I've been vacillating over this very model. You'll need the FDD-LTE (4G) version which is more expensive: http://en.jd.com/product/Original-XIAOMI-REDMI-NOTE-2-4G-FDD…

      Vacillating?
How long have you waited to squeeze that into a sentence? LOL

      • Must've been his "Word of the day".

      • +1

He was just wanting the typically Australian insouciant response.

  • This 4g cannot be used as 4g in Australia so careful.

  • Is there a version with b28 support?

  • OMG.. X10 phone already below $200 AUD

  • +1

btw I'm pretty sure in Australia we want the FDD version.

    It's extra.

  • OP please specify in title that this cannot be used in Australia except for 2G (GSM) calls (in which case this is not a deal at all). 3G and 4G frequencies are specific to China and cannot be used in Australia.

    • 2g will also be useless soon for Telstra.

    • Is there a version of this phone that supports 3G and 4G in aUstralia?

  • How can it be cheaper its $195 Similar to the previous JD deal but only CHEAPER! worthy alternative to the Meizu M2 Note Deal
    this is $179?

  • Link to deal crashes on phone?

    • That's a question?/.

      Doesn't crash now/for me.

      • It does for me now. The EN website gives a DNS error.

2015052 (TDD LTE) model is only 2g In Australia with Vodafone/Telstra.
    It is 2G and 4G with Optus/Virgin.

2015051 (FDD TDD LTE) model is all bands.

    • Fair point. But no provider supports voice over 4G in Australia currently. So you will rely only on 2G for calls.

    • Where are you seeing this 2015052 model number? Can't see it anywhere on the page.

  • Ahh F@#$, I paid 221$ last week :(

    • Exact same model?

  • Hmmmm…

This, or the Miezu Note M2.

Or wait for the Doogee F5????

Wrong version. Do NOT buy this if you live in Australia (DUH).

Too bad I can't neg this. I feel sorry for whoever buys this without reading the comments…

Unfortunately this can only be used on 2G, this is not the FDD model which supports Australian 3G and 4G Bands.

It's a good price but not good for Australia (I had to neg it to prevent people from buying it accidentally, please update description with the only works for 2G caveat)

why do people keep listing phones with such poor band coverages?

  • Well gosh.. a $136 dollar phone with the same SOC as the $800 HTC One M9+ flagship, lol.

    • It's a pity that it's really closer $200 Australian dollars than $136. And unfortunately the phone only works on 2g in Australia, so that pretty much makes it worthless as a phone here irrespective of what SoC it uses. The 32gb version with the better SoC looks good, but I don't think there's a version with support for band 28. And it's closer to $300. :(

      • The $800 HTC One M9+ is also in USD (that's its MSRP), so it's a valid comparison to use $136.

I bought the TD LTE version from eBay, sent from Hong Kong. Didn't know better at the time regarding bands. It says TD version on eBay listing when I checked again. Also says TD LTE in the inside when you take out the battery .

However, it seems to work fine on Vodafone 4G and Telstra 3G (Aldi). I thought it isn't supposed to work.

  • Can you confirm with the supplier/manufacturer if the TD edition support FDD LTE.
Some have reported that the Chinese TD edition does support all the same FDD channels as the TD model.

Also can you get any other colours like yellow?
Are there any chases or screens protectors for this/

    • On the box it is listed as both TD and FDD network compatibles. However on the phone behind the battery it shows as a TD model. So I don't know what's going on there. I assumed all the phones versions are the same but one has got FDD enables and the other one is disabled?

  • Will the prime version work in Australia with telstra
