How long will they take to get here?

If you only need 1 like me: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aluminium-Capacitive-Touch-Screen…
    Aussie stock, $1 delivered

    • +8

I only need one too, but the idea of selling the rest to the rest of the family for $1 each makes this deal more interesting :)

    • +7

Like most budget china shipping the delivery time is anywhere from "it won't ever get here" to "wow those 2 months just flew by" to "I never ordered these, where'd they come from?".

Still waiting on my VR headset for my phone lol

    • it will take quite a while. I have ordered a couple of things fro them at it takes about a month.

I actually had a bad experience with them as well where the item did not arrive. After a month they asked me to wait longer for it to arrive and then still longer. Finally they agreed to a refund (great) and then because they had made me wait so long paypal charged a fee to do the refund and they were kind enough to pass that on to me.

Mixed feelings about them, the items that have arrived were good, but unhappy with the passing on of the fee due to their delays.

Stylarse……. Love it TA that's the best one you've made IMO

  • What's the little dangling bit? Can I write with it? Is it interchangeable into the body?

    • +1

I think that slots into your earphone socket. I may be wrong.

      • Oh right that makes sense. Bummer! I really want a thin tipped stylus. Thanks.

        • A thin tip wouldn't work on most phones

      • That's correct. A friend got a similar one earlier and stuck it into the headphones slot. After a few days the plastic plug broke off half way and had a tough time removing it. Just gotta be careful about that.

    • Hello,AngryAlfred.I am the custormer service from Newfrog. As tightarse said, the little dangling bit is anti-dust-slot can slot into earphone socket.

    • +2

    • +15

Yes, but this is a family friendly forum.

  • Why buy one thing you don't need when you can have ten yay!

    • Said every OzBargainer, ever.

  • +3

I can replace my 10 fingers with 10 of these.

  • +1

Only need 1, but bought it anyway.

Am I the only one who never liked the usage of a Stylus. I honestly don't see the point of it. Maybe it's just me ",

    • me too, they are useless. hands feel more natural.

      • The last time I used a stylus was when I was using the Sony Ericsson P900. And that was ten years ago or so.

      • +4

        That's definitely what she said!

    • Used it recently on a HP AIO with Windows 8.1. Best thing ever with the large screen.

    • I would have agreed until I got a Note 5. There are certain situations I'll really prefer to bust out the stylus, though this one is pretty schmick

      • I would hold out on getting the Note 5, there are some serious issues with the memory management unless you root the device and edit the build.prop

        http://androidcommunity.com/edit-build-prop-dha-properties-t…

Here is the full review highlighting the issues with it

        http://www.xda-developers.com/failed-potential-the-note5-xda…

Hopefully Samsung can make the performance better with updates but for now just wait and see.

Normally I'd just say to put CM12.1 on a device that has bloated stock firmware but being Exynos chipset based it might be a death sentence for ROM development. The S6 hasn't even got an AOSP port yet.

        As per the linked review:

As for development itself, the Note’s Exynos chipset is by default a big turn-off and obstacle that might cost it in terms of custom ROMs. Some Exynos variants of Samsung phones have received CyanogenMod ports, but considering the S6 is still waiting on AOSP ROMs, you should be very cautious when planning out a Note5 purchase if you intend on keeping it for long and milking the most out of it through XDA.

        • Mines running like a dream. Hell, from your very own link it states "It's not really a biggie".

        • @Hinee: Sorry I misread and didn't realize you are already using it.

          From my linked review:

The Note5 has aggressive memory management quite like the S6 and S6 Edge did before it, and like many TouchWiz Lollipop do for various other devices. This is a shame, because the phone does not perform like a 4GB RAM phone (evident when compared side-by-side with my ZenFone 2 and OnePLus 2), but it also performs as bad as my also-crippled Note 4 and its 3GB of RAM, and it does a worse job than even 2GB RAM devices I’ve put it against. It really is that bad, but what’s more ironic is that the Note5 included a task-killer application and has a RAM clean-up function, both found under Smart Manager. Yet both are pretty much useless.

The RAM management can and will most likely be fixed through a similar build.prop edit to the one that XDA members figured out for the S6 and ported to the Note 4. But out of the box, the situation is less than favorable and it betrays the whole concept of upgrading the RAM. I also suspect part of this has to do with bloat, because the phone doesn’t skim on lending out RAM to system and background applications.

Your best bet would be to root it, install TitaniumBackup and either freeze or uninstall the bloatware it ships with and apply the boot.prop edit and then your Note 5 should run a lot better :)

You would think by now that Samsung would back off on the bloat, it's always a constant complaint on their devices.

        • @Agret:
I have a Vodafone supplied handset and there really isn't much bloatware installed at all. Hell, some of the things that came pre-installed are able to be uninstalled like any other app. Admittedly I'm not running 4 GPU intensive games like old mate in your link, but I really have not experienced any RAM issues whatsoever. Advising against buying the phone due to these issues is way overboard IMO.

        • @Hinee: not overboard, if a device performs worse than a less powerful one out of the box you should learn how to fix it. Ozbargain spirit is about getting value for money and same goes for technology, get the most you can out of your phone :) the freedom of Android. Good to hear the Vodafone one comes without most of the bloat though, the US carriers always seem to go overboard.

    • Pokemon Shuffle on Mobile

  • The price that I get is $3.88 AU . How do I get 98c ? - sorry, just saw the code.

Can vouch for the poor quality of these styuls', so don't get it if you're hoping to use it a lot… But I guess they are cheap.

    • I have 10 of these that I'm about to throw in the bin. They're below normal finger quality.
It's only good if you prefer the feel of a pen than your finger.

  • +1

If you look at the photo of the person using it, the stylus is quite short and won't be comfortable to use.

  • +4

It's a good deal but from experience I would stay the hell away from this type of stylus. Few years ago when I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S3 on release I got excited and wanted a cheap stylus as well so I ordered one of these from eBay and it was such a horrible experience. I had a screen protector on my phone and it completely ruined the screen protector whenever I used this stylus. So then I removed the screen protector and used it on the screen and the stylus would leave a rough mark on wherever it had made contact with the screen. It feels rough, heavy, uncomfortable and feels like it's damaging your phone. Of course, YMMV but I've personally stopped all my friends and family from buying them and would advise anyone else to not do so either.

    • +1

I would second this. I have similar experience with exact same styles. They are terrible. Those rubber tips will come off and annoys the hell out of you having to put them back in the pen.

Threw away all 5 and ended up using the god given fingers :D

This deal reminds me of those terrible Oral B replica toothbrush heads sold by Kogan (8 for $8 or something).

      • +1

lol my dad bought 2 packs of those replica heads and he gave me a pack. Whenever I brush my teeth there's a 50% chance the head is just gonna come off mid brush, it makes brushing teeth an anxious experience :P

        • hahaha… yes it happened to me as well :)

Keep up the good work TA. Love ur work!

TA enjoys it, it's not work! Thanks TA!

  • Is it going to be delivered at all? I bought a selfie stick from NewFrog's last deal on 20 Aug and to date haven't received either the stick or the confirmation email. Pretty bad service from the froggies!

    • I'd wait about a month and a half for anything that comes from a Chinese site.

After that time I'd be looking to get my money back.

      • Yep, you're correct…one pack;)

Do they charge your card in AUD or USD?

    • Perhaps they do PayPal?

Also 28 Degrees doesn't charge those fees.

  • "AUD $0.98" Can I lick this like lolipop?

  • Hi Newfrog Team,

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had after placing the order 30000037108 on 1st July 2015. I didn't receive my order so far which is like almost 3 months, and I would expect you to atleast arranging a refund. I am no longer interested in receiving the item.

I have tried reaching out to your sales team number of times, but they didn't come back to me with any proper response. As a last resort I have tried posting a resolution question to you on your website, however your website is not accepting any questions, by throwing an error after submitting the query.

I would expect you to resolve my issue as soon as possible as I could see there are frequent posts on OZBARGAIN.

  • I've just received my order today. It was a nice little surprise as a had completely forgotten about them.
