Click the link to the right hand side that says

"Related Products HTC One M9 by HTC" and it'll show you the price is often around $800.

Now you know this you don't have to post in every single deal asking the same question over and over again.

      • She knows already.

    was $724 in last deal from Trent86 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194227

Prices will keep dropping due to the release of the m9+

And the fact that these are selling terribly

  • -1

This is a terrible mobile - check all the reviews before you splunk $600+

Try the LG G4 or Samsung S6 , they are comparably priced on expansys etc

    • +1

Terrible? Lol, it's still one of the best phones you can buy. It's just not noticable better than the m8 is the problem

      • +1

Nope… It is a GOOD phone, but a noticeably 'bad' phone compared to the competition.

e.g. the camera is worse than last year's Galaxy S5, even… Check out PHoneArena's camera blind tests, and HTC is usually at the bottom.

Awesome speakers and build, but for what you get for the price is pretty lame…

This is the problem with today's society in a nutshell.

People are too obsessed with the numbers. There's a real problem when people start basing buying decisions on negligible performance gains and unnoticeable image quality differences on the camera rather than the quality of the phone.

Sure, the S6 might save you 0.5s per day because it has a faster processor and its image quality might be 2% better, but it's still made like plastic garbage compared to how well the HTC One M9 is made. In 2010, I picked up an HTC Desire HD and a family member of mine picked up a Galaxy S. They're both slow these days, but the Desire HD still feels great. You pick it up and you know it's quality, its unibody chassis is tough, scratch resistant and is completely solid with no flex, no bending and it still looks gorgeous unlike the plastic dog plop that's the Galaxy S, its plastic scratches too easily, grows old too quickly and feels flimsy and weak.

These things cost money, these days, people don't care about how something feels in the hand and how it feels to use because specs are all that matter. Really, before you buy one of these, go to a store and pick up a One M9, then pick up an S6, you'll feel the difference. If specs are important to you and you get an e-peen boost when you can boast to all your mates about how many GFLOPS your processor can do compared to theirs, then by all means, go for the S6. If you really want a quality phone, though, the One M9 is hard to beat and even if its specs aren't as good, it's far more than sufficient and terrible is simply untrue.

Couldn't agree more. I was a huge Samsung fan until I tried my wife's HTC One M7, loved it so much, I got rid of my Samsung and bought the HTC. Looks and feels premium, and way smoother than the Samsung to use. I will not be going back to Samsung.

My gf's s6 edge is not as smooth and as fast as an older One m8, I thought the extra gig of ram and faster processor would make the s6 faster but it's the total opposite.. you sometimes get this random stutter using multi tasking, opening random things and transitioning through windows.

      • The issue is mainly due to the SD810 Processor that throttles even with moderate usage
Last years m8 is a great phone , but this year around they screwed it up as the phone heats up for an angry birds game and slows down and the plastic Sammy phones are gone
Also the camera is not 2% lower quality but about 50based on comparison shots

The m9 daily usage is hampered by the choice of specs used .

        • the phone heats up for an angry birds game and slows down

This can't be true. My 3 year old Nexus 4 plays Angry Birds just fine with no slowdown.

Also the camera is not 2% lower quality but about 50based on comparison shots

Most people who review phone cameras are not photographers and don't view images the way they should be viewed. If you're looking to make mural sized wall prints from your photos, then get a camera. If you're looking to make 4x6" prints or use them for Instagram and FB then it makes no difference.

You also forget that when comparing with the S6, it's a more expensive phone by around $80 or so, which is like almost 20% more.

The m9 daily usage is hampered by the choice of specs used .

No it's not, how is daily usage hampered? My daily phone is a 3 year old Nexus 4 and it's perfectly fine.

        • @paulsterio: You are exactly on the point … The 3 year old nexus at times performs better than the HTC one M9 coz the processor throttles often and hampers performance - once you start using it for a while , it heats up and to cool the processor down , the performance is severely reduced

The second chart in the article shows how this disrupts any meaningful usage beyond 15 mins or so

          http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/04/in-depth-with-the-sna…

This makes a beautifully crafted mobile to stutter after a minimal load

Also the camera is severely hampered as well due to HTC trying to cram in too many mega pixels in a not-so-good sensor … They tried to beat everyone else by putting higher numbers like the SD810 and the higher megapxels and lost out on the end result

camera comparison done here with the LG G4 - a similarly priced handset with a better screen :

          http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-G4-vs-HTC-One-M9_id4000…

I'm sorry to see HTC (once my favourite) to be ending up with epic losses , but for the end consumer , the HTC one m9 is not a great choice at the premium tier . .

Edit : p.s - I own a nexus 6 and not a fanboy of LG, Samsung etc . . just giving my two cents based on my experience with mobiles and android ROMs and flashing custom ROMs etc …

  • This is a grey import isn't it?

The One M9 is a good phone if you know how to use manual camera mode.

If you're looking for a point and shoot with the automatic, it will take some fiddling.

The OS software is the best optimised software compared to the Samsung. Lag is an issue with Samsung, HTC OS doesn't lag. Every HTC owner will attest to how it still stays snappy after 2 years of use, compared to Samsung owners who change phones because the lag gets considerably worse over time.

  • Good phone, but I'll wait till it drops $100 more

  • "What's in the box: Standard retail package."

    Anyone know if it has:

    1. A wall charger
    2. Car charger
    3. USB charge cable
    4. USB data cable

    ?

And… is there anywhere that will price match with a few % discount, to get this a bit cheaper??
