      • I'm interested but how much would this cost with group buy as opposed to normal?

  • +3

Just bought one at officeworks for $251.37 with price match from office max.

    • same - no questions asked (sth melb 3205)

      • +1

so ive sat on this for a few hours surfing the net, looks good - easy to assemble but it seems to lack lower back support, not sure if its the settings not perfected yet but probably my biggest gripe for now.

        • Thanks for posting feedback. Did you get the settings sorted?

        • @Argo:

it's equally as comfy as the prior Costco chair I had - for $250 i'm pleased but it's hardly a chair that'll send you to sleep because it's so comfy.

  • Anyone in Perth interested in a group buy?

    • how much is a group buy? I'd be interested. Definitely 1 and maybe 2

  • Anyone in NSW interested in a group buy? My post code is 2217

  • Love it! Thanks OP!

Also hadn't seen the AMEX offer page before, so signed up for that as well!

    Thanks!

  • if no one is able to sign for the delivery will it be left at the post office or would I have to pick it up from the courier (dhl/or whoever they use)?
I live on a main road and sometimes get away with boxes slid underneath through the fence/gate however I'm guessing this a lot bulkier.

Just registered with OfficeMax, added the Buro chair to my cart and entered WELCOME10 as the promo code but it said "failed to apply the promotion code" and the price still shows as $294.

Anyone else had this issue? Or is there a different spot to apply the code that I'm missing?

    • +1

Have had the same issue for the whole day. Really wanted to purchase one from them for that price but it looks like OW price match for 280 will have to do if this doesn't change.

  • +1

Just called OW and after waiting on the phone for ages I got through and they said straight off the bat that they dont do any price matching for any kind of voucher code or coupon.

I told her others have been successful with this and she asked me if she had a customer ID or name of the person who purchased it then she could look into it, otherwise no dice.

    • to be fair i wouldnt price match someone who randomly telephoned seeking a lower price because of what they saw on the internet. perhaps walk into the store, demo the goods and then discuss their competitors and subsequent price matching policy - i can assure you once walking into the store and demonstrating youre a serious buyer, they arent letting you walk out the door empty handed.

Just got mine and put it together. Really comfortable - my back is thanking me already.

For those that didn't realise (took me a while) - when putting the backplate on the back you pull the lever down and screw it into the second hole (not the first) with the smaller of the two. There is also some writing on it which should read "Outward".

The back is also mistakenly called the seat (part 6 instead of 7).

    • me too. That was super fast!
I slipped the back plate up into it's slot in the back, rather than pull the "lever" down.
Instructions were shonky hey! All parts 1-6 are mis-numbered.

I like how the back supports regardless of whether I sit forward or back. Haven't really used it yet though.

  • Officemax code doesn't seem to work for me "welcome10", has anyone found a way to use it?

Staples seems to be out of stock in my area =(

    • They stock it up now. It shows a plenty of stock online 380+ in QLD

  • Got mine today, from the photos I thought this was the same or similar to one I use at work… it's not. It's FAR better! Very comfortable!

  • Will officeworks in WA match this price ?

  • received mine today, the instructions are not the best.. also took me a while to figure out which way the back post goes in.

    Very comfortable

I called OfficeMax today, asking why the 10% off coupon wasn't working. They advised it should have expired on Sat 12th and couldn't explain why the website was still showing it :(

So I thought I'd grab the chair anyway, since it's still a nice price and now the WELCOME10 code is working again! :)

  • Thanks op.

  • email inquiry with officemax for my order on 11 Sep at 3:43pm came back with reply that it's on backorder and due into their distribution centre on 21 Sep

    • I ordered the same date and never received email confirmation nor was it showing up on my order history! Spent the last few days chasing it up and eventually they 'found' my order after I'd opened a paypal case. I was advised I'd receive it by this Friday but so far I have lost confidence in them.

  • Arrived from Staples

  • Got mine, they left it out front exposed for 6 hours even though they confirmed for me theyd be fine with putting it behind my gate , least it was there though :|

  • I went to Officeworks instore and got them to price beat with no issues at all.
So best to phone the store first to confirm stock level then go and 'negotiate'.

  • +1

Chair is very comfortable. Very happy

  • Anyone able to help me with the backplate or take a picture, i'm not good with these things and instructions aren't clear :((

To clarify the side that says 'Outward' that faces the back of the chair correct?
Then it's installed upwards so the text is still orientated correctly and to position the pull down lever to the 2nd hole to install?

    • +2

i dont have a picture, but this might help-

the backplate has 3 holes. 1 of them doesn't seem to do anything. The redundant hole has no threading inside it whereas the other two do. Ram the back plate up the hole in the back of the seat with the "outward" facing away from the back piece, making sure the biggest hole is at the bottom. Pull the lever thing down until it lines up with the threaded hole in the middle of the back plate. Screw that in (its the smaller screw). After that it gets a lot easier.

      • Thank you!

      • I think there are pins in the inside of the seat back that hold it in place when you adjust it up and down, that slot into that 'redundant' third hole.

  • Just received the chair today as well, it was big but luckily the courier guy was kind enough to help my ms to carry into the house lol

    • +1

while you sat back and watched with beer in hand right? high five

  • Got the chair delivered today from OfficeMax. To my surprise it came already assembled.

    • maybe displayed chair?

  • Does anyone know how to lock in the adjustable back height? It keeps wanting to slide down when I lean on the back.

    • Mine clicks when it's shifted up/down and it actually requires some force. It is aligned to the correct hole?

      • It is but I did break the welded nut off the back plate when I was tightening the screws. Not idea how it can break off like that. So the angle of the back plate is a bit off (hard to explain). Anyway, I've emailed the Buro distributors to see if I can get a replacement back plate….

  • +1

My god this chair instructions manual is definitely not ikea friendly. Regardless, manage to set it up and damn, its definitely one good chair.

    • Took a good 30mins, large part of it was deciphering the instructions.

  • I've just ordered from officemax, 260.10, no idea why 264.6 on the OP title

  • ordered from OW on pricematch, came to just less than $250

having a bit of trouble assembling it, the screw to attach the big flat piece of metal for the back seems either too big or too small. the bigger one will thread into the theads on the hunk of metal, but won't go through the bit that sticks out from the backrest. it's too small and has no thread either.

the other screw is too small. am i missing something?

edit: never mind, had the back plate in the wrong way around.

now i'm not sure how to lock the leaning function in position.

edit: worked that out too, just pull down (was scared to force it, took a gamble and it paid off)

  • I really like my chair (thanks OP!) do these have the kind of wheels you can use on hardwood floors? Or do I need to keep using the floor protector.

    • I wouldn't mind squishy wheels too. PU ones?

      • So the wheels it came with are no good?

        • I personally use a floor protector but I won't say the wheels are no good.

I saw on the product page (http://buroseating.com/product/buro-metro/) that they offered PU wheels as an option, but Staples didn't carry them, otherwise I would have bought me a set.
