Any issues with the middle click?

    • Never.

    • Probably just sucks if it's like every other HyperScroll wheel I've tried. Poor tactile feedback, too easy to accidentally tilt, or something else that indicates click/tilt is an afterthought.

      • really? ive had my 950T for a good 4 years, ive never had a problem

        • +1

Never has been a problem for those who favour HyperScroll wheels. That's why Logitech is confident enough to release models that just omit either function altogether, with little complaint about their absence.

      • I've a G502 … there's a little button to press to enable or disable hyperscroll. With hyperscroll on, I was constantly hitting it accidentally and hated the mouse until I realised there was a toggle button!

    • I need to replace my two year old RAT7 with a Middle click issue.. :( :( Not happy Jan

  • Awesome mouse. Been using one since release (when previously launched as the PerformanceMX mouse). Only selling our as the new model arrived not long ago (the one with the scrolly wheel near the thumb position). But at this price it should sell out quickly.

not a fan of the M950T after using the MX Master (home) and MX Revolution (work).
Sold my brand new spare M950T on ebay for $88… so this is a good price

    • +2

I've got a 7 year old mx revo at home, and just picked up another that someone at work was going to throw out. They are great mouses.

      • +4

        They are great mouses.

        Mouses FTW.

Oh man, this made me laugh, then I told my missus who is an editor who reverse egged me:
"The online Oxford Dictionaries entry for mouse states the plural for the small rodent is mice, while the plural for the small computer connected device is either mice or mouses."
That's the last time I aks her a question.

      • Similar experience with me, but on the VX rev. it was smaller/laptop version of the MX, if I recall correctly.
Until I busted the BIG ass dongle that came with :(

I got this mice from a previous sale, yet to use it, but will when I fix my PC.
I think it was around this price also?

No date on the receipt :S

    • +2

Dates on the bottom of the receipt. Can upload it if you want

      • Would you mind terribly? I'd rather avoid being turned away by he young kids running he register.

  • Im assuming this isnt recommended as a gaming mouse?

    • +2

Don't game with wireless. Extra latency + that feeling when the battery runs out mid game…

      • Most mouses have a battery life of two weeks or more, it's just poor planning if it runs out while you're gaming.

        • +2

          2 weeks?

Heck I use my mouse all day long and I'd get more like 6 - 12 months!

    • +3

It's not a gaming mouse, no, but you can still use it for gaming well enough. If gaming is your primary concern, then yeah, maybe look at a different (wired) option. I'm not a hugely competitive gamer, so it suits me just fine.

    • +1

I must admit that I am half tempted to grab it for work.

There was some good Dick Smith specials on last night for a cheap Logitech Gaming Mouse but couldnt bring myself to pull the trigger as I dont game heaps.. but I want to though..

      • Wouldn't Logitech M570 (trackball mouse) be better for work? Well I guess it depends what you do for work..

    • +3

i use it to play games.there is an indicator on the mouse showing the battery level. you can tell if the battery needs to be recharged easily. as to latency, those pretend-to-be-pro kids need someone/something to blame. surely if you are really a pro, its (maybe) another story.

    • +1

Don't listen to these people, you can use literally anything you want for anything.

For the past 5 years I've been using a G700 then a G700s from Logitech (I know it's their gaming wireless mouse but I have used other smaller ones for laptop gaming), I use it for many things and gaming is one of them, like all wireless devices it does drop out every now and again (very rarely tho). The whole Extra latency crap only applies when you are playing at a professional level, for a causal gamer this mouse would do fine (or any mouse that can work with your computer for that matter)

I'm not a professional driver, would I need a formula 1 car to get to work? No, I need a car that does the job with comfort and reliability. You don't need the best of the best mice to game, you need a mouse that does the job with comfort and reliability, if this mouse is it then I say go for it. (it's also at a really good price)

If it sweetens the deal for anyone. You can put an Eneloop inside one of these for that ultimate OB feeling.

The user reviews are pretty bad on CNET.

This is the mouse I've been using for the last 4 years, I love it and won't use anything else. There is a common issue with the left click wearing out, causing it to register a double-click when it's only been clicked once. Because I spend my life online I wear mine out pretty quickly, I usually get 18 months out of it but sometimes only 12 months. I've run into this issue 3 times, and it's widely reported online. Each time replaced under warranty with no problem, but it's an issue. I'll be trying the MX Master when this one dies.

    • +1

The mx revolution had the same issue - probably has the same switches. If you're dedicated then you can open them and solder a new switch in place. The switches themselves only cost about $1.20.

    • I've had this mouse for long enough that I've forgotten when exactly I got it, but at least 3-4 years of constant use.
No double-click issue here, although I will say the mouse buttons feel a little loose (I can gently tap the left click and it will make a noise without clicking). It's not an issue, but something that always made it not feel completely solid to me.

Recently purchased the MX Master for work and finding that great too. These mice are comfy, work anywhere, and can be recharged while in use with a micro usb cable.

      • Is the MX master a worthwhile upgrade?

        • It's definitely an improvement with clicking and the wheel. It's a little bit raised for my liking though. I think I find the Performance mouse to be a bit comfier despite its size. Probably not worth an upgrade until you're ready for one. My Performance mouse looks a bit old now, but it still performs well.
If you have a need for using one mouse for multiple machines, the MX would be worthwhile to upgrade for convenience alone.

        • @Adamiam: Well I don't really like the logitech receiver poking out of my computer…I bought it last time it was on special at JB for $55.

Tech youtubers like MKBHD, uraverageconsumer and others all used to use the performance MX it as their go to mouse.

They have all since upgraded to the MX master

        • @knick007: True, that's another great reason to upgrade - bluetooth support. Like I said, the mouse is better than the Performance mouse. But this is Ozbargain, and I don't think it's worth the upgrade if you're still happy with your current mouse, unless there's a particular reason. I got mine on an Ozbargain deal to replace a different mouse.

        • @Adamiam: I am seriously tempted but I'll wait for a deal given this is ozbargain.

  • Great mouse. Been using it for 2 years and it hasn't missed a beat. Still using the same eneloop that came with the mouse. I can use it at work (without turning it off overnight) usually for at least 2 weeks before needing to recharge.

I just saw a Gaming Mouse at MSY for about $28 - now that's a fairly good deal! don't know what the brand was though…

  • I got one the other week as part of the MX800 bundle. It's nice to use, but it is a mouse for larger hands in my opinion. Find I have to keep lifting my thumb too much each time to reach the forward button. The scroll wheel is probably the worst thing about the mouse. Middle clicking is awfully stiff - requires quite a hard press each time. Horizontal scroll is so-so. I personally don't like the tilting - prefer the click my M560 makes, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

  • Is there a model for us left-handed people?

  • My favourite mouse and keyboard set is the Microsoft Ergonomic Desktop 7000. I had it since 2011, got it for next to nothing during the Microsoft cash back promotion. I used to get wrist pain, but after using the Ergonomic mouse and keyboard, the pain has disappeared. Only downside to the keyboard is the spacebar is quite loud.

  • I've had the Performance MX for about 5 years - I think it's the same mouse (I got it overseas) just a different code.

If you want a really good mouse, this is a really good price - get it.

  • I am after Logitech MX Master waiting for a good deal desperately as cheapest i can found is for $99 its still expensive as an OZ bargainer.

    • i got mine for like 82 bucks ;)

  • I just recently purchase two of these from Amazon US for $104 AUD delivered, so $52 each.

So that's a great price to buy locally.

However, I still much prefer my Logitech MX Anywhere mouse…more portable, same features and fits small hands better (btw I have big feet and nose!!!)

  • Was this an advertised/scanned price or did it require some bargaining?

    • It was $109 but I told the guy that I had seen it at another JB-HI-FI store (Canberra city) for $55 and then he just changed the price for me.

      • +1

        Ah ok cheers!

  • How do I get it for this price?

Do I just print out the image and present it at JB?

    Thanks, Steve

Just had a quick look on their website doesn't look like they sell them anymore…

The MX Master is the replacement for the M950t

I'd start phoning stores tomorrow and seeing if they have stock…

Either that or wait for a deal on the MX Master.
