Update (14/1):

The T&C of their latest email state:

  • I highlighted this problem over 2 months ago. Posted it numerous times on this site. Oh well, just copy and past the link as suggested.

  • @neil is there a safeguard in place to stop somebody from continuously requesting referral links in order to gather a list of all the referrals on OzBargain?

    • No. Before having ING in the automated referral system, all of the links were on the ING referral wiki anyway.

  • I need an ING direct referral code to sign up. Will use the first person's to message me. CAN'T BE THE SAME ONE AS THE OP'S OR POSTED ON OZBARGAIN PREVIOUSLY.

Thanks, will edit this once I've received a code.

  • Got a code thanks

    • so I'm assuming you're a customer now, you mind sending me a code to sign up as well? :)

      • Hiya . It's a targeted offer so I wasn't sent a referral code. I'm sure some other person on here can send you theirs though.

        • Sent one to them earlier in case they needed one

  • anyone received the bonus cash yet?

  • If they're not going to honour it I may aswell close my account. What a waste of time.

  • The bonus amounts for these sorts of offers usually aren't paid instantly. From the Ts & Cs - "For eligible applicants, the $75 will be deposited into the applicant’s Orange Everyday the month after the friend meets all applicable Eligibility Criteria", so if the account was opened and the eligibility criteria met in January, the $75 bonus would be paid in February (and I assume this applies to the friend's account as well).

    • +2

I opened the account and met the criteria in December so I expect I should see the $75 by end January. I was hoping that it was 4 weeks from the the day I met the criteria but that didn't happen. Will see and post here if or when I get it.

      • Thanks, please let us know.

      • I called ING a few weeks back and they stated that it can take up to 6 weeks to receive the bonus amount credited to one's account and to check back if it's not received by the end of January (I signed up soon after seeing this post and met the criteria on the 18th December).

I messaged ING yesterday to enquire about the bonus (as it still hasn't been added to my account) and they responded that they had no record of me registering for this promotion and wanted to know where I saw the promo.

I do like ING and have used it as my main account since opening it, so I do hope they'll honour this promotion.

      • Received the $75 today! Hope everyone else gets theirs today too.

        • Same for me, just appeared in my account.

Hopefully the random referral I used also received their referral bonus too.

  • How can I create a referral code? I have an ING account…help!

    • From old post:

Referral Code can be found in emails ING Direct sent to you.

    • Search your mailbox for an email sent from ing

  • Just checked my account today and I've received the $75. Deposited the money on 21 Dec 2015

    • Ditto! (Says 20/01/2016 for me though.)

    • Also deposited on the 21st, received my $75 today :)

  • Got $75 today as well. I'm very curious to know if someone got more than 1 referral (more than $75), including the OP :D

This is why a lot of posters were asking for ALL referrals to be randomised and not let OP have his referral stand out.

Obviously ING cottoned on (probably due to sheer amount of referrals by OP) and now entire ozbargain referrers could be missing out.

Pretty silly to let one referral code stand out. If everyone had a fair go we might all have got a referral or two each and ING would have been none the wiser.

    Lesson learned I hope ozbargain.

    • +1

I was one of the early posters making this arguments and most people were against me. OP would have made thousands on this deal.

      This community is retarded sometimes.

      • I just thought I'd weigh in again as I publicly posted against you(r opinion).

I still am against your opinion - but the reason provided by scar4ace differs to the reason you provided.

Scar4ace is simply saying as a result of OP's code being used so often, his code now stands out and resulted in ING being alerted to this deal being posted on Ozbargain. Your reasoning was purely to do with fairness. It's not the same.

Though, I think that this deal may have been identified by a random ING employee regardless (irrespective of OP's referral code). Ozbargain is not exactly an unknown website in Australia anymore.. (i.e. I'm not agreeing with scar4ace either)

    • Agree with this. Obviously amazing for the OP; super nice bonus received probably.

    • OP should take the credit so I suggest giving OP 24 hours standing out for referral deals and put random links before OP's link.

  • Looks like deal has been extended. Signed up on 25th, hopefully still get my $75 bonus. ING wasn't able to provide me a referral code when I contacted them. How did others get theirs?

"Hurry, the offer is limited to the first 4,000 eligible applicants who satisfy the eligibility criteria by 28 February 2016."

    • +1

In an email from them when the current offer started.

  • those who received the $75, did you use the OP's referral code or someone else's?

    • Used someone elses

    • I used the random referral link.

  • Hmm the person I referred hasn't received it and still gets emails saying they didn't deposit, when i sent $1002 top their account from my own ing direct account.

Sending from ing still counts as an external account, right?

    • edit: ok got it now.

      Woo! ING da MVP.

  • Just received an email saying this offer is exteneded until the 28th of Feb 2016 for the first 4000 customers

    • Me too. Maybe they won't be too fussed now how the code was spread.

  • Sorry… so is there no way to share referral codes for ING now? ING doesnt appear in the wiki

    • It's under your own account settings.

      • Thanks found it

  • Just got my bonus today. Opened up 15th January.

  • Received my bonus today as well, listed as Miscellaneous Credit
    Opened 13th Jan

  • The promotion has been exrended so that's mean the code can be used even if the mail said until 31 of January? Any help on this?

    • its been extended so will work just go to ing refer link and enter one the codes from someone and you will receive $75 :)

  • Does anyone know if the "Hurry, the offer is limited to the first 4,000 eligible applicants.." is applicable?

  • its been extended and i think 4000 is a marketing figure to herd us in :P

  • Extended to 31 March

    • Yep just got an email with a referral code. Now expires 31 Mar.

    • Yeah just got an email too, this deal is back! Can post after 4pm today

    • Me too, got the referral link yesterday. Valid for the first 6000 referrals rather than the previous 4000

    • Just wondering what are the chances of getting these targeted offers from ING Direct.

Those of you who have recently received a referral code from ING, how long have you opened your accounts with them?

      • Opened mine around Christmas.

  • Yeah also got referral link.

  • +1

Thanks whoever signed up with my referral code via the random referral links! I got my bonus today; really appreciate it! Wish I didn't remove my referral link after the big debate on whether or not people would receive their bonus. Either way; that one referral is super appreciated atm.

  • So how do other people see my referral code?

    • Randomly, through the referral link.

      • +1

  • So what happened? What ended up happening?

I got scared off by the whole warning thing from ING and removed my referral code immediately from the system, as my understanding was that ING Direct would now know where the link for the referrals came from (i.e. they would know it came from Ozbargain). Also, given that there is no way to actually see the referral code (as it is coded into the system) and that the wiki is no longer used, I was sure ING would easily identify Ozbargain codes.

Did everyone just keep their code in? Did you guys get the referral credit from any Ozbargain clicks?

  • I did not realise ING Direct would have a problem with Ozbargain now.It must be due to OP generating numerous referrals.Of course, not OP's fault.

Keep it random only is good to avoid one getting too many in these situations so as not to flag in their systems.

  • If I held an ING account over 12 months ago can I still qualify for this ?

    • From the T&C:

Maximum of one $75 bonus payment per person (this includes any payment made to an account jointly held by you). If you have previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 14 December 2015, then you are ineligible for this offer.

      So I would say no.

  • I've just joined today using someone's referral code (not from OzBargain). Do new users get the invite to refer others?

    • I also want to know this!

    • No. But by now you're no longer new :)

  • has anyone successfully been able to close the client number, not just the account?

  • The t&c said if we meet eligibility criteria by 31 Jan, does that mean this deal considered expired?

  • My bad, expires 30 April

  • Furthermore, extended for an extra 2,000 applicants to a total of 6,000 now. I'm going to call to find out if this is a scam and they already have more than 6,000 applicants or whether the offer is still on the table.

  • The offer commences 14 December 2015 and is only available to the first 6,000 eligible applicants who satisfy the current Eligibility Criteria by 31 May 2016.

Seems extended to 31 May 2016. Hard to believe they haven't fill in the 6,000 quota in 6 months.

    • maybe it's 6000 more people?

  • I already have Orange Everyday, can I sign up for another card to get the $25?

    Edit: Saw this in T&C's

If you have previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 13 December 2015, then you are ineligible for this offer.

Just got an email from ING direct for the $75 referral campaign with a new referrer code. It has been extended to 31/7/16 and valid for 6000 applicants.

  • Mines the same hasn't changed

  • Same email as Ceceilia.
Received this today saying your friend needs to be the first 6000 applicants and "open an Orange Everyday bank account and deposit their pay of $1,000 or more within a calendar month into their new Orange Everyday by 31 July 2016."

    • Yes, I also got this email… updated my Referral code :)

  • I updated with my referral code. It seems the one I had previously put on ozb had been removed so not sure if the code was the same. Updated now anyway. Hope to receive a lovely $75 bonus in my account in the future.

  • Got the e-mail in this afternoon. Referral code updated.

  • +2

Got it too, but how many people DO NOT have ING accounts yet…?

  • how to make this thread pop up ?

  • +1

I just received an email from ING saying the deal is still going until 31st July with another 6000 applicants available!

  • Just got the same email this afternoon. Referral code updated, but I think most of the ozbargainers got the ING account already lol

  • Orange Everyday $75 Bonus Payment Offer (December) – Conditions for the referrer

The referrer and a friend can each receive $75 when the friend:
•registers for the promotion using the referrer’s unique Friend Code (code to be entered, exactly how it appears),
•opens an Orange Everyday bank account (using the same details used to register for the promotion with us), and
•deposits $1,000 or more within a calendar month from an external account into any personal ING DIRECT account in the friend’s name (excluding Living Super),
    collectively the 'Eligibility Criteria'.

The offer commences on 14 December 2015 and is only available to those applicants who satisfy the current Eligibility Criteria by 31 July 2016.

If your friend has previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 13 December 2015, then both you and your friend are ineligible for this offer.

  • The new referral invitation email mentioned Ozbargain is not a place to get referral bonus again.

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the ‘OzBargain’ website or other similar websites), we may refuse to pay the $75 cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

  • According to the ING lady on the phone, if the refer link works then the deal is still valid (i.e. 6000 people haven't successfully signed up yet).

I don't know what happens when you sign-up after 5999 confirmed sign-ups and you and 50 others haven't deposited yet? If they won't allow more than 6000 then they should at least state if you may fail by the pending sign-up competition. Otherwise most people would wait for the next deal/referral opportunity.

  • Got another email from ING today with this deal still being advertised..
I'm assuming their '6000 applicant' window is just a continually moving window that never expires

  • Got another email from ING saying:

referral offer is extended by 31 October 2016.

    Happy referring…

  • do you know how long it would take until we get the $75?
    a week/month after we deposited the $1000?

    • It took around 4 days for me.

      • can we deposit that $1000 from anywhere?
For example, from another ING Direct account not belonging to the same person?
Or it has to be from non ING Direct account?
Or it has to be really a pay transfer from a company?
