I wish these were legal. They're actually very handy..
Btw I thought a unicycle referred to something with only one wheel? But I guess by that logic this should be a "bicycle" which it isn't..

    • until you do a faceplant

    • +2

Yeah, unicycle is 1 wheel. This is actually something that is called single axle.

    • are they illegal? how so?

      • are they illegal? how so?

more than 200w which means illegal to ride in any public space. only legal to ride on your own private property

  • This is the cheapest by quite a bit

  • I'm starting to see students in the city use these. Also seen a student go through Coles on one, seems like he was too lazy to walk at all even when using self checkout :-/

no wonder ppl can getting so fat nowadays..

      eat too much

for whatever little exercise they may be getting
then they can't even be bother to walk

If we follow America's footsteps even more, soon we'll be seeing, in our very own walmarts, obese people in motorised wheelchairs.

Hard to follow their footsteps when they're all on motorised scooters.

        • OT: Yer normally I'd say each to their own, but the cost to the tax payer in terms of heart surgery and diabetes etc is ridiculous. We've got more pressing issues to spend our money on than this self inflicted disease.

Having said that, I'm kind of interested in this as I've got a couple of long walks to do every working day. Some days I could use this.

We're not American until we use one on a treadmill at the gym.

No amount of linguistic gymnastics could segue this into a Segway.

My ebike's 300 watt hour battery could get me to and from a railway station about 8km away from home. So for a 160wh battery, expect about 8km.

    • how much do you weigh (if you want to private message me the answer feel free)

      • +1

        About 115kg.

        • thanks

    • You're not missing anything my bad for not realizing there was postage. Ordinarily focal price is free shipping. Apparently not for this item.

no feedback. may as well buy one from a Nigerian prince

      • Even ones with feedback, can still be hit and miss.

120 to 150 USD will get you a unit with No-name Chinese Batteries and 190USD+ will be for branded batteries like LG which will probably get more performance out of them.

Normally for expensive items I wait until the next time I go back to visit China or get the wife to call seller to suss them out in native language.

  • Does this go uphill?
I have an electric scooter razor e300. Rated up to 100kg, has a 250w 24v motor and 2 x 12v 9ah batteries connected in series to make 24v (still 9ah on 24v). It is the most powerful of the electric razors sold in Australia.
It goes well on flat but as soon as the road is a little uphill it struggles and stops.

    • Gravity is your enemy. In a small way when you go uphill your trying to escape from earth's gravitational pull and that requires more power and increases the load on the motor.

    • Apparently this one is the 500watts which prob won't go up a hill. The 700watts one will

  • Does anyone actually have one? Feedbacks?

  • Dealsdirect had one of these things for $400 aus
Unsure of they are still in stock the re
