Little side note

To all ozbargainers, please be as kind as you can to all Big W staff. Can you imagine them searching for each game in the draw then when they go put it in the cases, they go back to their register and see another 5+ people waiting in line just to do it all again with the next customer? You got some others who aren't interested in the deal (like people who have to get their digital photos printed) and some of them may get impatient. This causes big stress for both the staff member and the customer. Please praise them for their efforts as thats the least we can all contribute.

      Brisbane always have almost zero games stock to begin with.

      I think the worst thing is BigW is just being stupid. The games would sell just as quick at $10 each and that would, for the most part, avoid people buying multiple copies of each game and leave more for everyone.

      Instead, staff buy 10 copies each and hide them out back and customers never see them.

    I sent my wife to check out Big W Kawana because I'm away but it was already being raided - nothing I wanted was left. I would like to say thanks to one of the raiders though for helping my wife figure out which games were $3 by showing her the stack of titles in his basket. I assumed it was a fellow Ozbargainer :)

    Bunch of consoles and console bundles. PS4 Destiny, XB1 Titanfall, PS3 160GB, PS Vita Wifi, Pokemon X/Y 2DS. (I really want the XB1 bundle, but can't make it due to work. They have 2 so if anyone manages to grab one I'm offering a $50 bounty :P)

    Not much in terms of games. They have a very small selection and it's mostly new titles with only a few older releases. XB1 Sniper Elite 3, XB1 Just Dance, XB1 Ryse, PS3 South Park, PS4 Trials Fusion. They had some 3DS games as well, but the store was closing so I didn't get a chance to go through them.

    Oh and some PS3 controllers and charging cables.

    Will drop in at Browns Plains after work tomorrow. Probably won't be anything left by then, but it's on the way home so got nothing to lose except a little time. Will update with details.

      Might be worth trying browns plains later today, was there at open and they brought out 2 xbox one consoles but that was it. It sounded like the guys there wanted more time to look through the stock because they didn't know about it.

      Yeah those scalpers would have been out in force today. Just hoping my local store has something, I just want a new game to play on xbone. Games with gold has been very mediocre on xbone lately. Knowing my luck, there will only be ps4 games left..

      So the price tags said otherwise? Does this mean we grab what ever is listed up top? (for example grab sniper elite 3 that says 60 bucks and take it to the counter and they change the price)

      Or are they are in other bins with a big price tag on the bin itself saying 3 bucks?

          Remember that the list comprises of older stock. When I walked into Big W, I had to hunt for the $3 games and many had one copy left (Enslaved and Grid: Autosport for example).

          Remember that there's 50 (I'm over-exaggerating) copies of FIFA 15 and Minecraft to dig through to find them.

        They scanned at $3 from the self-scan machine (which I was using like a boss).

        The worker was in the middle of sticking the new $3 tags up as I was picking out the stuff.

        The games were in the usual places in the entertainment section.

    I went to my local BigW last night to check out the stock. There were two staff members setting up an area with XB1, PS4, X360, PC games on a table out the front of the entertainment centre.

    The two staff members were talking about which games they wanted to purchase after they finished work. I asked them if the games were on sale yet. They said that the sale officially started tomorrow (18th) but some stores have already started the sale and it was up to the manager to decide if they wanted to start the sale earlier. After talking for a while they spilled that they were going to buy all the XB1 and PS4 games for themselves including a console at the end of their shift.

    Sounds like its a great deal for staff members who have early access. Would have been great to have a limit on the amount of games you can purchase so the real gamers can actually purchase. Thanks OP for posting a great deal and well done to all people who managed to score the deals yesterday!

    Werribee Plaza had a trolley full of games and accessories that they locked away last night. They also had about 15 Pokemon Consoles (X and Y). The lady let me get one early before the manager put them away too. lol

    Also grabbed the Wii Remote Motion Party bundle thingy for $3. They had 2 more in the trolley.

    Also the lady said another guy was in just before me and he grabbed quite a few things. He told her its on an Internet Blog site. I acted like I had no idea what she was talking about.

    Just been to Robina; place has been pretty raided already. There were a few 2ds consoles. 3ds xls were scanning at $248. No PS4 stock (there were only 2 copies of cod ghosts). Xbone stock gone too. Stacks of xbox 360 and ps2 + 3 still around (nothing good though).

      Was just there too - got four PS3 games (shooters mainly); there was quite a few copies left for PS3.
      There was a helpful staff member scanning games for people to speed things up - basically no XB1 left, I think one guy got the last one.

Then called again last night to see if they can hold the xbone console at full price and she said yes. Called again today and she is like we don't hold it for anyone and we sold it. Went to the rouse hill store and saw the staff hiding around 60 copies of games behind the counter for themselves.

    I went into Big W Warringah Mall at 8:10am this morning and it was surprisingly civilised there. About five or six guys milling around checking prices on various games and a couple waiting for consoles - it looked like there was just a couple of PS3's, not much stock on that side of things.

    I managed to pick up a few Wii U games along with some Skylanders and Disney Infinity multipacks. I'd imagine the games will go pretty quickly, but there wasn't anyone obviously hoarding the lot.

      I didn't get there until about 8:50am and could only find one Xbone game left (Soul Suspect) as the rest had been cleared out. Chatted to a couple of guys around and that said it didn't take long to clear them out. The bloke on the counter was very good and helpful. He said they actually didn't know about it until this morning and so were surprised on it with the rush of people as they didn't have anything in the drop zone area, just people grabbing things from the shelves in the games area. The lady at the front said she had seen quite a lot of people this morning! I did manage to get some 3DS games including Skylanders Swap Force expansions and Disney Infinity original starters for $3. They had a 360 and Xbone console bundle (AC) but not on the markdown list so were left untouched!

    QV in Melb is basically cleared out now. They didn't have any consoles last night when they checked (staff were incredibly helpful though) and any remotely decent software went last night.
    FYI, they also checked XBO console stock in Geelong and were all out as well, if anyone was wondering.

    I suppose there's no other way we can get these deals, like pricematching with somewhere else? Was really hoping to get a One (and get a little bummed when people get more than that).

    Penrith NSW, staff declared they had never heard of the sale at all, and it was probably confined to a few stores (their official line).

    Big W Penrith denied any console stock this morning (after 20mins out the back), they were also not aware of any clearance items or deals.
    Don't bother at this one, i'd say the staff are the only ones enjoying the bargains this time around.
