[Kmart] Fast & Furious 7 Blu-Ray for $24 (7 Days Before Release)

300

I went into Kmart today and found that they were just about to put Fast & Furious 7 on the shelf. Asked for a copy and it checked out at $24. This is a whole seven days before official release. The checkout girl told me that this should apply to all stores that received their stock already. My particular Kmart had the first season of The Blacklist on the shelves two weeks before official release. Crazy.

Enjoy!

:EDIT: A user pointed out that the receipt doesn't show Blu-ray. It's definitely for the Bluray as I wouldn't bother buying both copies. The DVD could possibly be cheaper.

  • +16

    Could've overnighted it from Japan

  • Yeah, walked passed the Hoyts Kiosk at lunch time and you can rent Fast Furious 7 already. $3.50 I think for the dvd overnight hire.

    • Yeah it's nationally released early everywhere, no embargo.

Source: I work in the industry.

      • Yes saw it in a few places.

      Yes!!!

If you want to pirate, keep it to yourself. This is not something you should be proud of.

      • +7

What if I told you… you don't need a dvd to be legit.

        • you can buy from itunes or play store, or rent from video ezy or whatever ffs.

        • @ahok: I buy codes from people who don't want them when they buy the blurays :)

        • @SirFlibbled:

Interested in my UV copy of Fast 7? PM me if so :)

        • @Dagmar: Already bought one. Sorry.

    • Also know as QUALITY.

not everyone is a dirty pimpled teenager. lol

      • -1

Nothing wrong with being a dirty pimpled teenager…

        Nothing wrong with selfie sticks…

        Nothing wrong with homosexuals.

    • I still buy a lot of bluray, but i've never spent more than $10 for one.

  • +1

so is the bargain its release date or is this reduced?

    • +2

Both really. $24 is a good buy for the Bluray.

      • -5

ok. being part 7 thought maybe its just terrible and they trying to move stock already

        • +7

Movie did over $1B in the cinema - made the most money of all of them so far. I've a big fan of the series since it changed to a heist style in 5.

        • Maybe? If you have not watched it yet can at least check out the reviews before making a comment here.
so iPhone 7 is going to be terrible?

        • -2

@wtfnodeal: poor comparison, every iPhone was better than its previous release and the first iPhone was incredible

        • -3

@SirFlibbled: compassionate viewing after that guy died probably. wont be winning any oscars anytime soon im sure

        • @clarky: To a degree but each movie has made more than the last (except 3). Since the change to heist movies in 5, worldwide gross went from $363M to $600M and 6 made $700M.

Start watching the series from 5. They are never going to win oscars and they often have ridiculous scenes but they're great fun to watch.

        • +2

@clarky: Movies that win Oscars aren't always indicative of what's popular though ;)

        • -2

@SirFlibbled: lol, yeah caught some of it in a cafe in bangkok where they are building 'jumping' in a car somewhere like dubai or qatar. That was enough for me.

        • it one better than Police Academy 6!

        • @PVA: no doubt. prob better than step up also but not for me, westy bogan oil rag racing, lowest denominator.

        • +1

          @clarky:
Yeah, I understand but its mindless fun, completely over the top.
I love crappy 80s action movies too - Stallones Cobra etc - to me its just like that.

        • @PVA: Cobra, NOW you are talking!

    • Both. Like Flibbled said, $24 is a great price for a brand new Bluray release. And it being available 7 days earlier is a +!

  • +1

Gotta go with the US version to get the vastly superior title of FURIOUS 7.

    • +7

Or import it from Japan for WILD SPEED: SKY MISSION

  • edit: posted dvd not blu ray

    my bad - retracting neg.

    • Receipt doesn't state Blu-ray, I'll add an edit.

  • Do kmart have 3d ff7 as well??

    • Never had a 3D version.

      • I think it was meant to. There are definitely parts in the movie where it makes you think there is a 3D version.

        • +1

Hmm I may be wrong, Google lists some 3d showings of it but I don't remember there being an option here in QLD.

Edit: so it seems the director didn't approve of the post conversion and it only released in China and a few other places.

Not likely to see the BluRay in that case.

        • @Phreakuency: There were a few 3d showings in Victoria but none in the USA, I believe Brazil may have got it also. I don't really know why they did a post production conversion for so few countries, but nfi if it's decent or not.

  • Just saw it in Big W. But it's not as cheap as Kmart!

  • Will pick this up

  • Somehow I felt like there was a little less overacting in this one?

  • Oh crap here I was about to post that this pricing is not correct in my local Big W store.. Only to realise that this post is about K-Mart!! My bad.

Big W charge $34 for the bluray so I was thinking this post was all wrong

  • +1

    RIP Paul Walker…

  • -6

Not meaning to burst your bubble, but it's not that special an early release - it was out at my local Big W and Target over the last two days…

Also don't think that $24 is all that much of a bargain price either to be honest. That's about normal for a lot of non blockbuster releases.

    • +2

LOL non blockbuster release? Only 5th highest grossing film of all time…

Do agree somewhat its about $30 from JB

    • +3

      $40 @ Big W
      $29 @ JB Hifi
      $28 @ Target

Since when was being about 20% cheaper NOT a bargain?

I'd be curious to know your definition of blockbuster if this didn't fit your definition.

  • +2

Release date was moved forward. (should be available everywhere)

  • +1

So they start selling it earlier than release date?

    Too soon junior…

    (had to be done)
