Xiaomi Piston 3 Earphones for sale at Geekbuying. I did a quick search and I think these are the cheapest they have been on Ozbargain.

Plenty of good reviews for the Xiaomi Pistons. (I've owned versions 2 and 3 and they are great quality earphones for the price.)

Stealing the top comment to remind everyone the new xiaomi earphones were announced today. Expect to see more stores clearong out the v3.

      • I don't think so - the new Xiaomi Hybrids don't replace the Piston v3.

      • +1

So then we will find them 4 for $12?

  • +1

Our favourite people, GearBest have it for $11.89USD, however I would hands-down recommend the deal OP posted, due to issues with GB actually sending it out

    • I have had issues with GearBest sending out things as well, didn't realise it was a thing… if you're going to buy with them make sure you get tracking with it I guess.

      • +2

        Just don't buy from GB.

I'm still waiting for my shower speaker.

        • +2

Still waiting for my google 3d cardboard thingy :(

        • @colblair:

I actually received my virtual reality headset from them. The big black one that supports 6" phones.

          @rorymeister:

          sigh :(
I know I probably would've only used it a couple of times, but I still wanted it

        • Just don't buy from GearBest or GeekBuying?

        • +1

@chonkie: Just Gearbest. They're the ones that received the permanent ban from Ozb because people have not received their orders from 4 months ago.

        • @colblair: I never got mine either. Even though according to them it was shipped.

        • +1

How is gearbest messing this up so badly?

I have ordered 4 things over the past 4 months and only received one of them.

  • Looks like this is part of the promotion for Singles Day celebration in China.

I've got Version 2 and they're pretty awesome.

Anyone know a good place to buy a Xiaomi Note 2 (non Prime)? the previous JD deal was a complete let-down — the seller doesn't want to ship.

Geek is selling one for $238

Anybody know if Piston 3 design has changed lately? I got some from Banggood recently and the guide on the volume control has changed from a small dot on the centre button to two raised edges between the three buttons, everything else is identical. I find it more convenient than the original pair I had but I didn't see any info on it. I scanned the QR code on the headphones and it said they are original but I guess that wouldn't be too hard to rip off. Also the barcode on the plastic case is different to my first pair..

    Thoughts from somebody more knowledgeable?

    • I bought a set of Piston 3's from Banggood on Sept 28th. They came with the small dot centre button. I haven't scanned the QR code though.

My set ended up having a faulty plug.

  • Whats so good about this earphone?
Much better than whats given by Samsung in the box?
Trying to justify if this is worth purchasing..

    • I have both but there aren't much differences between the two. But piston looks much more premium.

      • I disagree, Piston 3s are pretty damn good for the price.
KZ also make some good IEM's in a similar price range.

    • I found the Samsung ones weren't comfortable and didn't stay in my ears, but the Pistons did. Both sound good but I liked the Pistons more.

  • i still havent recieved mine from the previous deal!

    • Was that a deal with Geekbuying? There hasn't been a deal on these for months.

      • everbuying?

        • Looks like it. Everbuying and Geekbuying are not related, besides having "buying" in their name.

Any experience with these guys and shipping times? Have been waiting SEVEN WEEKS for my pair of piston 3s to come from Allbuy, it's a joke. Guessing they've been lost along the line.

    • For free shipping it's about 3 weeks, but can take up to 30 business days. DHL/TNT is 3-5 days and EMS is about a week.

  • +7

Cheaper at banggood with 6% disount : AU$16.73

    • +2

      Plus 4.8% cashback vs 1.8%.

      • Except you usually don't get cashback if the coupon isn't listed on cashrewards.

    • whats the shipping like compared to geekbuying?

      • It takes around 3 weeks for me to get my stuff from Banggood.

  • +1

Good price. But Delivery will take ages.

However I would like to know if they are better LG beats that comes with G4

  • Are these likely to be legit?

    • +1

      Yes.

  • i have a pair, they are pretty good for the money.

  • Are these actually good, or good for a Chinese brand?

    • +1

They are actually good. Better and more reliable so far than what I've previously used, I can definitely recommend them (I'm not an audiophile though!)

  • Got my first pair of Pistons in the mail yesterday.

Does anyone else have a problem with this earphones not extending into the ear far each to make a snug fit?

I've found when putting them in that the large part of the earphones hit my outer ear, before the bud suction is lodged firmly inside my ear. Don't know if I'm the odd one or the earphones, although I've never had this problem before with Sennheisser, Brain Wavez, MEE and phone OEM earphones (HTC and Motorola).

    • Never tried these, but most earphones fit better if you wear them over-ear style

      • I'll give that a try, see if the different angle gets them to sit in deeper.

    • +1

They also come with three different ear bud sizes if the stock one doesn't fit snugly.

      • Hmm, my Pistons (from a previous deal, possibly not Piston 3's) didn't come with any other buds. I do have others lying around so will give them a go, however the problem wasn't so much fit, but how deep they penetrated into the ear. Basically the rest of the earphone was tight against my ear, but the bud still wasn't deep enough to lodge in my ear tightly.

        • Just read a post that said the Youth Edition have flat cables. That's what I've got, and would explain the problems with fit!

Note to others when the YE's are on sale, they are a slightly different size!

    • Yeah, I couldn't get the Piston 3's I recently received from Banggood to fit either. I tried all three sets of rubber ear tips but none of them fit. I finally bought a set of 3 comply earfoam tips…but I haven't tried the comply's as yet (it turns out that my Piston 3's are faulty and I don't want to put the comply foam tips on themfor fear of tearing the foam trying to take it off later) so I can't confirm if the comply's fit or not (although I expect them to).

For reference, I've had Ultimate Ears and BrainWavz IEM's before and haven't had fit issues.

I have to say that I am impressed with Banggood customer service as they agreed to replace the Piston 3's that I received (after I sent them a video of the fault). Having said that I haven't actually received the replacement as yet…so I may be jumping the gun a bit!

    • Don't fit well for me either so it's not just you.

Thinking about trying foam tips but deep down I suspect it won't help.

  • Do these work with Apple now?

    • +1

Unfortunately not all the buttons work with Apple.

  • You can get the Youth Version for ~AUD12 as well. Apparently the difference in sound is negligible, but the YE has flat cables and a more plastic construction.

    • youth can hear some sound which we adult can't hear anymore.

  • Can anyone compare these to the go-to budget iems like havi b3,re-400 or the gr-07?

  • 1 per order only.
Tried to get a pair for me & my wife, nup has to be 2 orders -_-!

  • +1

    ordered one for the girlfriend

  • How are these for smaller ears? Long canals just end up sticking out of my ears and its a hassle finding the right fit

  • Anyone know if any tips which for in these. All three sizes supplied are too small for my ears. Thanks.

  • Out of stock :(

  • Gosh… was looking forward to a new pair.. Sold out.

  • +1

Youth Edition and Dazzle versions are instock if anyone is interested.

  • I am still waiting for my order from this deal that was supposedly shipped on the 16th. So keep in mind that shipping can take quite a bit of time…

  • Xiaomi has just announced some new earphones so we might see a few deals for these ones.

    http://en.miui.com/thread-180183-1-1.html

  • Mine hasn't been shipped out yet?

Anyone else have theirs shipped with tracking number?

    • Ordered on the 5th, also hasn't been shipped

      • Also ordered on the 5th; got an email on the 12th to say they were shipped.

      • Got one yet? If not, send me your order number so I can let them know.

        • I got an tracking email, but the tracking system says "Sent to Sydney" on 13 Nov 2015 and there's been nothing since.

Seems that Geekbuying shipping is about on par with dx.com

        • @macrocephalic: That's because they all have to use Singapore Post, China Post or PostNL. Once it leaves China it's not going to be updated or will get very few updates. They usually acknowledge the destination country and sometimes if it has hit our customs. Completely out of our control.

    • Order number? I'll let customer service know.

  • Ordered on the fifth, delivered today to Sydney :)
