes, of course. We will send out the adapter according to customer's shipping address.

      • Good price

      • Will it be an adapter approved for use in Australia?

        • +2

Highly unlikely, so it should likely end up in the bin.

They should offer a slightly cheaper version without a power supply for Australia.

  • So it should say 92.89us$
I see what you did there…..

    • +1

      Hi wintoand,

it can say so. As you pay in AUD so it just need$120.34 with the code.

      • +1

That's not the point, rep. Australian buyers can pay in USD if they wish, and let their bank/PayPal/mafia do the conversion instead…

        • Hi PinzVidz,

Yes it is. That it the reson why I put the two currency in the title.

        • I'm taking about the USD price differences between your store and Gearbest.

  • Any specials on the pipo x8?

  • so this is a mini pc? full function just add monitor and keyboard/mouse? and legit window too? wow.. 5 years ago this didnt exist

    • -8

      and legit window too?

Sure. And can I interest you in some shares in the Sydney Harbour bridge?

Gearbest is more honest, and tell you that Windows is not activated. You will have 30 days to activate.
The OS is $137 at Officeworks. Or just use Android, which is free.

      • +1

actually it is legit win8 with bing. I have this pipox7 and confirm this.

      • ouch! Did I break the first rule of Usenet?

    • +1

Actually, about 5 years ago in 2010 ASUS came up with a computer that was embedded into a keyboard called the ASUS EEE keyboard. It was a pretty curious bit of kit and it even had a touchscreen that doubled as a touchpad.

    • yes, it is a mini pc. just add keyboard, mouse and monitor. can support full hd resolution through hdmi. not the most powerful, however search web, watch YouTube, use word/ excel etc

  • I have used Pipo X7 and it's a great little PC that can easily replace a normal home PC.

    • yeh except the overheating… And there's no reason it will be any different for this one.

The X7 uses only a thin aluminum tape strip to cool it. It doesn't work.

Even after adding heatsinks, it still eventually throttles to 50mhz. I'll try a thermal pad on the board next, but thats all i can try. I fear that won't be enough either.

      • +1

I have one also but mine seems fine never had any heating issue or throttling at all…..mmm, am I just sort of lucky I got a good unit (except for the scratches all over the unit) or have they fixed the heat issue now with X7s. Bought mine from Gerabest was not happy about the scratches at first but got over it as it works fine and I was too lazy to dispute and return, so kept it…..looking at another unit in the kitchen now.
Can OP advice, if they fixed the heat issue in X7s or is the X8 better with no issue?
Any feedback from anyone else would be most appreciated, thanks in advance.

        • +1

More likely you received a unit with a particularly good CPU that doesn't generate at much heat.

        • +1

from what I read about the x7's is that they don't have the heat issue. Mine doesn't suffer from any heat issue.

        • +1

what is most likely is you don't ever push the box to the limits.

It is fine for a very light use, but as soon as you start multi-tasking the cpu usage goes up and so does the temperature. And the box has the inability to release that heat efficiently. It becomes much more apparent when you try to use it heavily for over 30 minutes.

^ that seems to show they're still using that black metal tape to cool it.
if u do a system stability test with aida64 it should eventually show signs of throttling, especially if you play a vp9 youtube video in chrome in the background of that.

There also seems to be additional throttling that is not based upon cpu temperature. It does seem to be based on heat though, and I assume it is the power delivery chip overheating.

        • Thanks for replying Peeps, appreciate the details.
I think I may have just got lucky with mine or maybe I had used push it to the limit.=, I think I am going for the X8 (Geekbuying has one in recent post) instead, it seems that model they did upgrade the heating issue….at least from what I read so far…..
Maybe Rep can do a better special on the X8?

      • +1

Mine doesn't have any overheating issues.

So one of these and connect to a tv, then you could run Foxtel go and watch on a tv?

  • +1

X8s they have a fitted Thermal Pad In the Base to help with heat.
Its a kinda fun unit (wedge desktop tablet).
Works pretty much same as X7.

  • You can get the X8 for $5 more which has a 7" touch screen and and dual Win8.1 / Android 4.4…

    • WHere?

        • ahh no thanks, gearbest have a terrible reputation and its $16 more

        • It is US $104… Also at geekbuying…

        • @Maxx Power: Thanks will take a look

Ouch they seem to have a bad rep aswell https://www.facebook.com/GeekbuyingThieves

        • +2

@Mikinoz: Those posts are well over 2 years old. You'll find that the majority of problems are people using free shipping and complaining that it took ~35 days to arrive rather than the estimated 30 days. I'm the rep for Geekbuying, so if you have any further questions, PM ME ;)

        • @Clear: Thanks Clear, do you have a special or able to make an Ozbargain coupon? How long would delivery take for a Pipo x8 to get here?

        • @Mikinoz:
They have a lot better reputation than HP in this manor Squire…

  • +1

Geekbuying has good shipping crazy not to use DHL.
3 days was the best when I received an item from Geekbuying using DHL.

  • Hey rep. Why is it showing US $119.38 on the website instead of US $97?

    • Hi biryani,

Please first change the currency to AU and apply the code at check out, finally it shows AU$120.33.

  • Hi, any reason why i've recieved a partial order - no communication to tell me that X7S wasn't going to be shipped. I've received everything else, including the Australian plug adapter.

    This is poor.

    • Hi ImyDaSaint,

I am sorry to hear that, Could you please PM me your order number so that I can have a check for you. Then I can fix this problem up as soon as possible. Thanks
