NGD is not the greatest as they are a High Winds reseller, but this is about the cheapest block deal available. Most items listed on your indexer of choice will still be available. I use them as my primary with Astra as my backup. Astra is USD $50 for 1TB.
These NGD sales are relatively frequent. This is the 3rd time a 2TB deal has been offered in the last 6 months.
Perfect timing for me as I am currently at "You have used 3999.4 GB of the 4400 GB allowed".

Some indexers I can recommend some are open, some closed:
https://www.oznzb.com/register - pretty good, some great features, but relatively pricey. Aus based, $16 per year.
https://nzb.cat/ different index base to most.
https://althub.co.za/ Very reliable, basic but clean to use. USD $10 for life (I'm paid up there too)
http://nzbplanet.net/register - Actually never used them, but they're open. A bit ugly.

  • You should always have two accounts. A main one and a backup block account. I have NGD as my main as it’s the cheapest, and Astra as backup.
My split is NGD 89% Astra 11%. Most of my content is grabbed immediately upon release, I still get missing blocks on older items.

Is this used to legally download files?

    • Of course, what else would we use them for. Lots of linux distros and movie trailers….

  • There is also an unlimited Newgroup deal for $12US/month or $111US/year with free VPN (Ghost Path VPN). This is useful if you are a very heavy user (heavier than OP). For me, 1TB is good for a long time.

iiNet or internode can access newsgroups through news.internode.on.net, but with no SSL encryption. They can use this deal for the SSL encryption or to compliment the news.internode.on.net Newsgroup service (used as backup as snuke suggested).

    • Just do the math on what works out as best value.
If you download less than 342.86GB per month, then this deal is better value than their USD $12 per month unlimited.

  • Thanks OP! A third backup for my internode account.

  • do people still actually use newsgroups?

    • I can saturate my NBN line with it so yes

    • After September a lot more peeps will be .. imho

Am I the only one confused? I haven't been keeping up to date with this kinda stuff.

      first rule of newsgroup…… ;)

    • You must be pretty behind then… This stuff has been around since the 70's.

  • keep in mind that these guys were victims of a security exploit last year, credit card details were taken, and used! (took me a couple of months to go through the claim process with my bank)

    • Thanks, no PayPal either

  • lol that picture is used on game/app 94% :p

I dont get what this is either, is this really like the old, OLD news groups that shared stuff?
