    • I don't think you can predict that.
I'm going to jump from TPG as well.
Lucky I didn't sign to vaya

  • +1

OP, is international SMS or MMS included?

  • am currently still with liveconnected. if i sign up to this do u move the service over so i dont have to deal with them at all?

  • I noticed in their Critical Information Summary:

    Tracking your spend
We’ll provide you with SMS usage alerts once you’ve reached approximately:
    • 50%, 70%, 85% and 100% of your Included Value or Included Data Allowance (whichever comes first).
    • When you reach 100% of your Included Value or Included Data Allowance, if you do not contact us, an outgoing bar will be placed on your service. We do this to
minimise the likelihood of incurring unexpectedly high bills.

Does that mean you get stopped on making more calls/data usage?
I don't mind on data being blocked but calls…its just like a prepaid service at $0 balance…

    • I think it's just for data but you could probably request it be removed even if it is for calls

      • ok so you have to call them and tell them to remove the bar on just the data then but not calls?
I would not mind if this is the case.

  • Your unlimited talk is just from Jeenee to Jeenee right? Not really unlimited. It is actually really quite limited.

    • +1

Unlimited talk on the $25 plan is to all Aus fixed and mobile

      • Thanks. I must have been seeing an old version of the site. Those plans weren't showing up and all I could see were the normal ones.

  • +2

Yesssss, been waiting a while for something like this after Vaya's cash grab.

  • +4

Jeenee Mobile does not offer international voice calls, video calls or roaming at this time.

Total deal breaker for me. Sticking with Amaysim, who's international rates are great.

  • +1

Signed up. Goodbye Liveconnected, Hello Jenee.

    • Same, good bye LC.

  • I can't seem to add the plan to the cart to sign up, anybody else having this issue? I've tried both firefox and safari.

  • Is this better than telstras $5 deal, with 7.5GB data, $700 calls, $200 international calls?

    • +1

      where at?

      • I think this is for the $30 starter packs, so you won't be able to keep your number.

      • $5 for $30 starter pack (one month only for the 5GB bonus data).

  • is there a limit on how many people joining? I want to join slightly later

  • Hi, is voicemail retrieval include in monthly call minutes?

  • +2

Does anyone know if there is a credit card fee? Their help line said no, but their CIS says there is a 1% fee.

Also, do Jeenee expire plans like Vaya, or will I be able to stay on these plans?

    Cheers.

    • a confirmation of any credit card processing fee would be good, also a month recurs on the same day everymonth (1Jan, 2Feb, 3Mar, etc) or is it one of those 28/30 days expiry thing?

      • +1

I called them and they said there was an error in the document and there are no credit card fees. They also do not remove customers from plans and apparently you can stay on the plan as long as you like.

  • How do you port your current number over?

    • Isnt there an option?

      • +2

Actually there is, just later on in the stages. Not straight away.

    • During checkout it asks you if you want a new number or port across.

  • +1

Nice to see a competitive plan against Vaya.

  • +1

Can we do tethering with this??

  • +2

Bought 2, going to wait till shipping conformation before dealing with live connected. I was paying $12 + $10 plan freeze for 1.5gb data with them.

    • +3

I think I'll also jump on this too, coming from the exact same plan at live connected. Be careful you don't port out of live connected too early. They will charge you more if you've used more than what you should have so far within the month. So don't go crazy and try and waste your live connected credit just to use it up

    • what do you have to do to deal with liveconnected? I have two services on the same plan and considering jumping to this too. I didn't know we had to talk with LC to port over?

      • I don't think you need to contact them. I only contacted them to complain about my data usage being chewed up a lot faster over the last couple of months.. But I'm using my phone less. They said if my plan no longer suits me, to go to another provider. So liveconnected don't seem to care about their customers. Been with them since 2012 and I felt that comment from them was disgusting.

      • +1

        To Phantom and Kimba,

Kimba is right to keep this in mind.

If you leave / port out of LC, your new provider (ie: Jeenee) will do all the work so you don't need to contact LC at all. But LC will pro-rata your monthly allowance based on the date you leave.

So if your monthly cycle date is 5th (next one coming up is 5th Jan 2016). And you port out of LC on the 1st. They will pro rata your allowance to 26/30 days x your allowance. So don't use up 100% of it or you'll pay for the over extra.

        Hope thats clear.

        Cheers, Ben.

    • +1

On the same 1.5gb LC $12+$10 plan freeze. Looking to move over as well.

HOWEVER something to consider first - I spend a lot of time on Facebook, and LC seems to have some generous free FB data not included in their 1.5gb cap. I haven't found anything in Jeenee's fine print about free FB data. The amount of FB data I chew up could easily makes the 300mb difference between LC and Jeenee.

  • how do i get off liveeonnected? can anyone who has left them let me know> thanks .. i honestly dunno how to cancel if i cannot contact a human person

    • +1

If you're looking to change provider, you can port your number over if you wish to do so. Jeenee (if you want to change your plan to this) will do all the work for you.

  • Joined! Perfect timing, was looking for a cheap high data plan :)

  • I left Jeenee because I was stuck on a grandfathered plan with poor value compared against their new plans that they were offering new customers.

  • +1

Awesome, can get rid of Vaya now.

Not liking how they don't treat existing customers with the same deals (like many companies it seems), it's like, oh yeah, let's piss off our existing customer base because like, who cares about retaining them.

It's a shame that the alternative is Vaya.

    • I'm with vaya too. Do you know if we have to pay a fee to port out of vaya and has anyone been successful with getting the deposit back?

  • Is the $25 pennywise plan limited to 6months??? rep please answer

    • Read first comments, it doesn't expire.

  • If I order this now, can I activate it later? Or is it activated as soon as I get it? coughAmaysimcough

  • +2

No International roaming is a deal breaker for me, else I will switch all family mobile to these plan. Knowing that I can make emergency phone call when I need to when overseas is critical to me. Hopefully you will have roaming sorted soon.

  • so when you guys port do they start charging the moment they ship the sim out or when they complete the port/activate the service?

    • I didn't join the pennywise plans, but back when i joined. I think there's a section you can type to enter your old company's details, etc.

I had to call up when SIM came and they ported for me then.

  • +1

Are there excess data charges on the plans? Or they cut you off at 100%?

  • So the question has been asked a thousand times, but not answered.. and i'd really like to know too.

Does Jeenee start charging you as soon as they send the sim.. OR once you receive the sim and actually activate it before 31st January?

I want to know for the reason of, i need the new year to start so i can start a new month with Liveconnected.. as this month i will go close to using up the calls/message credit due to Christmas and New Years.. then Liveconnected can refund me the correct pro-rata amount.

    • Their website says they charge you as soon as they send you the SIM.

  • -1

Anyone got the SIM yet? I know Xmas holidays and all means the delivery will be late.

    • Looks like they haven't shipped mine — I had to callback and give them my credit card details and they'd be shipping after Jan 6th.

    • I ordered on 19th, got an SMS on 21st saying my order has been processed and the SIM will be posted 'shortly'. Still waiting. Paid the extra for express shipping.

Starting to get annoying since I have no credit left with my current provider so can't make calls. Tried calling their phone centre - gave up after 10 minutes waiting. Sent an email - still waiting for a response after 48 hours.

EDIT; Got through to the call centre - will be shipped next week.

  • Do you get a shipping confirmation when they've sent it? Still haven't heard anything from them a part from the confirmation email.

    • Only an SMS 3 days after ordering, stating the order had been processed and would be sent out shortly.

  • OP, am I correct in reading that the '$30 unlimited talk and text' plan is the same as the '$25 Pennywise Sim' plan, but with 1GB LESS data?

    Critical info pdf comparison below:
    https://www.jeenee.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/cis/CIS-$25_Pennywise_SIM.pdf
    https://www.jeenee.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/cis/CIS-$30_Unlimited_Talk_&_Text_SIM.pdf

Reason I ask is, as a current TPG customer, I was going to join the $30 unlimited plan, but it seems the cheaper $25 Pennywise plan is better value*.

*With the discount included, the $30 plan becomes $20, but I am speaking on prices after the initial 6 month discount period.

What I don't understand is, this prepay service ask so many personal questions for granting no credit, you have to pay up front.
They ask questions like what your occupation is how long you have been working whether you renting and how much…all for a prepay service? Stuff that could not be bothered.
Jenny Mobile : what a load of BS

  • how much does it cost to leave Jeennee if I even decide to leave?

  • +1

Joined on the 19th, still no sim yet..

    • I also joined on the 19th. Got my sim Wed last week, had to sign for it at the post office.

      Activation came through yesterday.

      • Ok I understand that it was holidays and such but just wondering whats the process for activation? do you just call them and they'll put it through?

        • Yep, exactly that. You just call up and they put it through.

        • Got mine today, it was apparently sent out on Monday. According to the guy on the phone it'll take 48 hours to switch over since I'm porting my existing number from Optus.

        • @mtran0708: Did the billing period start before the sim arrived?

        • +1

          @phew:

Billing period started for me when they sent out sim. (was already day 3 billing cycle when i activated)
They say 7 days to receive sim, but its registered post, so got it within 2 (living in Melbourne suburbs)
They said 48 hours for activation but took ~6 business hours (ported from vaya - as also on Optus, data and voicemail took another ~4 business hours)

        • +1

@phew: Yes I am on currently on my 5th day of the billing period. Also my sim is already active. Finding that the coverage pretty poor getting 1-2 bars atm.

  • I paid on the 24th of december and haven't heard anything. I understand holidays slow them down but still. This is taking a long time.

    • I got a text saying I needed to confirm details (they couldn't trace my credit history for some reason so required direct debit to be organised before sim was sent). No email or anything else, so if you missed the text, you wouldn't know. I'd give them a call to confirm. Takes about 8-10 minutes wait on phone, but friendly call centre.

      • I went through that last week. Just yesterday however, I got a message telling me to call them regarding an order. They texted me

Your order is on hold. Please call Jenee Mobile on 1300064631 to finalise your order.

The number doesn't work, so I called their normal helpline instead and had to verbally agree to direct debit once more.

Couple of hours later i got the SIM at Auspost.

      • I recently got an email asking me to confirm my email address and then a text a day or two after that saying it would be sent soon. I'm glad it is finally coming soon. Took them long enough considering we pay the first month straight up and most of the first month was spent with me hearing absolutely nothing.

        • froggym: might still be a bit of a wait, I got that text (saying it would be sent soon) before Christmas and still don't have the SIMs yet so guessing you're a couple of weeks behind that? I think they define "soon" fairly loosely…

  • I signed up Monday still waiting for info although they did bill me card…

  • So you have to choose post-paid right? not pre paid? Apologies, confused noob.

  • Going to Sign up my dad and little brother on this. Nice and cheap..

  • +3

3 weeks still no sim card, this is shocking service

    • Same here :(

      • Called them before to ask about the status of my sim card. They said they have a back log due to the festive season, etc. Said it will be shipped this week and I will receive it next week as of today.

    • Agree, this is poor. I received an SMS confirmation from them before Christmas saying they were shipping and saying what to do to activate when the SIMs arrive. 3 weeks and they haven't come.

They charged upfront the first month's access is poor but looks like I won't even have the sims in that period. Meanwhile can hardly use current provider due pro-rata exit month and not knowing when that is going to occur.

  • Guys which plan is better $18 or $25,still unable to decide as i will still be using $10/mth for lycamobile for international calls..any suggestion..

    • Surely which one is "better" is based on your own personal needs.

Do you need the extra 700mb? Do you need the unlimited local calls?

  • Was about to go with jeenee instead i went with aldimobil.. Prepaid 1gb per month, $40 credit - 400 minutes and bonus 500mb every weekend.. All for $20 in their aldi M prepaid plan..

  • Not impressed with their service so far. Signed up over 2 weeks ago, $18 was immediately deducted from my bank account, and I still haven't received my simcard.

  • Ordered on 18/12, received on 24th. No hassles so far apart from for some reason my $25 plan is showing as 1.5GB instead of 2.5GB as stated. Anyone else have this problem? I'm investigating now.

    • I want to order $25 plan aswell.Mate how long porting takes .Which suburb you live as you got sim quickly.

      • I'm in Adelaide, porting was extremely quick, probably an hour after I called them!

  • ordered 3x sim xmas day, still not received. poor service.
called them and got the usual story… we've been inundated, will get the sims out shortly

  • i called them last Tue, I have been told they would send the sim card end of last week, i got my missed item card on Thu, so i think they sent the sim card out last Thu. (I live 2km from their shop.) I got my sim card on monday morning, and called to active, i have been told it takes 24-48 hours to active the card.(i used my number transferred from telechoice) after 2 hours, its actived.

  • Ordered on the 22/12/15 and it was sent on the 13/01/16 and received today 15/01/16 for others that are waiting.

    • Interesting… I ordered 20/12, it hasn't been sent yet, I contacted their customer service and got a response today that they estimate 10 business days, which suggests February?

  • Apparently no one works in Jeenee anymore! Hours on phone and no email reply.

    • -5

B&M store in parra, or use Facebook and Twitter…no need for a neg.

      • +1

Of course need for a neg. THERE'S NO ONE THERE TO ACTIVATE THE SIM CARD. FB, TWITTER, CALL, SMS, EMAIL, EVERYTHING

  • Great to see the rep has disappeared too.

    • Looks like the rep is trying to make my neg disappear. Obviously this is a rubbish fraudulent deal but hey that's no reason for a neg!

  • A neg vote is legitimate if there's concern about the quality of the service provided by the business. You're not the only one frustrated by their call centre not being open during the scheduled hours, unknown delays to get a SIM - unsure when I'll get mine but looks like at least 5 weeks (it's already at a month and they haven't posted it despite sending the "about to post" SMS on 23 Dec), and email replies they say will be responded within 48 hours taking a week and then not providing response that makes any sense (saying delivery will take up to 10 business days when it has already been a month). Starting to think my previous provider was the better of the two, and I haven't even got to try Jeenee's service despite paying for the plan from a month ago.
