Just bought 1 each of blue, black and red for $17 all up. Can never have too many mfi lightning cables :)

  • +1

    Awesome price for certified cables

  • +1

Got 2xWhite + 2xBlack, to replace all these cheap cables I have.

  • Grabbed a few for home and the office and the kids, they always break anyway

  • +2

Amazing how apple has managed to create a new norm of hording their cables because they are known to break…

    • +5

I have never broken an Apple branded lightning cable … What do you do with them?

Edit …. Oow the downvotes, sorry guys, I'll never be honest again.

      • +1

The outer coating tends to split or break where the wire meets the plug. The durability is pretty terrible.

      • +1

same thing when you ask, "what did you do to your phone's screen? how come it crack?"

  • It says online exclusive. Can't do c&c?

    • Yes I did C&C

  • Thanks, bought 3 black ones. So I know which are which.

    • You'll know anyway, regardless of colour. These have chunkier ends and thicker cable that others.

I've had a couple for a while and they're holding up well. Definitely recommend.

  • Thanks ops - got three.

  • Are these MFi

    • Yep the box says MFi. Confirmed😎

      • I am looking at a box here. I cant see where it says that..

  • How to get in store pick up??

  • -5

Pretty expensive compared to some posted on Ozbaragin for around $2 and Australian stock, even eBay has $1 ones

Msy has lightening cables, which are local with Aussie warranty for $2.

    • +3

Belkin is a brand you can trust… In more than one way. I for sure know you can trust them to be hella more expensive than other brands. But they've also got the reputation to back it up.
Buying from DS means its (hopefully) not a fake Belkin product either.

  • Good price. Stocked up on another 4 cables ( not white ). Sick of the cheap crap ebay cables that work for a few months then die or arent recognised

    • Yes indeed

The cheap crap on feebay dont last more than a few months

  • Thanks OP, got 8 cables for myself and my parents.

  • +5

Keep in mind these cables have connectors that are slightly smaller than official Apple cables. The box says designed for iPad mini and iPhone 5

I have a 6plus and bought these cables. The thing would not click into my phone nicely (with and without case)

    • For MFI, they have to use the same supplier as apple for the actual tips that go into the device. If you are having issues, it might be a fake?

      • +1

Yes it may have been a fake, however I purchased it through DSE Ebay, and did a click and collect with my local dicksmith (randwick), went I got home the plug didn't fit nicely in my 6+ and would literally fall out if I held the phone upright. The phone also would not charge. So it may have been a fake, but that fake was purchased and collected at a dicksmith store.

If anyone buys one and has a 6 or 6+ it might save you a trip back to the store to test that it plugs in, and even charges before going home with it.

FYI. I returned mine with the receipt with no hassles. I simply told them it didnt work and they offered me an exchange or refund.

ps. my initial comment regarding a smaller connector came from reading this part of the belkin product description
        'Product Description
The smaller, more durable lightning connector is also reversible, which makes plugging it in easier than ever.' But I think that may have been referring to the old style iphone connector vs lightning. Eitherway, the product I got from my local DSE didn't fit my iphone 6+, the guys at the store were very surprised at that fact as well so maybe I just got a dud

        • +2

          What colour did you buy?
I am just about to collect from Randwick and don't want to get your re-packed dud :p

        • @oz-dave:

it was a black one fyi

        • @rag3:

          Thanks :-)
Mine were sealed, and a different colour, so I suspect I didn't get yours ;-)

    • +1

I purchased a Belkin cable for my iphone 6 plus last year from JB HiFi and it would not connect/charge.

    • +1

My iphone 6 is charging fine, clicks in fine also.

  • Hi guys,
I can't seem to do c&c? Any help? Thanks

    • Do it from desktop not via mobile site.

  • Limited Lifetime Warranty = unlimited free replacements if ever stops working properly?

    ps cheaper+better than kmart :)

    • +1

Or until Belkin no longer makes this type of product.

    • Lifetime of the product e.g while it's still in production. Not YOUR lifetime.

    • Says only 2 year on the box. cant see where it says on Belkin's website.

      • so dj/estore/vps are all wrong? :(

        at least it's better than 1yr :)

  • its only 15cm :( too short for me

  • Is it really 15cm? that is super short. Pic says 15cm, description says 1.2m….
    I'm going off the description

  • +2

Do these not work with iPhone 6?

    WORKS WITH:

    iPad Air
    iPad (4th generation)
    iPad mini with Retina display
    iPad mini
    iPhone 5/5s/5c
    iPod touch (5th generation)
    iPod nano (7th generation)

  • One someone explain how to click and collect please?

    • I couldn't do it on mobile, had to request the full desktop site.

      • Thankyou

      • +1

        This always bugs me.

  • +1

Bought 6 black click and collect. Hopefully no problems with iphone 6 (universal lightning cable - surely must work). I'm sitting next to me with a shitty ebay cable that keeps charging on and off.

  • Thanks OP - got 3

  • +1

    bought one for $12 just 2 weeks ago………….. :(
    what can I do?

    • +5

      Cry

    • +5

Buy more to make up for it.

    • +2

Think about it all weekend and how you could of saved $7 if you had waited.
Get the family involved in all the dwelling as well

AU $2.65 on eBay, albeit from China and no box included

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-BELKIN-8-Pin-Lightning-to…

    • +1

no box, "genuine" and from china?
      Seems legit.

    • +1

There are ALOT of fake Belkin on eBay, even if they say Genuine, I highly doubt it.

      • -4

Well your doubt is incorrect and unsubstantiated, 581 sold with not a single negative or neutral feedback and a raft of positive feedback

        • I would rather pay the extra $3 and guarantee that it's genuine, and receive the items in a few days, then buy from eBay, which is taking a gamble on authenticity and waiting for weeks to arrive.

        • You seriously think that is genuine? You know sellers can get negative feedback removed right? Surely with a little common sense you know its not going to be genuine for $2.65 just because the write "genuine" in the title when its coming from China, without any packaging whatsoever that could even help resemble a genuine product

    • +2

Do not buy the ones that say belkin off eBay from China they are absolutely crap and fake. I got all excited and bought 3 thinking they were real but once I received them realised they were fake. They stopped working within a few days and when I plugged it into my phone it would give me a message saying unsupported device.

      • -5

Come on - do some reading. The ad also states:

"If you want the Original Retail Box please leave me a message or send me an e-mail."

There are also multiple photos of the retail boxes that are likely belonging to the seller.

Just because something is from China does not mean it is fake - that is such an ill-informed generalisation.

        • +1

Your extremely rude, have you actually purchased one from China and tried it yourself? My one did come with "original packaging" they even replicated that. Anyway my comment was to warn other people no need to get so defensive.

  • -1

Ok.. got a couple pink ones. Just so's anyone who uses them in my car realizes that it's a girly thing for girly people with girly phones.

  • Grabbed a blue and a purple. Thanks.

  • Thanks op fantastic deal grabbed 3.

  • Picked up the last one at carindale! Thanks OP

  • Thanks picked up 3.

$6.50 on ebay with free postage if anyone doesn't live close to dick smith

    Edit: genuine au seller

    • +1

      I'd still be skeptical..

      • +1

Going by their feedback, I wouldn't take the risk. One person reporting no box.

  • My local store lists cables as being out of stock on the individual product pages, but when I choose a shop to Click and Collect from under 'Shopping Cart', it's listed as available. Placed an order anyways, but should I be worried about having my order cancelled?

    • +1

The out of stock initially, is because it's an online only deal, and blocks us c&c but because the website is so retarded, you can click and collect lol. I wouldn't worry.

  • Seems to have gone back to $20 price

good cable though, got some last time when they were on special

  • +2

Still available on their eBay store including C&C

  • Has anyone tried to collect without getting a confirmation of order ready email? About to go to the shops soon but to save another trip, should I ask if my order is ready while there?

    • I haven't had any collect confirmation yet…

edit: speak of the devil, confirmation just arrived for collection

    • Just ordered 5 via C&C on their ebay store, no problems

      • I tried 3 times using the Chrome browser. Got the same message.

Tried through Firefox and it went through ok.

  • Picked mine up this morning.

Not sure if its just me worrying but these appear to be a bit thinner then the ones from Harvey Norman?

    • +1

These are definitely thinner than the "genuine' ones I bought from a Chinese ebayer.
I am thinking both are fake..

The box says Australian warranty details inside, but there is nothing inside..

      • Yeah I got nothing inside either. It seems to work fine but if I get any error messages then I will return it

  • bought my rainbow lol

  • Sick…! They just refunded me without leaving any message or any apology !?
Anyone got same issue C&C at DS Garden city?

    • same here!
no any message for any reason!

      • No but I got a text this morning saying my order was ready … Then a call from the local dick smith saying the funds hadn't cleared from head office and they would call me back to confirm after Monday … Typical

  • +1

How to tell fake Belkin cable from the real deal.

    https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/416POmcr1YL.SL256.jpg

      • Same thing in the US site with Amazon- however lots of reports of fakes.

    • according to this image, the cables i picked up from dick smith this morning would be fake then.
it is 14cm, and i got the red and white one.
able to charge though without any error messages.

      • Just picked mine up from North Lakes now. I suspicious (and intrigued) that these may be fakes based on the photo link above.

Will report back when I get home, measure and plug in (wow! That statement didn't sound nearly as filthy before i typed it…)

        • Well… my blue cable is 12mm. What does that mean?
edit: that makes it the exact same size as the OEM lightning cables.
