Not massive bargains, but they had:

    LG 3D Bluray Player BP-440 - $29.70
    Sony Bluray Player BDP-S1200 - $29.99

Unrelated. One store said they had MacBook Airs in the morning but sold out. Other store said that they had no idea about any Apple sales. The guy looked more fishy than Nemo though…

    • Which store ?

      • Sydney City under MYER.

Today I picked up Changhong 50inch from Cranbourne VIC store for $209 ex demo model. Also got a $20 PSP street, $7.50 xbox one media remote and a $5 micro usb car 2amp charger

G500 gaming mouse for $18, good deal for a top tier gaming mouse.

    • Discontinued old model. EB selling for $28.

      • +1

        Still a good deal.

  • Does anyone know what 'mice' they are referring to from $10? I really doubt the whole price list has been uploaded if that's the case. Or maybe it is that those items are all being kept for the staff and all the large and bulky things such as printers and tvs were sold to the public?

  • Canberra had nothing. Dude behind the counter said the display ipads were going for $99 but he couldn't sell them until Apple told him he could.

    Cluster(profanity).

    • +1

      I smell bs.

    • I was just there too and staff said they didn't have any iPads or iPhones left as part of this sale :(

    • +5

$99 but he couldn't sell them until his families and friends told him he could.

    • Was this at the Belconnen store?

  • any updates from Altona VIC please?

    • +1

Not much, they have the moto g, xperia z, no camera, no ps4,no apple except ipad. Staff were friendly but still struggling to print out price sticker and putting them on the item. You have to specifically ask for them to scan items manually.

      • Cheers bro

Have emporium sold all apple display stock?

    • I doubt this store is closing. It seems the major ones like chadstone do not have the same clearance.

  • +3

David Jones Market St, Sydney had the 65" 4K Sony TV for $1,300. Confirmed via their pricelist which also said they had stock.

    • What model? Can you have it delivered or pickup on the weekend?

    • which model is this ?

      • Operative word "had"?

    • Sorry guys, didn't get the exact model number, but it was 8500 series.

I picked up a LG 3D Blu-Ray/HD recorder (500GB) combo for $50, down from $249, from David Jones in Melbourne CBD. There was a cheaper $30 version that someone before me picked up, not sure what the difference was.

No discounted TV's left at DJ's, all sold.

    • +1

Hi that was me, I was just trying my luck as someone else had posted they picked one up for $30 and the guy didn't even know it was on sale. There's definitely bargains out there, just not enough time :)

      • i bought one @ $80, so there is different prices on same item?

  • How about ex display or apple stock @ DJ's?

  • +1

We went to Dick Smith Seven Hills during lunch break. We decided to visit this branch rather than Westpoint Blacktown as this is in a smaller shopping centre and usually less customer. Checked the items and no significant sales aside from managers specials. While having a lunch checked again the TA's postings regarding needing to ask the actual price as the items were not marked with the new prices. Did that and was told that they know about the sale and ALL specials were sold this morning. Well how can you believe them when the shop was not busy and almost no customer at that time.

    • I went into a DS at 930 and it was packed, and display stuff was already sold, so they could be legit.

  • I think when I go back this arvo to see if something I originally passed on is still there, I'll bring a peace offering (Tim Tams or such). Lets share some goodies with the staff.

    • +2

In that case, don't bother with Coles. They can't even make a peace offering with the makers of Tim Tams!

      • They can't even make a peace offering with the makers of Tim Tams!

        Scumbag Campbells.

  • Is Marion SA store worth visiting? I have some dick giftcards that I want to get rid of before they become worthless.

    • Would like to know too

    • +1

It depends on if you're after a specific product (went there late yesterday to see if they had any Canon 7D mark ii's left but they sold out). If you're anywhere near then pay it a visit and see what you can find since it's the biggest store in Adelaide (a guy in the West Lakes store told me its their central store).

  • Good suggestion NWLike

  • Will there be more items tomorrow?

  • Went to Syd CBD store for samsung phone was advised by 2 staff that no sales on phone :-(

  • Gonna check the Parramatta Westfield store later and report back if I see anything (it's late but you never know) - unless someone's had an experience already, please let me/us know!

    • I called they said they had nothing might still be worth checking out

Checked with Lilydale store, nothing there for sale as well.

  • Picked up the DSE 21.5 inch for $50 at Emporium Melbourne. Last one it looked like however they had the 60cm and 80cm v's there but didnt seem to be on sale. I asked and got them looked up. Saw P&S Nikons going on sale for about $20

    • Which P&S Nikons Parnoid?

      • Not sure exactly. I saw utough for about $50

  • Went into Grafton store and there were no clearance Tv's, did pick up a Logitech m905 mouse for $40, there were a couple more on the shelf, and a
XL Emergency Power Bank 16000mAh POWERBANK for $20, there was a couple left. Also still quite a few games left on the table up the front.

Armadale Central - SFA, no apple products, TVs not discounted. (manager rude, staff unhelpful)
Armadale City - They 'lost' 2 LG 40"UHD, very limited range, Brand name TVs not discounted (manager rude, staff helpful)
Maddington - Picked up LG 40" UHD $239. No Apple products, Brand name TVs not discounted. (helpful staff and manager)

    • Thanks for the update..got no luck calling every stores in Perth

    • Any more LG UHD TV when you left Maddington store?

  • iPad Air 64GB wifi+cellular $398
    IPad Air 128GB wifi+cellular $498

    • Which store please?

    • Where was this spotted at?

      • This was at Castle Towers DJ. But I bought the last one. Best bet is to ask store staff to check which stores have stock.

        • Well done on the score :) I called some stores before and staff were telling me ipad airs don't come in 64gb can feel the rage

    • Which store, have you actually bought one of IPAD Air with that price?

    • Which store, have you actually bought one of IPAD Air with that price?

      • Macquarie DS showed 2 64GB iPad Air cellular available

    • -4

      bought 5 128Gb in Burwood; 1 left

  • Managed to get a Nikon D3200 kit, but without the smaller lens at the Perth CBD store. The box was sitting behind the desk without a receipt stuck to it (there were a few reserved ones with the receipt), I asked about it and they were happy to sell it when I said that I was fine without the missing lens. Still cost $248, so not as much of a bargain as getting both lenses, but that's my son's Christmas sorted.

    • Argh I saw that, I figured someone was coming back to pick it up haha

      • I thought that too, but reckoned it was worth asking. It was, sorry mate ;-)

  • Dick Smith Taylors Lakes (142a/399 Melton Hwy, Taylors Lakes VIC 3038) Had 1 unit of ex display model T.Vs, brands include JVC, LG and an asian brand starting with the letter C. I bought the one and only JVC 40" at 13:33 and the manager was only beginning to put the clearance tags on. I only looked at T.Vs.

    • Damn, I was there, is there any good tvs left?

      • It looked like I was one of the first people there as she had not put up any clearance tags up on the tvs yet. I don't know what you would define as good but there were still tvs available when I left..

        • How many tags did she put on? When I was there, I saw only one Tv has clearance tag.

        • @linhlink: none left mate just went

  • All these cheap tvs … are they ex display or brand new?

    • Ex display and in store stock only.

  • keep the post's coming guys great info so far and be nice!!! Karma.

  • Had a good chat with polite and helpful staff at Horsham (VIC), who were mostly pretty clueless about what was going on. They were still dealing with all the reductions that came through at 9AM, and said the next wave were due 9AM tomorrow.

No huge bargains - typical PVR, Blu-Ray, Media Player deals - and some pretty ordinary iPod specials. No MacBooks or iPads.

TVs were just reduced to clearance - the $270 JVC and $649 LG deals aforementioned. No insane cheap deals.

Heaps of genuine Apple and Samsung phone covers for $2.

A pretty average selection of phone specials - Note 4 4G for $649, a cheap Sony for $14 - but I managed to get an HTC One M8 for $210. Be a good Christmas present for Mum!

Will drop in again tomorrow and see what's there.

Stay polite and civil, everyone - these people are doing their best.

  • Media still reporting a 70% off everything this weekend. I reckon it might only be for stock they haven't cleared yet.
Still, some hope for people who didn't get what they wanted the last two days.

      • That looks plausible! Hope there'll be something for Melbourne as well.

Why aren't they doing these sales online? Is there some incentive for them to NOT sell the stuff online? Wouldn't it be faster, more efficient and a better experience for everyone?

      • Is that fake/old? I think it's a legacy URL from a September event.

        • Shoot, you're right! Aaaand it's gone now.

        • +2

          @nikobaxton:

If Dick Smith as much time serving customers as they do watching our website maybe there wont be so many angry customers

        • @Roary:

A rep in the store I went to this morning literally said: "If you check OzBargain, you'll know that people were lining up before 9am to buy stuff." :p

        • @nikobaxton:
At the store I was at we were like 5-6 people waiting for the doors to open at 9am.
Most were looking for the items from yesterday though and had no clue about the items on today.

  • +3

Just got back from Dick Smith in Chatswood Chase - I saw 1 x Apple 5C phone left in the display cabinet. THere was also 1 x Nikon D3200 but the store sample one - No box could be found so instead i got a NIKON J1 TLK CSC Black with twin lens for $197. Place is a mad house but Mario was very helpful!
Didn't get a chance to see what TV's etc were left as i left as soon as i found a camera.
Most items you will need to get the staff to scan as there wasn't much discounted tickets out just sale signs

  • +3

    Airport West, liars.

Hiding all games behind counter in their shelves.
32in LG display stock for $600+, yes $600 for display stock only. Also that the stock not shown is full price, another $500 on top.
No apple products at this store. But they said that no DSE sells Apple products and that I should go to the Apple store. Lol

    • Do they have any tv?

      • +1

FIRST OF ALL THE STAFF IS VERY UNHELPFUL, AND NOT GIVING ANSWERS PROPERLY. ONLY 2 GUYS RUNNING THE STORE LIKE A VILLAGE SHOP….

  • +2

I walked into the mac park dse and they had nothing that anyone actually wants to buy on sale.

all the "real" deals were gone at 9am

  • At Browns Plains QLD and got an 'old stock' 55 inch UHD LG, was last one too…old stock released last year haha.

    • anything else worthwhile at BP?

      • Not that i saw, anything worthwhile has been picked clean.
As someone else mentioned there are apparently more items to be marked down over next couple of days but they couldn't/ wouldn't tell me if there was anything outstanding coming up.

    • Further to this - it was still advertised as $1499 but I asked and he said yes on sale. Dunno why it wasn't marked. When I was there there were heaps of DS and JVC TV's, unsure if on sale though, but there were heaps

  • Went to Golden Grove, no tv's on sale did see a basket full of PS4 games behind the counter. Not sure if they were display cases or not. Guy didn't really answer when I asked about them.

    • The guy put them there when I was there yesterday. They're mostly discounted, but you have to ask. They were really helpful to me yesterday.

  • +4

The staff at Cannington (both in and outside of Carousel shopping centre) were all clueless - there didn't seem to be anything for sale except a few things like "Buy 2 get 40% off".

Nothing had a great price on it at all except a few really old games for PS3

Not a single printer was marked down at all and the staff just looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about a clearance sale.

    • Thanks for saving me the trip!

    • Hard to believe none of them knew about Ozbargain, when your back was turned were they celebrating?

      • +2

The guy I spoke to in Cannington yesterday knew all about Ozbargain and mentioned it when I asked about sales. Perhaps it depends how you approach them as I've had nothing but positive, helpful responses from Carousel, Cannington, Belmont and Perth CBD staff. Both Carousel and Belmont phoned around different stores checking for a Nikon D3200, but every store was engaged. The staff member (may have been the manager) at Carousel even used her personal mobile to call a friend at the Riverton branch to check after being unable to get through on the main line.

The staff in these stores will be getting dozens of requests from OzBargainers fishing for deals. Remember, you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so smile, be pleasant and you may get more than you expect.

        • +1

Honey? I am bringing two bottles with me to every DSE store I go tomorrow.

      • Yup - I was thinking that was the case!!

  • Any TV antennas?

    • Saw a guy walk away with two internal TV antennas.
