Xiaomi Piston 3 US$13.53 (AU$18.62), Redmi Note 2 Prime US$175 (AU$240) @ Everbuying

890

Everbuying is having a Xiaomi sale, and I noticed the Xiaomi Pistons 3 were cheaper than they were a few days ago. This is the cheapest I have seen for the 3.0 ones for a while, and their advertised shipping times seem decent.

I own the Piston 2.1, and the sound is the best I have heard from any earphone. Am very tempted to buy the new ones, except my old ones are still great.

Also a good price on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime

    • Hey Beerbudget, I bought a same Redmi note 2 in EB last week for U$171.99. Please let me know where you got the lowest price..I can ask price match in EB too..;) thanks buddy

  • So it's Note 2 Prime?

    • +1

I think so, but it does not say so on their webpage. But specs seems to match.

Does anyone know if the Xiaomi Piston 3 earphones are genuine?

    • They have a number of reviews on the site claiming so I'm placing my faith in them

    • I took the plunge, they have a 30 day money back guarantee anyway so should be fine

  • I bought Note 2 Prime with everbuying on 12th Oct and they shipped yesterday (16Oct) with tracking no. hopefully receive in 2-3 weeks..excited

  • extra 2% off using the mobile site

    • Damn it, read this after I ordered lol

  • Thanks OP. Bought one but paid 13.53 USD

    • +1

      Noted, adjusted :)
They changed the price, and added their 2 cents worth.

  • does Xiaomi note 2 advanced comes with playstore preinstalled and has a card slot ?

    • I ordered a xiaomi note 2 off jingdong recently it was just 146. I didn't see the point in getting the prime version as the cpu is only marginally overclocked. The extra 16gb storage is also not a big deal as I store all my media on a micro sd card which this supports. I'd rather save the extra money.

      • true, could you tell me if it has google services and playstore preinstalled. how is the camera quality and i guess jd.com takes more than 35 days as mentioned on the site .

        • Mine has not arrived yet aha. I think it does have google services preinstalled but I'm not fussed if it does not as I can just do it myself. Also I think it arrives within 35 days hopefully sooner though. I ordered mine about a week ago.

Should I buy my 15th pair of earphones this year? Hmm..

I did get a number of duds, so maybe I will.. if the SQ is good.

EDIT: Yeah, I couldn't resist. I know nothing about these or their quality but bought one anyway because I'm like that… I hope the cords are tangle resistant.

    • It actually cheaper on banggood with the 10% voucher. 14.59 usd without voucher and then 13.13 with it. Can get the voucher by signing up and buying from the banggood app.

      • +1

Too late. Oh well, it's not a meaningful discount.

It's only a question of who can be trusted more. Banggood have always sounded like a name for a Brothel to me, so it's hard to take them seriously. Then again, I've never heard of Everbuying. I just hope I get my product.

        • Yeah not a big deal but a saving is a saving. I think they are called bang good as you get 'good' 'bang' for your buck. Obviously it sounds like a seedly chinese brothel but i find them pretty reliable.

        • Or crash-repairer? ;-))

  • anywhere to buy these locally so we don't wait 28 years to get them?

  • +15

Hey guys I found out you can sign up with Everbuying to get EB points, which can be used as a discount for your purchase.

    1. Sign up - 100 points
    2. Edit your Avatar/Photo - 10 points
    3. Verify Email - 10 points

Total: 120 Points (The points can be applied at the checkout)

After using the points, I purchased the Xiaomi Piston 3 for USD 11.13 (AU $15.31) saving an extra AU $3.

    • +2

      thanks for the tip!
I used mobile site, total USD 10.86, < AUD 15

      • Thanks for that, extra 2% off with the mobile site

    • Fyi the 10% discount code cant be used (well it can, but you'll end up paying more).

I changed the currency on their site to AUD, used the 120 points and bought from the m. site on my pc. Checkout said $14.83Aud, which was sent as $10.86usd to paypal, who then charged me $15.51Aud.

      Not bad at all.

      • +1

@cheesecactus, in your paypal statement to whom the payment is made to? Mine being sent to "Hassan" [email protected]. Are yours the same? Sorry I'm just curious, cause normally payment are made to company.

        • +1

          Yep Hassan.

A name is pretty normal for ebay sellers and whatnot, however i would have expected an @everbuying email. I'm sure its fine though.

        • @cheesecactus: Oh ok, thx mate.

Here's an old comment from a similar post:

"Upgraded" from my iPhone 6 to the Prime around 6 weeks ago, took 6 days to arrive using the free TNT option as Dacs has pointed out

"Note that in the checkout one of the shipping options is "TNT (3-5 Business Days)" for free. Well for me it was." ~ Dacs

    A few things to note
    * Overheating makes my hands sweat. 8 Cores, overclocked, what do you expect?
    * Camera is poor. Really not worth taking photos unless the subject is incredibly still, otherwise a ghosting effect is really visible.
    * MiUi 7 does(did) not come preinstalled, because it's not released. There are Alphas going around but I considered it too much effort considering…
    * Buggy MiUi 6. Restarting crashes with certain games. Annoying things that can't be removed or disabled like the Chinese only app store that hijacks any browser app install links. Language can apparently be addressed with a global ROM, but meh.
    * It now has adware viruses that add links into any links in chrome, browser, firefox, opera. Avast isn't able to detect the malware. Coming from OSX, iOS, this pisses me off to no freaking end. How is this a thing, on my personal phone in the freaking future? THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
    * Music occasionally pauses randomly (app crash). Sucks when you're in the shower with a bluetooth speaker.
    * Music control widget doesn't play music (after app crash). Has to be opened, played and then the widget will work until next time it crashes.
    * Basically MiUi is an iOS rip off. Which is fine, it tries to simplify things and I like that. But even the 'previous' version of the OS sucks. I wouldn't count on MiUi 7 being more stable when it is released (possible next year). I'll try installing vanilla android for the best experience soon.
    * Terrible speaker on the back of the phone which is muffled/muted/sealed when lying on a flat surface. I have slept in thanks to the quietness when using the alarm.

    APART FROM ALL THAT
    * Ridiculously great phone
    * Super cheap phone
    * Super fast phone
    * Fantastic screen
    * Very decent battery life after the honeymoon phase
    * Makes Samsung users look like pretentious Apple users spending ridiculous amounts on phones.

Addendum, I have upgraded to MIUI7 and the issues with music pausing and the music widget not working has been fixed. The International ROM also prevents app links from being hijacked from the google play store into the Chinese Xiaomi version.

    • Cheers, but at the price wouldn't the Zenfone 2 be a better bet for a bit more?

  • +1

Great price on the Redmi Note 2 though that deal with the Z5 made me trigger finger way too itchy!

  • Is there any way to check if they are genuine or fake once you have it in your hands?

  • Just bought a pair (although I'm not sure why considering I use my jaybird bluebud x's everywhere), but can't hurt having a wired pair laying around I guess.
Thanks to the above EB points tip above I ordered them for a total of $15.90, so can't complain too much if they're fake.

  • +1

My payment in Paypal are sent to Hassan instead of everbuying. Wouldn't be normally the company name appear on the statement?

  • XIAOMI PISTON 3

I reckon the above link is Youth edition and not the reddot edition as per Everbuying earphone above

    • +2

FYI thats not the same pair of earphones. Thats the Youth version which is normally cheaper.

    • Can anyone comment on what the 'youth edition' is?

      Other than it being cheaper.

      Thanks

  • Bought one for $11.13USD when using 120 points and remove insurance.

    Thanks

  • I received my phone today and sad to say that it was riddled with Malware (Fun Weather etc.).

Have a read of other users with similar problems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-2/general/bloatwa…

Trying to uninstall the Malware is useless as it is apparently part of the ROM. The phone came with MIUI 6 so I assume that someone has somehow flashed a dodgy version of the OS after leaving the Xiaomi factory and before I received it.

Lucky for us, MIUI 7 was just realised (within hours of this post).

    Download: http://en.miui.com/thread-176188-1-1.html

    Instructions: http://en.miui.com/thread-175037-1-1.html

I am using the Fastboot method as the phone is new and therefore don't have to worry about backups etc.

      Hope this helps!

    • Just received mine, shipped 29th October

      • Dear Plebbbb,

I googled how to check Xiaomi Piston 3 and find below information, hope it will be helpful:
[Tips & Tutorials] How to check fake Xiaomi Piston Earbuds ( Full Details with photo )
        http://en.miui.com/thread-23239-1-1.html

        Have a great day!=^_^=

        Becky

        • that link is not for piston 3. This is the link i found http://en.miui.com/thread-154254-1-1.html

        • @plebbbb: If that guide can be trusted, my pair from everbuying are genuine.

I've tested the SQ. This is one beautiful set of earphones. I would buy again without a second thought.

I can't wait to see what Xiaomi can do with noise canceling.

For the price they charge, they really are producing quality products. These are amazing. Tangle free cords without the annoying bulky flat cables. The passive noise isolation is also better than the more expensive pairs I have from Bose and AT.

I can trust everbuying to sell genuine products. Aside from a painfully long wait to receive them, I woudn't hesitate to buy from them again.

    • i ordered on 17/10 and paid. still havent receive mine yet. living in metro sydney area.

      • Dear Vl3tbol,

        Have a great day!~@^_^@~

        Becky

        • Likewise, ordered on 17/10 still haven't received mine, also from Sydney.

        • i receive the packet today but someone open it up with a scissor (clean cut), packet deliver with empty content inside.

        • @vl3tbol:
Aha? Dear Vl3tbol,are you mean your packet is empty,so not receive the earphone?
Could you pls send me your order number by PM? I need forward this to our order department and shipping company,
          This is intolerable.

We will solve this for you.

  • I'm trying to buy the headhones but when I try to fill in the consignee information part, it won't accept .com.au email addresses, even though it's the same email I signed up with. Now how am I supposed to buy anything?

    • Rep can't reply to you, so email her [email protected]

    • Doesn't really matter now as I ended up using the gmail account I use with my phone. Still, they should really fix this.

      • Dear Mr White,

  • @everbuying:
Finally I received my order dated 18 Oct in Melb yesterday, looks fancy, quality sounds good, buttttttt:
The buttons doesn't work on neither PC nor iphone!
For PC, surprisingly none of 3 buttons works, but for iphone, just middle button works (SOMETIME it works to play/pause, sometime it activate siri, the other time you need to hold middle to activate siri!!!).

Got confused, is there any way to fix this?

    • I read somewhere that is normal for iphone - it only partially works.
On my android phone the buttons work fine (volume and play/pause)

      • But in the item title, it has said:
"Music Control for Mi Phone iPhone Smartphones MP3 MP4 Computers"
I can say it is NOT compatible (as claimed) for iphone and computer, unless there is a way to fix this…
Waiting for a response from a CSR at Everbuying

        • Dear Armin65,

I have confirmed with our products department.
For iOS system, the volume control buttons dont support, only works to play/pause.
For android system,it works fine for all buttons.

          Thanks!Have a great day.

          Becky

  • I finally got my pair of Pistons.. how do I check if they're genuine or not?

They don't have that code you can get by scratching a square to test online.

    • Look here, I used it myself. I believe they are indeed genuine, especially because of the braiding.

  • Got mine today. Also, no code I can check online.
