Never get tired of this. I think I've finally found my niche… negotiator

    where is your rep tag?

    • +9

Haters will always hate. This has been explained clearly in a previous post.

        • +4

i dont get why people get so worked up over this.

        • -4

@BlazinPast: im not worked up at all, but when someone is working for the company as an unpaid sales staff they should identify themselves as such imho

        • +20

nosdan, as far as I'm concerned, the only person/s that needs to know whether I'm a rep or not is scotty and his team. They are fully aware of what I'm doing, and they have no issue with it. I'll say it one more time, I'm not a rep, I'm not associated, I'm not anything. All I am is a person trying to find people bargains. Nothing more, nothing less. Now if you're not happy with my explanation, feel free to report me. If you don't like my posts, block me. But be clear there's one thing you can't do, and that's stop me posting deals. I have no desire to communicate further with ungrateful people such as you. The link you refer to is here (second paragraph). Have a great night.

        • -1

          @tightarse: woah dude, calm down.
I'm preeeetty sure neither nosdan or I are ungrateful, just curious.

        • +3

@nosdan: What difference does it make? TA is getting good bargain deals for his fellow Ozbargainers. If you don't like, don't + it and move on, like I do for Aldi deals. But there is not point in objecting some especially when they are helping others.

        • -3

          "you are" not your

        • nice

        • +4

          @jaykay:
Actually, the alternate to "your" would be "you're" not "you are". That said, we know you weren't serious as correcting spelling or grammar on the Net is a fool's wit.

        • +1

@nosdan: do you have any idea what you're talking about?

The rep tag is for store representatives. These are usually employees — usually either social media management or marketing. They're able to answer specific questions on the product or logistics (i.e "how long will it take before its dispatched", "how many do you have in stock", "can we also get a deal on item x?"). There is also the associated tag for friends or family of the store (i.e "my parents opened up a thai restaurant, we're having specials for the first week").

TA is neither of these things. His position is merely contacting the marketing group and trying to negotiate a bargain for OzBargain users. This is almost always in our favor, as it leads to different platforms competing over sales (as we saw with the Samsung EVO microSD cards over the last couple of days).

You've been here since 2012, so it is obvious you know all of this. Stop trying to mislead others with your intentional ignorance.

        • @tightarse: I know why you are doing this… you are doing this to make reps create codes that contains the word "arse", and share that code with the Ozbargain community. I cannot wait to see more codes like, arsedisk, arsesan, facearse, switcharse, arsescreen, etc etc.

Thank you so much for sharing these codes with us, btw :)

        • +2

@AznMitch: Looking forward to the deal where the code is "ARSEnic"

        • @unity1:

It would have to be for a network card of some sort! :)

      • Mind linking that so the curious can read? I only ever look at the titles in the RSS feed so I missed what you said.

    • If… (i said IF)… he is a rep… he's more likely to be a Samsung and Sandisk rep… not so much to PCByte or SE…

      Chill buddy…

      • +3

Should be an Ozbargain rep as TA is representing Ozbargain, and organising deals on behalf of Ozbargainers

    • +1

      where is your rep tag?

      Where's your troll tag???

  • +10

You are the only tightarse I could love, thank you.

  • +6

@tightarse, can you work on getting a deal for a MB+i5+8GB+CASE+PS, then another deal on 27in+ Monitor and graphics card?

    • +3

      Santa Clause? Haha

      • +1

I second that 27" monitor deal negotiation! :) time to release the dell ultrasharp hostages

  • +7

I am quiet sure that it would be an OzBargain rep tag as he represents all true ozbargainers :)

  • Wow damn good work!

  • +5

TA please work on an MX Master deal PLEASEEE

  • wwww.tightarse.com.au/bargains/FIGJAM

    • You think he loves himself?

    • Why did I click that link at work? Nothing sus came up but the proxy logs are going to get a laugh from our network guys.

      • +1

        That's why I put 4 w's , 3 w's would have got me banned.lol

  • Thanks a lot! Almost pulled the plug on the Amazon deal but don't mind paying $4 more for local warranty! BTW, I can't find a review for this, anyone manage to find one don't mind putting the link down. Ta.

    • My google-fu has come up naught. Only found a 'review' which was some kid unboxing one on youtube, no actual use or insight into speeds though.

Would love to find the IOPS somewhere, but I can't find squat.

      • +1

Exactly! But for $106 I might just pull the trigger even without a review. Still mad I didn't just buy the Arc 100 at $109 few weeks ago :(

      • google-fu

        Nice!

  • +2

I prefer to get samsung rather than sandisk as two sandisk SSD died only in one year, and retailer retured them to metro like Mel, Syd for reparing, and it always take more than one month, so bad.

    • MLC nand Sandisk drives are good.. TLC nand drives not as much

  • +3

Great deal, T.A, could you get something for 480GB as well ? :)

  • Excellent price! Well done TA! Thank you :)

  • +3

Only 500 units in stock, so act fast.

Is that supposed to be a small quantity?
    Great deal TA

  • Thank you very much, Tightarse!

  • This works with laptops right?

Like, mSata is the same thing as Sata… It will fit, just jam it in.

    • +6

That's a good life tip there.

    • Much to learn, you still have.

      Can't tell if serious, or…

      • Think you better check your facts mate

        • Feel free to prove your claim.

        • @Utopian:

Your accusing me of something, so you should provide your evidence…

          "Guilty until proven"

        • @inose: "personal attack" is hilarious. I was being polite & repeating your text above.

You're welcome to explain how two different connectors are the same. But you can't.

          "Rubbish until proven"

        • @Utopian:

You resorted to name childish name calling. In life, that's not being polite?

Also in life, when you accuse someone of being wrong, you give a reason. That's how it goes. And that's where "proven until guilty" comes from lol.

But you don't seen to get that either. So whatever, you're wasting time.

        • @inose: I never called anyone a name. I couldn't even ask if you were on drugs, due to having no concept of the conversation we were having - And getting everything backwards. If I claim that a car can grow inside a potato, it's your job to prove it's false?? No. That's inane.

This all started with you giving false information, and refusing to retract it.

  • +2

    Thanks "Mr Constricted Posterior".

  • +1

While obviously a bargain and another great coupon code. Umart have the same one for $115 ($9 saving still good and all) so much less of a saving than people think.

    http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id…

    • +3

      Did you add shipping?

      • +2

Well of course not but then I do live in Brisbane. I did mean to mention that sorry.

Edit: just seen you got negged. Wasn't me as you are correct in terms of shipping it would be $19 extra (if you use direct deposit otherwise $22 extra). But for local people to Umart with cash its a small saving.

        • Cheers. Thanks for the feedback.

  • +2

@Tightarse — you're pretty good. Maybe you can have my job!

  • Thanks just need it for my laptop.

  • Nice one, thanks

  • Good job TA, any good deals on samsung ssd!! THx.

  • "Not the fastest SSD on the market"
Really? The usual marketing specs are as mental as anything else. No reviews, real specs available.

Mainly just marketing info on the drive, but it's Sandisk, it's NEW, and it's CHEEEEAP!

Got an Ultra II from the MSY deal yesterday, but I'll grab this too, for older machines!

    • -1

You could get a Samsung 850 EVO for $140, twice as fast.

      • +4

Sorry, but "twice as fast" isn't real.
I can drive just as fast to work in a Mazda or Maserati.
Spending more doesn't avoid the same limits I hit, and hitting those limits 1/2 second earlier means nothing to the average user.

  • Got one, Cheers OP

  • +6

I can't hate you since I don't know you, however I was also curious what your association with the company is - my automatic assumption was you receive some sort of kickback. Twice I've ordered from Shopping Express because of deals posted here and twice I've been burnt. While many here may know you, majority don't so (& don't take this the wrong way) it can't hurt to mention in your post description that you're doing this for the community and not for personal gain.

    • I read & understand what you said.

But who cares?? What does it matter?

He's helped create a deal than didn't exist. How/why would there be more of a story. The deal is there, it's straight-forward. If you want it, grab it.

      • +2

Well only +/-15% of people who checked out this deal gave it a positive vote so apparently quite a few people care. I certainly cared enough to write some positive criticism, felt it might help to bring some enlightenment about what the general public thought.

But fine, how about this then.

Amazon have a 240GB Sandisk for AU$15 cheaper, including delivery.

PS. The amount of people who comment, even buy, and don't vote really sucks here.

        • @Utopian:
You've just linked the same deal I mentioned, not sure what your getting at.

        • +2

Final price not really $15 cheaper. The price on title a bit confusing because the actual price is in USD.

          The Amazon deal.

        • @Ebany: I showed it's already here. My purchases & advice are based on the cheapest on the day. I've commented plenty to reflect it.

          @superforever Huh?

        • @superforever:
I was unaware the deal had been posted, in fact a purchase had been made before either TA or EA posted these deals.

The price is not wrong, one of my friends pointed me to the deal. She purchase x2 of them for document back-up and paid about AU$94 each including delivery.

          @Utopian:
          |PS. The amount of people who comment, even buy, and don't vote really sucks here.|

You're correct, the voting system here is abysmal. I'd possibly do a "-" vote on the whole deal as I was looking at a better price on Amazon before this deal was even posted, but I couldn't be bothered as I find any comment here must be rigorously defended - hence why I don't post deals anymore.

        • @Utopian:
I've been aware since this deal was posted that it wasn't the cheapest, hence my comments.

p.s. Anyway, I only wanted to place a comment suggesting that a small part of the description could say the OP had no affiliation with the company - my mistake for trying to help.

        • @Ebany: Local vs. Overseas, though.

          Agreed on not posting deals.

  • +1

Cheers tightarse :) You can even select the insurance cover postage option for the same price!

  • +5

Thanks OP and thanks ShoppingExpress. Certainly becoming a retailer in the forefront of my mind when contemplating purchases!

    any chance for 480GB ???

  • I'm a hard drive noob.

Can this replace this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152…

    • Yes. And destroy it's performance, in every aspect.

There are a ton of SSD deals at the moment, and you'll kick yourself if you don't buy one of them.

      • Thanks! Went with this offer instead - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/202840

It's was a bit confusing try to get my Samsung all-in one open but I did it! Huge difference!!! I think the drive in there had partly failed it was essentially unusable with that POS in there.

  • I see SE are located in Alexandria. Do they actually have a shopfront for pick ups and drop off [warranty purposes] or are they purely online only???

    • We are online only at this stage of our business.

      Cheers

  • Have been on the lookout for an ssd to revive an old laptop for a while now, this price is right! Thanks :-)

  • +4

Yeah I had enough headaches with this Brand of SSD… Cheap and shit, lasted me a year then just died, got replacement under warranty… died on me after a month, so they gave my money back! but not my time

  • +1

Not the fastest SSD on the market

That hardly matters in real-world usage

  • Many thanks tightarse, grabbed one.

  • Can you get some dse bargains!

  • Just had to get one of these! Will these work in a Macbook Pro 2010?

    • Yes

      • Will this work in a 2006 unibody MacBook?

        • yup it should - if you meet up with compatibility issues, let me know

        • @ShoppingExpress: Will I have compatibility issues? I.e. Can you confirm it is compatible?

      • Hi Rep!

Do you guys use AusPost? I would like to send this to my parcel locker.

        • yes we do

  • Legend… wait for it… dary! Legendary! - Barney Stinson

These are so fine ass deals you got through negotiations with the reps. Do you take requests? If so, can you try working on the GTX 980 Ti ;)

  • Im sad that I cant justify buying this as I have a spare 850 Pro 256G sitting beside my desk :(

    • you shouldn't be sad. The Samsung 850 Pro is the king of SATA SSD.

  • Good job tightarse, you make me want to be a better man.
