My first post!

I bought the silver model from Kogan for around $320 when eBay had the previous 20% off sale. Now it's even better.

Both Silver and Gold models are discounted.

Tempting.. but they are about the dump a whole new generation of watches through in the next two months.. have to urge myself to resist!!

No GPS and still needs daily charging according to review above. Looks boss tho.

    • Review says:
"With emails, notifications, downloading apps and the usual testing, my Urbane lasted two days on a single charge - much like the G Watch R. This is slightly longer than the day and a half that my Apple Watch offers."

Definitely better than the Moto360 for battery life.. It doesnt have GPS but neither does any of the other smartwatches except the Sony SW3.

BTW.. you can get the Sony Smartwatch for $210 after the discount through Kogan @ Ebay:

If you need the GPS that much.. edit Does have WIFI but you lose the Heart rate sensor.

No such thing as the perfect Smartwatch.. yet

      • No such thing as the perfect Smartwatch.. yet

True. I already need to charge two phones (one work, one personal), a mobile hotspot, a laptop daily so adding a watch to that list prob outweighs the benefit.

HRM on smart watches are not as accurate as chest strapped too, at the moment.
Can take forever waiting for the perfect unit

    • I have this one and it can last two days depending on how you use it. I've also found some watch faces really chew
The battery. Personally I'm a throw it all on charge every night kind of person.

      • Yeah I agree, if you aren't interested in wearing your watch to bed you just throw on the charger every night and all is good.

    • It lasts for almost 2 days with always on screen with this watch face and I also wear it to bed for sleep tracking; it's one of the most efficient and accurate wearables to use with Sleep As Android sleep tracking app.

      • how about this?

        • haven't tried that one

  • I wish these were available retail so I could try it on first. Some watches just don't suit my wrist….

    • Looks like my wish was granted, although it will be too late:

      http://ausdroid.net/2015/08/25/lgs-watch-urbane-makes-it-to-…

"will be available in retail stores including Telstra, JB HiFi and Harvey Norman for $449, starting on 1 September."

      • Can you cancel the order after trying it in the store? Kogan won't post it soon after the order; at least it was the case with my order.

    • I'm a small built Asian. It looks big on my wrist. But I love it anyway. I charge my (G3 and now G4) phone every night so I have the watch charged too. I rekon it could last over two days per charge.

The fact that it could be connected to your phone via (known, yet different) wifi network(s), it is worth the money.

You can change its face as often as you like. Some faces cost money, and that is why Google Opinion Rewards apk is essential for Ozbargainers.
