    iPhone 6 16GB

    deal breaker…

    • +1

You can always go for the 64GB version :-)

      • which is $185 more…deal breaker(16 gb deal is good comparatively )

        • +2

16 gb deal is good comparatively

not if you want to actually use it for anything other than a phone…

        • +5

You would be surprised how many people only use it as a phone with web browsing. My wife for one. She currently has a Samsung note edge and now wants an iPhone 6. So all I will get her is the 16gb model. Not all smart people like us use these smartphones to their full potential like my wife.

        • Is $874 a bad price for the 64gb?

        • @whooah1979: Yes, considering we have seen $899 for Australian stock

        • +2

@dlakers3peat: You use your wife to her full potential?

        • @unity1: What deal was that with please ?

        • +1

I barely use my wife at all. Her "potential" was lost when we had kids.

        • @dlakers3peat: no selfies? no dubsmash?

        • @unity1: youre comparing australian stock for a 16GB model with a import model that has 64GB…id say its not a bad price

        • +1

@tomleonhart: Sorry, it was a past COTD deal back in May. I'm just using that to highlight it's possible you may find similar local deals at that price point in due course.

        • @unity1: cool. I missed that deal.

        • @jv:

My work i6 has 500 photos, 5 videos, 300 songs, various apps for games, travel, sporting, etc

Not bad for a basic 16GB iPhone.

My 128GB personal iPhone on the other hand……. ^_^

      • I think I'll wait for the 6S.

        • Not far away, pressure sensitive screen may be cool if thats what they go with

        • WHEN?

        • +1

          @LoopyLou:

Most likely in about 2 months…

        • @jv:

But this is likely why Kogan has cheap stock.

Are you you saying you're going to pay full price?

        • @LoopyLou:

Are you you saying you're going to pay full price?

Nope, I always buy them on a plan…

          @jv:

          Why are you downvoted?

        • @LoopyLou:
September. as always for a new apple release. :)

        • @LoopyLou:

          Why are you downvoted?

inferiority complex is most likely the cause…

          Because he is jv

Depends. Before our son was born, I was ok with my 16GB iPhone 5s. After that, I had to move the videos and photos to my computer every a few days…

      • So true

    • +1

Can't believe they actually release a 16GB version; if it's anything like Android there is not much left after OS load.

  • +1

Shall I wait for another 2 months?
    Besides, I don't like these:

    • AU/NZ Compliant Generic Charger
    • AU/NZ Compliant Generic Adapter

    • +2

      I don't like Kogan.

      Neither does his mum…

      • +1

sorry I edit my post to remove the name.

        • sorry I edit my post to remove the name.

          So did his mum…

    • Generic Charger

Doesn't matter I have about 20 genuine ones.

      • Hoarder much!

  • -1

Simple, I'll just add a MicroSD card to expand the….. oh (profanity). can't

    • +2

You just need to know where to stick it.

      • I know there is a case for the s6 which holds a sd slot that couples to the micro USB port…. And has a battery built in…wonder if they would do the same for the i6 if its possible.

  • +2

Similar deal approx. same time as last year, with 20% off eBay, I was able to get iPhone5s for $550. Wish eBay has another 20% off now.

    • or from 6 weeks ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/197107
will be interesting to see if this post gets more votes (perhaps only because it also offers a 64gb version)

      • Juding from the popularity of the 16GB version, I predict the 500 16GB unit version will be sold out by 3pm today.

        • I don't use a lot of storage, or at least that's what I thought.

          Just checked…. 30GB in use.

        • Sold out 3 Hours 20 Minutes earlier.

        • @charisma: lol

  • +1

16gb is sufficient for normal daily use, web browsing, music and photos.

    • +1

It's sufficient for me and i use it everyday for work to take photos/videos :)

  • Oh.. you can send it to the iCloud. ;)

  • I can't seem to find it on cashrewards.com.au

    Anyone find it already?

  • +4

Actually it's enough for everything, just need to delete things now and then or get it backuped if that doesn't bother you.

And someone on this forum sound likes a very grumpy, unhappy Middle Aged woman, and I won't need to mention…

    • I'm sure you are NOT talking about jv

  • Grabbed one, thanks OP

  • +1

I think with the way the A$ is going down, I don't see much drop in price for this phone when the newer one is released..

Thanks OP, Mum, You have been upgraded!

Im new to grey import iPhones. Can we still claim warranty through Apple in Aus?

    • you can always buy Applecare here, and all will be good :)

      • +2

So that's a no? Unless I have AppleCare I cant claim warranty with Apple in Aus?

        • +1

I believe warranty is international, so will be good for 1 year. Now Australian laws says 2 years warranty for electrical goods sold in Australia, and Apple agrees to this, so if you buy Australian stock, you get 2 years warranty, where as for grey import, you have 1 years. Depends on if Apple Australia is in good mood or not, you might also get the second year warranty, else its only 1 year for grey imports

I think this apply to most electrical goods

        • @punk000:

          I believe warranty is international,

No. Not for iPhone nor for iPad with cellular capability.

so will be good for 1 year.

No, not in Australia for privately imported iPhones first sold in countries other than Australia or New Zealand.

One year in the market/country of original sale. One does not know if the phone one imports from Kogan HK Limited was first sold in Hong Kong (China) or USA or Europe. or even Australia.

Depends on if Apple Australia is in good mood or not, you might also get the second year warranty, else its only 1 year for grey imports.

Please post a link to this new Apple policy. Only policy/warranty/guarantee I can find states that iPhones are only covered in the country of first sale.

While I have not had any experience with warranty on grey imports Apple products, others have had "business as usual" warranty claim on grey imports http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2177938&p… (but then that maybe a Kogan representative trying to push their sale). Worse come to worst you can always post the phone to its country of origin I guess.

Don't know if you want link for Apple two years warranty for local stock or not http://www.afr.com/business/retail/apple-gives-australians-t…

        • @punk000:

While I have not had any experience with warranty on grey imports Apple products

As you say, you have no experience of this.

To be clear once again. Apple "products" (other than iPhones and iPads with cellular capability) have an international 12 months warranty.

Worse come to worst you can always post the phone to its country of origin I guess.

          1) What good would that do? 2) To whom would you "Post" the iPhone? 3) You can't legally post an iPhone from Australia. I guess that if you have a friend or family member in the country of first sale (wherever Kogan HK obtained the iPhone) you could courier or freight the iPhone to that person. They could then take the iPhone to their nearest Apple Store for repair/replacement. Then they could send it back to you. Seems that this would be quite expensive and time consuming. Surely it would have been better/cheaper to just buy an Australian Market iPhone in the first place?

Don't know if you want link for Apple two years warranty for local stock or not

It is not a "two years warranty". To be clear. Apple Australia have a one year warranty for Apple iPhones and iPads (with cellular capability) purchased in Australia. Apple Australia must also honour the Australian Consumer Guarantee, which is for at least two years, on Apple iPhones and iPads (with cellular capability) purchased in Australia.

        • @A3Australia:

Right, right, right and more right.

just out of curiousity, have you had any claim rejected by Apple due to it being a grey import ?

        • @punk000:

just out of curiousity, have you had any claim rejected by Apple due to it being a grey import ?

I do not know of any "grey import" iPhones being sold in Australia in the past few years.

As so far as privately imported iPhones are concerned, I have never taken one to an Apple Store. I have been present when some were presented to Apple Staff. I have no personal knowledge of any "claims".

I have a privately imported iPhone purchased from Kogan HK Limited. It was first sold in the American Market. Supplied originally by a carrier. Probably sold at least twice by the time Kogan HK purchased it - then sold to me.

If there had not been a Kogan HK 'sale' at the time, coinciding with a PayPal 20% discount offer, it would have not been an acceptable risk. Luckily (so far) I have not needed any warranty or out of warranty support.

      • you can always buy Applecare here, and all will be good :)

Apple Care for iPhone costs AU$129

There can be a AU$99 charge per 'incident'.

It might be better/cheaper to purchase an Australian Market iPhone 6 that comes with:- local warranty support, Two Years Consumer Guarantee, and Out of Warranty replacement support.

  • Are they refurbished?

    • +1

no - new ones, grey import!

      • no - new ones, grey import!

No, private imports of what may (or may not) be a grey import to Hong Kong.

  • Gold sold out

  • Thanks OP.

Is it ok to say that I don't think the 16GB suits my needs?

    Apple can't shift them anyway.

  • Anyone else see a banner ad saying they have a 10% off voucher to use on ebay?

    • Nope , what is a banner on cashrewards or ebay ?

  • sold out

  • Bought 64GB Silver.

"Estimated delivery between Thursday, Aug. 6 and Tuesday, Aug. 11"

    • Received the phone today.

  • If anyone is looking for a decent case to go with this apparently the Incipio NGP is a good value case and ships for AU$21.52 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MHWSNR6

To anyone outraged about how Apple could sell a phone with 16GB storage - lots of stuff is moving to iCloud - for example if you use photos with iCloud when your device is running out of space it will remove photos from your device automatically and also store lower resolution copies. If you don't use many apps and use music and movie streaming service you don't really need much space at all - obviously it wont suit everyone but it works just fine for me.

    • Don't you have to pay for anything over 5Gb on iCloud? Also, if unlimited data plans were the norm, 16Gb phones would be fine.

      Just my opinion.

      • Yeah unlimited data would certainly help. You do need to pay for over 5GB but I think the pricing is pretty reasonable for the service provided (easy access to your photos on any of your devices and backed up in the cloud).

        • Google photos provides unlimited space for photos (high quality setting) and videos for free.

It says SOLD OUT. Please update ur post.

  • The 64Gb version is still available.

  • Only 2 bought the 128GB Samsung S6.

    • LOL. 500 "unpopular" iphone 6 16GB sold in the same time span with 2 Galaxy S6.

    • the link says it is still not a deal ;)

  • -5

The 16GB is only good for people who wan't to say "look at me I got an iPhone 6!"

  • +3

    The S6 is a dud.

It does nothing to move the smartphone tech forward.

Samsung took away their most popular feature: removable battery. Then they keep screwing up the UI so much so it doesn't even look like android anymore, and top it off by charging the same price as the iPhone.

The S4 was their peak it seems - so much differentiation to the iPhone and so much better hence why they took so much market share.

    • +1

The S4 was definitely the cream of the crop, I miss mine so much wish I hadn't sold it.

  • bear in mind the New iPhone (iPhone 6s or 7 - what ever they decide to call it) is due to be announced/released in the next 6-8 weeks.. EDIT: ppl have pointed this out already. NVM
