    Contacted Customer Service over the phone and offered me a refund, when I said I wanted a Paypal refund they said they would have to pass on to the 'online people' to do that for me.

    I ordered a few of these and have got the same email as @Devil Dog Eyes from the Glenny store in VIC. I'm not actually fussed as i understand pricing errors occur.

    Having spoken with customer service however, I was told that the items were out of stock and that their policy was to cancel the order and refund the individual. I thought this was strange and decided to look on their website where i found this:

    Q My order was confirmed but I have been contacted that an item is out of stock. Why is this?
    A. On occasion an item instore may be damaged or missing and we will only find out when we pick your order. Although this does not happen often, we will contact you to arrange a refund or replacement item in this instance.

    I honestly don't think the item was out of stock so I've given my details to customer service and will speak to a manager tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind. That said, I don't expect much from it. Good luck to the rest of you and i'll let you know what they say.

      at least my 1TB HDD from QLD they fronted up and told me it was a pricing error

          Spoke to a manager and told them off for the bs out of stock story. They apologised and said it was a pricing error and the customer service person gave incorrect information.

          They said they received an email from head office telling them to cancel all orders relating to specific products.

          Said that I should simply get a refund from the C&C division in head office - so we'll see how long that takes.

          I also told them off for sending me an email to contact them, said it was poor customer service and that they should have contacted me, simply said it was a pricing error and processed a refund, instead of asking me to contact them and having a customer service person regurgitate default, non-specific information.

          That said, I tried to do things respectfully and said i understand that these things happen. For me it was more about the poor customer service.

    I had an argument with them.. I said I dont believe the item is out of stock, I understand if its a pricing error but dont tell me any of this BS story. David Jones should have decent stock inventory software.

    DJ said its Dick Smiths fault and I should contact them. I told her that's like contacting a chicken when you are not happy about eggs…

    Then they refused to refund my paypal and wanted my credit card details.. I refused this and told them I paid with paypal I want the refund back to paypal.
    manager is calling me tomorrow..

      Come on man, how much did you spend, 10 dollars? There's always a risk of such With pricing error, calling people and arguing with them makes things worse, it makes them want to help out even less.

      Just start a Paypal dispute, put all this info in there, they will sort this out for you. Just sit back and relax. This is why we pay PayPal fees.

        I did start a paypal dispute.

        I am not angry/upset that my order got cancelled. I am slightly surprised that they are not honest about it, and tried to blame Dick Smith.

        I just cant fathom why they can withdraw money from my paypal account and then refuse to repay it that way when they have made the error.

      I understand how you feel, at least level with us and own your mistake. To top it off the email sent out from the glen did not have sorry for inconvenience or apologies it was very short/blunt and felt like they had made no effort. could not even provide me the phone number of customer support which they requested I contact (email below).

      QLD was a much nicer experience, had a phone call from a rep, she mentioned it was a pricing error and was sympathetic to my pain and apologised on behalf of DJs -fair enough - still would have liked my hdd but ahh can't win them all..

      in saying that if a big company can get away with listing a product at a crazy price, get it posted on OzB, after a day or 2 remove the item send outs emails cancelling the orders, refund money and bask in the 1000's of new Personal information records you have in your database (names, emails, phone numbers, address, paypal/credit card details) - maybe if you did not have so much to lose you could see this information off to spammers and dodgy marketing companies.

    I got a call from them late today around 4pm. I was told the orders been cancelled because of human Error Fair enough. I was then asked to supply a credit card because it was taking along time for it to go through pay pal. I was asked how long is a long time, one or two weeks? They dont know. I then told them I would lodge a paypal dispute if they didnt process the refund thru pay pal. SHe put me on hold and then came back to me and said they will process it on pay pal. I got the email saying its been refunded straight away!

    I just did a PP dispute. It's wasting time to try to contact to their customer service and waiting for almost 30 mins without anything.

      I just open a DD too. They not only did not send me the cancellation letter, but categorize my order under someone else name/credit card. I fully believe all my contact information and PayPal information has been leaked. (they showed me the other person's contact information as well as the email communications.) Terrible experience!

  • The memory card items on my 3 orders got cancelled. The orders went to shipping without them.

  • picked up mine today. had to huff and puff a bit to get them to honour it.

    • Did you just go to the store without receiving the confirmation email from them?

      • I had the email saying it was ready to collect.
        they had called and left a VM during the week to discuss the order, but they didn't advise it was cancelled.

  • Just got off the phone with David Jones online. They are going to cancel my orders (paid for shipping) back to my paypal.
    I had to call them to get it done.

    Opened a pay pal dispute.
    Spoken to 2 different DJ staff who said they will get someone from online to contact me.
    No one contacted me.. I expect more from a premium merchant, this is not a cheap Chinese retailer

      Premium prices doesn't necessary comes with premium customer service. Especially dealing with racist customers.

        I am not racist. I just merely realizing the customer service I receive from a cheap Chinese seller who only makes a few cents every sale is not supposed to be as good as the service I get dealing with a company like Myers or David Jones.

        Just like a restaurant I dont expect the same level of services from Macdonalds as I get from a 5 star hotel.

        Nothing to do with Racism.. My wife is actually Chinese.. Nice play though..

    I put in a paypal dispute on the 13th. They haven't even bothered to reply to it. Raised to a paypal claim.
