DOWN TO $300.60 with the 10% OFF ebay Voucher - Matchup with Cash Rewards for a further 3.3% off bringing it to $291.60

I'm yet to see this model ever sell for sub $300, i went today to Samsung and Compared the 2 units and from a video perspective and usage i couldn't see the big reason to go for a Galaxy Tab S2, other than a weight difference it was an obvious choice for me.

  • Pros of tab A:

    -s pen

    Cons of tab A:

    -mediocre screen
    -mediocre hardware
-base model is 16gb compared to 32gb with tab s2.

    • I think the model in this deal doesn't have the S Pen.

      • Oh that's even worse then.

        • The Good Guys eBay also stocks the model with S Pen. $398 before discount code.

        • @OzBen:
I got my tab s2 from the good guys a few weeks ago for about $350 with the 20% off sale. Plus I get 10% back from try.

Perhaps waiting for a sale would be better.

  • the tab A screen is very average compared to other tablets in the same price range, and I doubt it will ever see marshmallow so bit of an end path for android updates also.

    • Hey mate, what other tablets would you recommend?

I personally recommend the Nexus 10 to people still. It's super easy to flash Marshmallow 6.0 on, and they're dirt cheap.

They have gorgeous 2.5k 16:10 displays that kick the pants off the Tab A, the Dual Core A15 CPU + T604 GPU is plenty powerful still, and they have front facing stereo speakers, a must.

If you want something more recent, the Z2 tablet had a deal posted today for $359. That has a worse screen than the 10, but much newer/more powerful SoC, more RAM and front facing speakers. It's also getting an official Marshmallow 6.0 update. It's also waterproof/dustproof, a nice bonus.

If budget is no concern, the Z4 tablet is the tablet to beat. The screen is another 2.5k 16:10 affair and it's truly gorgeous. The S810 has room to breath in the big chassis, so it's plenty powerful and runs cool. The chassis itself is a gorgeous polished metal frame and a grippy soft touch backing. It's also waterproof/dustproof and has even better front facing stereo speakers. It's ridiculously light and thin too.

        • But the Nexus 10 unless your buying it used is a $600 New unit?
The Z2 is a $350 unit, and as you said the Z4 is a $800 Unit.

The usage of a Tab A is far different to the usage of a Z2/4 even.. Sure you could pickup a used Nexus 10 but the comparison is still way off.

Best 10" tablet thoughts? For mums chrissy present but want best value for money. Don't mind brand as long as good track record.

    • I got this unit for my mum, her main phone is a Motorola 3rd Generation and she loves that to absolute bits which isnt even a top lineup phone, she isnt doing much more than basic apps Facebook/Youtube/Web Browsing i find alot of people who diss the Tab A purely do it cause it doesn't have the top lineup of specs.

You buy a unit like this for its use and purpose for the person.
