Pay what you want for $37.98 value.*
Pay >$5.75 for the $383 value.*

      * Realistically I can't see any of them being worth close to the quoted value.

      • Sweet. I only want Screens out of that bundle.

  • Any idea why you would have winzip and stuffit deluxe? Don't these do the same thing?

  • Any reviews, comments on Rapid Weaver?

    • If you're lazy like me, it's pretty cool. Might need to spend more on 3rd party themes and plug-ins once you get going however.

  • +1

I quite like scapple, and busycal. Surprised to see them on sale like this. The others, can't comment. Except for Stuffit, which I can't believe is still around.

    • Once Apple stopped pre-installing Stuffit on their computers, i just assumed they folded. Apparently not.

  • Grabbed it for Crossover, which seems to get decent reviews (and saves me buying Windows to dual boot).

Not sure about the rest of the bundle, but I imagine I'll find a way to get good use out of at least some of the programs!

    • i used crossover occasionally. its good to have it in case you may need it in rare occasions. but it generates heat! a lot!

      • I'm not on my laptop an awful lot (thanks to my tablet and chromecast, haha!) so heat won't be a major concern. There's only a couple of Win programs I'd like to run too, so it's mainly for the occasional convenience of just opening a non-Mac program up to use for a little while…

  • Windows users can get it for the roboform license which costs alone more than that

  • good

  • Thanks Op, purchased. Now to find a use for it all lol. Scapple looks interesting…

  • Just bought, some of them are useful for me. Thanks OP.

  • So all the keys are valid for the Win version of the apps if they exist?

  • Merged from StackSocial Offers 'Pay What You Want' Bundle for 10 Popular Mac Apps ($300 value)

StackSocial has launched a new "Pay What You Want" Mac software bundle, offering a selection of 10 apps to users who match or exceed the average payment price. Currently, the average price is at $5.56, significantly less than the $383 retail price for the apps, but it will go up as the sale goes on.

    stacksocialsale
A payment higher than the average price earns users access to all apps, while smaller donations will unlock fewer apps. 10 percent of the proceeds from the sale will go to non-profit organization Creative Commons. A full list of apps included in the bundle is below:

    • CrossOver 14 Mac ($59.95) - Lets Windows apps be run on the Mac.
    • RapidWeaver 6 ($89.99) - Theme-based website development software.
    • BusyCal ($49.99) - Calendar app for the Mac that replaces the default app.
    • WinZip 4 Mac ($29.95) - Zips and unzips files.
    • WALTR ($29.95) - Transfers and converts media files in any format to a format playable on iOS devices.
    • RoboForm Everwhere: 1-Year Subscription ($19.95) - Cross-platform password management service.
    • Scapple ($14.99) - Freeform mind-mapping software for jotting down ideas and finding connections.
    • StuffIt Deluxe 16 for Mac ($49.99) - Compresses files to shrink size.
    • Screens ($29.99) - Virtual network client (VNC) and screen sharing app that gives remote access to multiple computers.
    • Find Any File ($7.99) - Spotlight alternative for searching through files.

To encourage higher purchase prices, StackSocial is giving away an iPad Air 2 through a random drawing. Entries are earned by paying a high enough price to make it onto the price leaderboard at any time during the sale. The top payment at the time of this post was $45.

StackSocial's "Pay What You Want" bundle will be available for purchase until September 5.

  • If it ends up being under USD$10 it would be a great deal, but I don't think these are redeemed through the Mac App Store, which would be my preference for Screens and RapidWeaver.
