Hi all. Thought I'd share my good news story with you.
Just over two weeks ago I approached Cashrewards for this deal and immediately was born a strong bond and friendship with Andrew, the owner & MD. Two days later I again contacted Andrew for this deal. He could sense in my voice something was wrong, so I told him I'd just been given notice my job had been off-shored. He told me to get on a plane to Sydney to meet and discuss a few things with him. I was blown away. What was close to being the worst day of my life, was quite possibly turning out to be the best.
So a few days later, off I went to Sydney. We met, we spoke, and we spoke some more. We came up with a stack of ways to improve Cashrewards and make it the number 1 goto shopping website in Australia. He was even kind enough to take me to his home for lunch where I met the rest of his family. Words cannot describe how genuinely kind Andrew is. His business acumen is second to none. He offered me a job that day. It was just too good to refuse.
Out of courtesy, he also arranged a call with our very own Scotty, just so he was aware what was going on, and that there'd be no conflict of interest. I'll be performing a variety of tasks but primarily focusing on vendor negotiations, bringing in new clients, getting better deals, etc etc. Obviously, posting on OzB will not stop. I will post as a 'rep' for any Cashrewards deal, as 'associated' for deals indirectly related to Cashrewards, and of course there's all the other deals I'll continue to post as per normal. I'm not going anywhere.
I find it incredible to think I'll be earning a full-time income from doing something I absolutely love. I'll be working out of Melbourne, with regular trips to Sydney. I'm 100% committed to making this work, and I'll make sure everyone benefits. I won't leave anything unexplored.

Hey guys - I hope this message finds you well. It's with mixed emotions I share the news that after more than 8 incredible years at Cashrewards, the time has come for me to slow the pace a little and embark on a new chapter in my life. I wish to thank you all so very much for the ongoing support you've given me and the company during this time.
Cashrewards should be announcing a new OzB rep in the not too distant future, so please continue to support its growth and expansion.

I can vouch with absolute certainty that no one can match the speed with which you solve problems for your customers here.
I think I remember messaging you on a late Friday night about an issue with a claim many years ago. Obviously, I wasn't expecting any response until the next business week. A few minutes later, I receive a "Cashback Approved" email in my inbox, followed by a reply to my DM.
A+++ for exceeding all expectations as a rep for Cashrewards. You will be sorely missed.

Thank you for bringing us the best possible deals and always being around to help if things didn't go to plan. Thank you for everything you have done for me, as well as the community as a whole. I certainly do not envy the amount of messages you would have received, nor all the after-hours work you put in responding to messages at all hours of the day and night! Thanks for tirelessly answering questions, clarifying deals, chasing up and approving cashbacks, etc. There is so much work you do behind the scenes that wouldn't get noticed or credited for.

Having myself exited CR two years ago I was sad (and reflective) to hear from TA that he has decided to move on.
When I first met TA here on OzBargain (in the very early days of Cashrewards in 2015) we clicked straight away.
He had reached out to me to ask if CR could do an increase in cashback at eBay. Having known how prolific TA was at posting deals and driving sales I was able to arrange an increase from eBay. TA posted this deal
I can't remember exactly but we sold millions for eBay from that deal alone!
TA and I continued to chat and we became (and still are) great mates.
A few weeks later TA called me to say he'd been retrenched from his job. I suggested we meet and offered TA the role of Chief Customer Officer. To this day I consider bringing TA in to CR to be my best decision from over 40 years in business.
It's not just about helping people with getting their cashback issues sorted (for which there is unlikely to exist anyone ever again who could be so professional, knowledgeable and successful with helping trouble-shoot cashback issues) it is that TA has built in his DNA an innate kindness and genuine desire to help everyone save money .
What also sets TA apart is his painstaking attention to detail. It’s very hard to find people in this day and age who have the patience and fortitude to get right to the bottom of an issue and solve a problem for both the customer and the business.
Over the years TA became integral in all aspects of Cashrewards from tech to ops to marketing to growth and the list goes on. When Cashrewards became a public company in 2020 TA was with me ringing the bell at the ASX. Truth is I considered him like a co-founder and I'm absolutely certain that without him in the business Cashrewards would not have become as successful as it became.
In addition to driving perhaps a billion dollars in sales (or more?) for merchants through all his OzB deals (with and without Cashrewards) and solving many thousands of cashback issues for OzBargainers and Cashrewards members, TA has also helped thousands of sick kids through Cashrewards partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation whereby 1% of all Cashrewards redeemed goes to help sick kids and their families.

Good on you Andrew! TA often speaks highly of you, never a doubt about that. You’re a great entrepreneur and someone who thinks about everyone and everything rather than being narrow minded and blocking out assistance when offered.
To say CR was the trailblazer in the cashback industry is an understatement, you set the bar high and the competition is still trying to catch up. Live with no regrets is one of my biggest philosophy’s and it seems that you too took a punt and offered TA, this new kid on the block, an opportunity, and it paid off big time. Well done. And thanks again.
I must say, the main reason why I didn't really bother using other cashback sites even when they sometimes had slightly higher cashback rates is because of the ease of getting support through TA. I very rarely had issues but when I did, TA solved them quickly and easily. Good customer service really is key to keeping customers and TA definitely excelled. You sure know how to pick the right people!

From my time here since knowing you (online ofc) I've always had your support no matter what the issue was and likewise I returned the favour whenever you needed any - you're one of those best members (and reps) I've known. Every issue I had you went out of your way and managed to fix it urgently without a question. Curious to see who the new rep will be but you'll always be the best.
