Great deal - but unfortunately still only for NSW, Vic & Tas :(
    Dang!

    • -1

Why? Plenty of woolies stores in brisbane.

      • No idea, but when I put in my postcode I get "There are no stores near you that carry this item. Please try a different postcode or address.".

  • no stores in Brisbane

  • -6

    No $50 voucher anymore.

Nice post Spackbace. OzB has definitely livened up recently. This is great for everyone :)

    • -3

Hardly counts without a customised coupon tbh -_-

  • +1

Good fine Op. That's what I call real competition. May all retailers join the price war.

  • +1

    holding on for price war!

  • +2

wth, i just purshased $109 5 minutes ago

    • +25

For just $3 a day, you can feed a starving thanhliemduong.

      • $3 is my uncle 's 4 hours working rate of security job oversea :)

  • Samsung SSDs have 5 year warrantys.

How many years are the Sandisk SSD warranty?

    • 3

      • -3

No highly reliable SSD's from Sandisk.

        • +26

in 3 years there will be a post for 3tb SSD's for $50 and you'll be posting "oh man, I remember paying $109 for a 240gb drive in 2015 , before the aliens landed and helped us defeat the zombies".

        • @altomic:
I paid 69 shipped for a 64gb ssd nearly 4 years ago. Only in the past 6 months have prices regularly been comparible :(

        • @altomic: Not sure how the reliability got confused with price…..but may be that is your preference.

        • @AlisonP:

Oh dear, you made my order yesterday so regrettable :((

  • Great price.. now can I cancel my other purchase and buy this one? LOL

  • +1

Won't let me buy - coz I bought the MB Air from them the other day?

    • +2

Time for a backup account ;)

    • +1

Me too. I bought something earlier and now it says I cant purchase as I can only buy one item every 10 days from this seller????? A shop that is only open 1 day out of 10??? Way to do business. Anyway I just bought the $109 dollar one instead. Maybe I could have a pledge drive too Chthonic. hehe.

  • I'm just looking at the votes…

  • Thanks, I need a bigger SSD anyway :)

  • I'm waiting for the Crucial BX100 250GB or MX200 250GB, please…

  • eBay keeps getting my money

  • +6

dammit. just bought it for 109.

$3 is like 2 eneloops or 10 Finish Quantum Max Tablets

worst part is, I already have an M550 sitting in it's box from a previous deal.

    • I feel ( & replicate) your pain

    • -5

      neg the other deal

      • Apparently this seller will only let you buy one thing every 10 days, according to ebay when I try to add it to cart, so some of us need the other deal.

  • +5

Damn you yet again OzBargain… bought! Couldn't take advantage of the $50 voucher, as I'm in SA… but had a $50 voucher from their last "spend $100 at select retailers" promo, which was due to expire tomorrow, so at least I found something to spend it on - and a 240gb SSD for $56 - yay!!

  • Limit one per transaction.

    • And….in case people still don't know, and there are a lot of great buys from this seller, you can only buy one thing every 10 days from this seller according to ebay. So choose wisely.

      • WTH?, that makes no sense, will look into that.
Yes I did buy on this deal, but never used Futu ebay before now.

  • I don't need this but can't resist.

  • Sorry, we're unable to process your request. Please try again. You haven't been charged yet.

    • I am getting the same error, tried last night and tonight. Seems like it is only because of the click and collect, otherwise it would go through to paypal.

      • The customer service told me to call them to resolve this issue.

        • Call FutuOnline? Or eBay?

        • @jordanjj:I used live chat first. Then I called ebay and they said it is the paypal's problem if you can select a store but cannot make a successful transaction.

        • @jordanjj: I found the solution. Just change your postcode to the postcode of the store that you want to do the pickup.

        • @kirazsiu:

Yep, I had to change both suburb and postcode to the pick up location.
          Thanks a lot!

  • +1

CRAP! I always forget eBay does cashrewards. Who knows why… but who cares!

PS. Stop with the SSD deals!! I'll end-up with one on every port on my desktop PC :D

    • +1

      AND I have 12 Ports!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • +1

yo dawg so I heard you needed more sata ports so I put more sata ports in your sata ports so you can sata ports while you sata ports.

  • Just bought!
$56 for an 240GB SSD, won't pass for that after my old memory based SSD's battery has lost charge.

    great post fellow OzBargaineers!!

  • +5

Bought one - now need to buy rest of the stuff to build pc so that I can use this :)

  • I decided to get the $45 Patriot SSD at MSY but I was too weak and bought this instead, LOL.

Do I need to bring along photo ID for Click & Collect or is CC and print out all that is needed? Passport is my only form of photo ID and I'd prefer not to carry it around.

    • $45 at MSY?

    • +1

They email you a form with a number and a bar code on it. You take that in and they scan it and hand you your order. You can also have it linked with your everyday rewards card when you pickup an order so you can just use that (I think is the point of that). So to answer your question, no, no ID is required, just the print out.

  • +1

Bought one and pick up from Big W Macquarie.
    $106-$3(cashreward)-$50=$53 for a 240G SSD, wow.

  • Does this one work on normal PC? Or laptop only?

    • +3

works with any that has SATA connection

      • Thanks. My current hard drive is "500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with 16MB DataBurst(TM) cache"

Do I need any additional enclosure?

        • +1

You can get an adapter plate with it if you like.

        • +2

this is a 2.5in drive and you would probably have a 3.5in drive. I think only really new cases have 2.5in drive bays so you will likely need a 2.5in to 3.5in adapter.

I think you can probalby just put the screws on 1 side of the drive and screw it into a 3.5in drive bay. SHouldn't be an real issue if you don't move your computer around much…. but you are taking the risk.

        • @nerd1:
Thank you so much. I will buy an adapter rack.

  • May have been covered in a previous thread and I normally have more time to read through, but any way around for other states? EG Adelaide? Anyone know what kind of checks are in place?

    • find closest store in participating state and drive there to pickup?

    • +1

They come in tiny boxes. Get a friends to cnc and post it on the cheap.

  • All these deals should be tagged BIGW or something to do with this promotion :)

  • I just bought a Ultra. BUt this I can put into my agin MacBookPro. :)

  • Bought one and now i have spare Sandisk 128GB SSD i bought last month from PB tech

  • SSD prices are finally coming down. Two years ago, I paid a couple of hundred for a 160GB SSD. Apparently, newer SSDs last longer, too.

  • +1

Their stupid limit of 1 made me buy from PC-Byte, I don't understand why they even bother to limit.

    • It gets worse. I bought a completely different item and it tells me I can only buy one item every 10 days from this seller??? So choose wisely, they have a few good deals.

  • Is this compatible with Macbook Air 13" 2014 model?

    • No. MacBooks use their own custom SSD drive, they do not fit standard 2.5" drives

      • +1

Someone needs to create an iSWAT team to rescue all the iHostages….

      • Thanks stirlo! Bought one for my Win8 PC anyways :)

  • I don't understand how to get the cash back? How do I pick this up at big w?

    • Wasn't showing up on mobile, full site could see it.

  • Is 240gb enough?
Thinking about future proofing a little bit.
Was all set to buy the Samsung 500gb from the same dealer.

    • Bigger is always better, but 240gb is great for a boot device (where the speed is really needed). On my surface pro I have 80.6gb free from 128gb drive with Windows 8.1 Pro installed and a few small programs I use. It depends if you fill it with games or not.

    • Depends on your use!

I personally think 240gb is about minimum for a main PC, but I would have run out of space if I didn't have a 500gb SSD. If there's also an internal HDD for storage, then even a 64gb drive will more than suffice for OS and programs in the majority of cases. Still, it's nice to install games on an SSD as loading times are significantly reduced in certain games.

For a secondary laptop, I've managed easily on 64gb (although I did have a 64gb nano-USB for a video collection).

  • This one gave me more Woolworths/BigW store collection options!

  • Hey Guys, Can I use $50.00 voucher to buy a second SSD?

    • +2

From memory the voucher isn't active yet to prevent that. Could be wrong. Not real current with this eBay deal, trying hard to save some money for a change.

    • Dont see why not!

Edit: Yeah as above, you'll have to wait for the voucher to come through.

    • Thanks

  • On the eBay link page it does not say $50 voucher anymore.
Is that still valid for $50 voucher?

    • I just clicked in and halfway down is a big banner and everything about the $50 voucher

      • Thanks.
It came up again just under the Payment section on the top of the page.
        It disappeared for some reasons.

  • Apologies if this is a stupid question… but assuming everyone is paying $106 now and then getting the voucher later? Or are we actually only paying $56 right now…
(it was a stupid question, my apologies indeed)

    • +1

Pay $106 now my friend, will get $50 voucher by 12 Aug and the voucher expires by 30 Sep.

  • So the 3% cashback is by "default"? No need to enter coupon code?

  • +4

I noticed many people want the deal but cant get it due to where they live. I am happy to help if you want

Received the SSD. Partner is happy and I am happy. Thankyou so much for your time and effort :)

  • +1

One more time in case people don't know….

Ebay says you can only buy one item from this seller once every 10 days. It gives the warning if you try to buy something else from them. They have a few good deals going around, so choose wisely. I wanted this but had bought something else so I had to buy the $109 dollar one. (think I will ride my bike to the shop, get a workout and save the $3 difference in petrol.)

  • It seems the C&C option is removed. I tried but pay and pickup option is disappeared… :(

    • To QLD ozbargainers : My ebay has QLD address, therefore, it won't shown the C&C options. After change my address to my cousin's NSW address with his help to pickup, then the C&C option is available. Hope this can help QLD people to get this promotion. :)

  • I tried to cancel and reorder. Not working…

Hope they honour my cancellation, don't really need another SSD.

  • +1

Bummed out its not in QLD but as a former Taswegian I'm kinda happy cause I don't think I've ever seen something listed on OB available in Tasmania that wasn't available every where else

  • +1

Decisions, decisions….buy this to revive an old dm1-3216au lappy, or save and wait for an android tablet…..

Pfft, as if this deal can be missed! Trigger pulled!

  • 847 sold

    Jeepers Creepers!

    • Update: 970 & counting!
I wonder if Sandisk-themselves even have that many in the country!
