Samsung EVO 64GB MicroSD $29 Delivered @ PC Byte

3400
samsarse

Remember this then this?. Well I think PC Byte was upset they couldn't get the 16GB cards yesterday, so they sourced another 1,000 units of 64GB at what I reckon is an incredible price (after some haggling from me lol). Cards do not come with SD adapters. Limited to 1 per person for fairness. Francesca will be around to take your questions. Good luck and have a great day :)

I'll double check but I'm sure I had a 32gb in the Y550…. Which we moved into the ZTE Blade S6. If not I'll test and let you know

    • +1

Yes, no problem. It just needs to ba formatted as FAT32. I've got one of these in my Y550.

    • I just checked it was a 16gb in the Y550….but MickeyG is on the money

And thank you for making this deal possible for us.

  • Just my 2c worth… Before buying 64gb microsd card (or even 32gb) check that you device supports that size. Learnt the hard way and now have many 32gb microsd in drawer from last sale. The most my contour action cam will support was 16gb. Im sure I will find a use for them in the future.

    • good advice.

I check most dashcam or security cam I look at only support upto 32GB.

    • Format to fat32 and see if it works. All of mine are using 64gb

  • +1

I have previously bought a fake samsung 64G micro SD from ebay, it was a 2G card formatted as 64G while all devices reported as 64G, once carry more than 2G the card starts throw errors or the files are unreadable.

Hope this is not the case for your item. In quite tempted. But still have the shadow in me.

Are you new to OzB? PC Byte (formerly MemoryCity) has sold literally thousands of cards via this site over the years. I'm sure if there was a single fake amongst them, they'd be uncovered by now.

      • +1

Yes I'm new to pc byte. Good to know and tks for sharing that. I guess so too.. Ppl talk..

        • Also they have an ABN alongside their brick and mortar store :)

    Thank you for saying it!
I CRINGE everytime I see a REP & deal getting plagued with tire-kickers, after posting great deals!

How about this… what about that… hey rep… me too rep…

Setup a groupbuy, or voting-system, or something. Not just hassling with something random you want on the day.

    • +1

Why not? If you look at the history of shopping express deals, people have asked and they have always put something together based on how many needed it.

I agree this is a different company, but when a lot of people ask for the same thing, gives smart retailers a sense of the market. And finally the decision is theirs whether they want to oblige or not.

      • I already suggest why not ;)

3200+ people have clicked on this deal. How can you suggest they get "a sense of the market" if <1% of that traffic asking for random stuff that they want.

I completely understand requests for grouped components…
ie: HP MicroServer deals, with people asking for the ECC RAM to go with it.

        • -2

You seem nice but just so that you can not cringe is not the best reason ;)

Looking at the comments most seem to want the microsd in different capacity`s. Those comments and the plus votes would say there is some interest.

And as it usually is if you don't like, move on. Even the tyre kickers as you call them hypothetically are still there because they are out to buy but you can't blame them for waiting for what they want.

Enough said by me at least, peace Utopian. Can the spell check be any more crazy

  • Thanks TA!

  • Ordered one. Thanks TA :)

I purchased one on line last night and paid with PayPal. So far I have the confirmation from PayPal but nothing - no confirmation from seller. Shouldn't this have come just after I placed the order?

How long does it generally take for item to be shipped Mod?

    • Same here

    • Same. Any news?

    • Hi brisneylander,

      Good morning.
Confirmation email should be instant, but due to a minor server issue, certain emails are bring queued up.
Please PM me your details, I will arrange to have your tax invoice emailed through.

We will ship all pending orders this morning =)

      Cheers
      Francesca

  • Hi francesca2148,

I have the same issue after completing the transaction. I didnt get a confirmation email. But got a Paypal confirmation. Can you send me the tax invoice through to my email. I've initially emailed [email protected] along with the order no. but have yet to get a response.

  • Love your work TA!

"Let the buyer beware" as this shop is also selling on eBay - some of the recent negative posts include fake cards to cards not working or extremely slow. I hope that some who have bought from them before have good ways of checking whether the cards are genuine.

    • +2

First comment on OzB and you come up with this doozy? You are aware PC Byte (formerly MemoryCity) has sold many thousands of cards via OzB and never once have they been accused of selling a fake? Don't you think they would have been exposed by now?

    • +5

I ordered one yesterday at 4pm, it arrived in the mail today before 9am. I got a genuine card and incredible service.

As for the "recent" negative eBay feedback, there was ONE negative claiming the card was fake in the past six months.
That's ONE negative out of 25,183 positives in the past six months. And SanDisk didn't verify it was fake, a shop claimed it was.

Going beyond six months, there were two claims of the card not working where the buyers made a flippant "might be fake" comment.
And two more where the buyers were certain their two cards were fake, but PC Byte commented that the supplier verified they were genuine.

Were the buyers ripped-off? No, the feedback response seems to indicate they all were refunded.

So, confirmed fakes sold on eBay from PC Byte? Zero.
Positive feedback received in the same time? 43,723.

      • +1

Great feedback for PC Byte. Thanks :)

      • +1

I wonder how many of the negs saying Fake were simply that their devices cant handle high capacity cards. And the buyer jumping to conclusions.

        • +2

For sure. Or expecting UHS speeds when their device only has a high-speed bus.

There's also likely the opposite issue where someone buys a fake card, tries it in their GoPro and it doesn't work, then shouts loudly that the brand and model don't work with GoPros.

I run my cards through FakeFlashTest or h2testw before first use, uncommon as it is to get a dud genuine card, I don't want to find out mid-filming.

  • Great deal TA and PC Byte

  • I purchased one on line last night and paid with PayPal. So far I have the confirmation from PayPal but no confirmation from seller.

  • Hi Francesca

Ordered at approx 9:30 AM. Chose bank transfer payment.
    Transferred money immediately.

    Still no email.

    Can you check please?

For some reason, I can't PM you.
    No idea why…

    • Hi nsg, I PM'ed you.

  • I am same as many
Paid via PayPal yesterday, received PayPal invoice, but no other communications or Tax Invoice or Tracking details.
And now after a member has pointed me to their eBay feedback, seems there is now more to be concerned about.
Like Shipping and the Card being Genuine or working at the Speed Advertised.
    Hopefully all is well.

    • Hi sweetnipples, please drop me a PM.

      • Sadly, i can not PM you, but an email has been sent to your gmail address, the one attached to your PayPal account.
Thank you for the prompt reply.

  • Ahh solid price! However I think it's not particularly fast enough for my Hero 4 Silver :(

  • not after one but I hope this is a weekly Arse deal, say, different size each week. PC Byte will make a killing, get great advertising, and the customer has a happy grin from the good deal they got.

  • I ordered an hour ago. Got the payment email from paypal, but no email from seller. I can't remember my order number

    • Its on your PayPal transaction.

  • Ordered yesterday afternoon and already in my mail today!! Thumbs up

  • +1

Ordered yesterday night and received this morning. That was unexpected!

  • Bugger, missed it.

    • its only $5 more, still a good price I guess.

  • Hi Francesca. Have yesterday's orders been shipped yet? I saw a post that you aimed to ship them all today, but I haven't received any email confirming this yet

    My order is 100009360. Thanks

    • Hi brisneylander,

      Good morning.
Your order was dispatched yesterday, my colleague updated the status around 6pm to shipped =)

      Cheers
      Francesca

  • Hi Rep thanks for the sD card I received today. Superfast delivery but on the back of the packaging I can only see Chinese words all over. Is this a genuine Samsung stock as one I bought from MSY earlier has English only on the packaging. thanks

    • Hi jeronrocks,

      Good afternoon.
Based on our product, there's both Chinese and English details on the packaging. That's standard =)

      Cheers
      Francesca

  • Hi Francesca, the discount code is not working :( Has the deal expired?

    • Expired yesterday, as per the details on the post :)

  • Still no reply from Francesca, no email of transaction and/or tracking.
Just a PayPal transaction email from PayPal
Have emailed and PM'd Francesca, no luck :(

Anyone else suffer this problem too?

    • Hi sweetnipples,

      Good morning.
I've sent you a PM a minute ago, please reply to it.
Alternatively, please call us on (02) 9748 8958

      Cheers
      Francesca

      • Francesca,

I've got the same problem. Ordered through PayPal 14/7/15 buthave heard nothing since

  • Hi guys, long time OzBargainer, first time poster here.

Have been on the site for a while and have loved every cent I've saved from the great deals. I couldn't pass on this one last week and was very happy with the quick delivery of the item I got last week. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working. I took it out of the packaging, put it into an SD card converter, connected it to my PC and the card showed up as showing only 1MB of space.

I tried formatting it to exFAT and just FAT (default) on Windows to no avail. It's really frustrating because this is the first time I've been burned by a OzBargain deal. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong as PC Byte seems to have regular customers through OzBargain, but I really cant think of anything. Can anyone help or say if they experienced something similar?

    Cheers!

    • +1

      Hi a gups,

      Good morning.
The card might have multiple partitions. Would you be able to go to "Disk Management" and check partitions on the card while it is connected to the system.
Sometimes, it gets split like this: http://i.imgur.com/KQTZ5ut.png

      Any issues, please PM me.

      Cheers
      Francesca

      • Hi Francesca

Thanks for the quick reply. Doesn't appear to be any multiple partitions, all I can see is that it is exFAT and says Healthy (Primary Partition) with 1MB capacity.

I'm unable to send you a PM as I've just signed up, have to wait 24 hours. What would be the next step in getting a new card, would you be able to send me a replacement? I did send an email on Saturday morning to [email protected] regarding this issue but haven't received a reply yet.

Please let me know what needs to be done.

    • +1

You haven't been burned, just inconvenienced. There may be a manufacturing problem with the card, which is no fault of PC Byte - this is why we have warranties.

PC Byte are great to deal with when there is a problem like this.

      • Cheers Thrift, as I said above I'm sure it wasn't PC Byte's fault at all. Just wanted to know if anyone else had something similar happen with their cards or if I was doing something wrong. It appears as if it is a manufacturing fault though so I'm sure PC Byte will be as great as they have been and provide me with a replacement :)

If you believe this YouTube video, then the card i have had delivered is a Fake!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY9fjv4Bw-k

    But how do we know?
Is there a website to tell, as with some other brands?

    • Out of the thousands of cards sold by PC Byte via OzB, you suspect a fake? Cool story.

      • You might need to learn to read properly tightarse.

My concern is, going on that YouTube video, i am asking, is there another way to verify?

        • +1

You conveniently edited your comment just before I responded. Your 'concern' and 'question' was added in your edit.

    • the card i have had delivered is a Fake!

So your card failed in H2testw?

    • +1

Here's three Samsung EVO cards from PC Byte I had at hand, a 32GB purchased earlier this year and two 64GB from the recent deals.

All three tested fine to their expected capacities: http://i.imgur.com/XNzKVOH.png
