        My local store is ridgeheaven, SA. He was literally ignoring me after i said about 10$ voucher, then he called some one for 10 minutes and come back, when i said in sydney and melbourne they are selling for 5$ how come you saying 29$,

        Then he said ok i can make it 5$ for u, so finally got 2 scrubber for free.

          12.5c each isn't too bad.

    Godfreys typical bait and switch. Just like going in with the intention of buying a vac advertised on special and all they want to do is sell you a high commission Weirteim. You end up either overpaying or walking out without a vac.

    I've always had a bad feeling about Godfrey's, but never had personal experience with them. After reading the comments, I see my initial feelings were correct.

    I went in store at 9am this morning and there were no $5 irons or scrubbers in sight. I didn't bother speaking to the salesman because I knew he would try and upsell me. There were some dust pans and the like for about $8 that I could have had for free, but I couldn't even be bothered trying since they are really only worth like $2 and I have plenty of dust pans.

      Many, MANY, years ago though, they were a premium store for vacuums. You could actually count on them. They've just sold out (for profit only), no different to anyone else these days.

    Based on the not so good results posted, good thing I didn't waste my time. I swore I will never set foot on a Godfreys store after a likely bait and switch incident that I experienced 5 years ago. They haven't changed.

      if you go to lasoo for their catalogue you will find they have removed the last page which contains the deal. and the link I posted for catalogue is an alternative one and if you look the URL of catalogue it says Sydney-nsw.

    Morley store in WA said they havent had the scum buster for quite some time, they then proceeded to suggest i buy some filters for my dyson vaccumm AND that i should bring it in for them to service.

    Not expecting to walk back in a Godfrey for a long time if at all.

    Some of comments are exactly what I experimented this morning! Firstly, the iron is $9.95 not $5. Secondly, the sales rep knew I was going to use the $10 voucher, his face became black! He also denied the voucher which I downloaded it from the official Godfrey website! Third, I went to another store in Westfield Southland Shopping centre. The rep even told me they were not in the participating stores, which is contradicted to what the store rep posted comments here saying "all stores are participating stores!"! Regardng to marketing theory,Godfrey is a franchising store, each store is not that consistent, the store policy and rep's attitude are not standardised! It means each store does not really care what the headquarter policy and promotions are! It really destories its reputation and customer expectation! From this promotion, it is a failure event and makes customers even hating to come for purchase!

    I've been stung with bait and switch by these guys before, considering how easy it should be to buy a boring vacuum cleaner I was more annoyed than I would have otherwise been.

    Annoyingly during that fiasco I walked out of the store with a wertheim (per above posts I guess they are the preferred upsell), the thing broke within 30 seconds of it being plugged in, when I returned to the store I was given the old "last one in stock" pay another $200 and upgrade to the electrolux…grrrr…bad memories flooding back.

    Godfreys are scumbags folks.

    Bought cheap vac there last year just for the cars, motor shorted and smoked like mad. Still in wty I took it back , got accused of using it to vacuum up materials finer than the filter/bag can handle and thus warranty is void.

    I emptied the bag on the counter told the pimply teenager serving me that he is a cheating scumbag (he sold it to me ) and walked out.

    Never again.

    Went to Godfreys store with the voucher in Mackay, QLD yesterday

    The store rep acknowledged the voucher but disappointingly told me that the dish scrubber was $29.95 and the iron was $9.95. Apparently the catalogue sale which is current in Vic ended in QLD weeks ago.

    Not wanting to waste $10 for free, I ended up getting fabric softener and a large tub of oxy action stain remover

    On the Godfreys website it says B&D power scrubber being sold for $5-00!! I bought one several months ago, for what I thought was a sweet bargain of $8-00 BUT….. let me just say since, keep your fiver in your pocket and buy some dishcloths or dish liquid instead cos the two scourer pads it comes with last about 4 scrubs each and then your knackered cos you cant buy the replacement pads anywhere in Australia and if they do have them on ebay or the like they are massively expensive, about 5 times the cost of the scrubber alone……

    Save your $5 and buy a burger… no dishes, no scrubber….. NO worries!! :-)
