        • @fozzie: Hey mate, missed the PayPal dispute deadline unfortunately, got held up with the misses. Fortunately they shipped out the new order i made that night. They also emailed yesterday to say that they'll refund the difference in price i paid once i receive the phone. Still waiting for them to receive the faulty unit to process the full refund for that. Do you know how long it usually takes to post to China? Cheers

        • @jesho:

Yes, you sent phone back but still no money. After a set number of days you'll get a refund, as you fulfilled your duty (return faulty phone)

  • I must be missing something with this firmware update because it just wont do anything?
Copied the update.zip to the root, extracted, it does nothing.
Reboot into recovery mode initiate the upgrade, it scans and keeps telling me the update.zip is corrupted? Have downloaded numerous times.

  • Received the phone mid october after a lengthy wait, and barely a month in, phone stopped working for no apparent reason today.

it was working one moment, and the next it was completely unresponsive and wouldn't even boot. Initially I had the 'BSOD' (battery screen of death) like seen in this youtube video when plugged in:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjAp3Np5f5U

Then shortly after even the battery logo failed to show. There seems to be no official hard reset instructions for this phone but I tried vol up + vol down + power button from a google search but still no luck. Symptoms seem to me it somehow bricked itself while being idle.

Sadly after taking them 4 weeks to deliver me a 3 week old lemon, this maybe my first and final foray into the chinese phone market.

I'm wanting to either get a refund or replacement, preferably the former, I've sent them an email but was wondering if I would be able to file a dispute via paypal against JD or the seller if neither refuses to offer me any recourse?

    • Yes PayPal should be able to help, they are very good. Thats the beauty of PayPal. That's very unfortunate, it happened to me with Gearbest and ulefone. My phone still works perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I've had it for about 5 weeks.

      • paypal buyer protection seems to apply only to items not arriving. does it also cover warranty and cases like mine?

        • Yes even if it is not working it should still cover you. Jesho was in the same situation as you. I believe he sent it back. Any updates @jesho about your refund?

        • @fozzie:

the phone was purchased using paypal on the 5th September, it's way past the 45 or 60 days for buyer protect.

Is there anyway else I can raise a dispute?

        • @avexdevil:

Hi dispute can be started within 180 days now

  • Sent back the faulty m2 note I had for a refund today, and now I have 2x 0.2mm tpu cases excess to my needs.

Free to whoever can pick it up here in Perth metro. PM for details.

  • Guys my phone has also gone faulty and it just stopped working..can I raise dispute on paypal now as I received on 7th october

    • yes. 180 days from date bought. gosh I hope mine doesn't fail. I've had it for about 5 weeks. I hope no more are faulty!

      • Mine just went dead yesterday, and I can do nothing about it. See my comment below and touch wood for you.

    • Hi guys how are refunds going? After 3 months finally got replacement from gera best instead of Ulefone Be Touch 2

      • I have raised the issue and JD forwarded me to the seller who are really ASH.they told me that after one month we donot replace or refund but repair only…So many stupied questions to tolerate but have to …still issue going on…I will go for refund and not replacement with these guys.this was my last meizu phone will try redmi note prime next with good seller.

      • Hey mate. Frustrating process. Seller agreed to refund once they receive faulty unit. Sent the phone back but didn't hear anything. Called Aus Post and found out that they attempted to deliver product but there was no one to receive it. The phone was waiting at the local post office for 10 days. Told the seller and they immediately said they'll process the refund. Wonder what would of happened if i didn't check. After a lot of back and forth with JD and the seller i still haven't received my refund. The replacement unit i purchased with express shipping arrived this morning. Everything looks to be working fine. I'm leaving the country on Friday morning. What options do i have if they don't refund? I filed a PayPal dispute for the faulty unit but missed the deadline to escalate to a claim. I could make a claim on the replacement phone for the same amount of money. Any chance that will work? Maybe i can contact credit card company? I'm hoping i won't need to and they'll refund me soon, like they say.

      • How's your phone going mate? Still happy?

        • Hiya my phone still going strong. I absolutely love it. Concerning the refund if you don't get a refund see if you can restart the claim on original transaction, otherwise start a new one on the second one. Glad you got phone on time for holidays :)

        • @fozzie: Thanks mate! Didn't know you could restart lapsed claims, is there something i missed? Still nothing from JD although the seller has told me that she emailed them approving of the refund. Flying out tomorrow, this is getting frustrating..

        • @jesho: I think you might, but not sure 100% (I seem to remember reading it somewhere). It is always best to escalate claims until full issue is solved. Have fun on Holiday hopefully your money will be sorted soon :)

    • This must be a really bad phone or batch as mine just went dead by itself yesterday morning. The screen turned black on my hand and that's it, can't recharge, can't reboot, can't reflash.

This piece of junk just refuse to response to any button combinations, long press, power, power+home, power+VolUp, power+VolDown etc. etc. And even plugging in the charger doesn't bring up a red LED. In short, it's totally dead.

I will be in contact with JD, however all my data, chat logs and photos are permanently lost, I hate Meizu and will never buy any phone from them.

      • I am also going through this pain as described by you.The phone appeared to be a piece of crap.My last Meizu phone and will spread word to other of my experience…$179 +$12 lost..

        • Sorry to hear that! That sucks, contact jd and if no luck paypal. You have 180 days with PayPal, so you are covered even though it's a long and winded process.
          Good luck!

        • @fozzie: Under what circumstance would Paypal rock in? I would rather get protection from Paypal than dealing with some unknown seller on JD.

        • +1

          @mily:

I suppose if the seller is not willing to refund/replace. Of course paypal is better, maybe start claim but then if you can't reach resolution just escalate.
