The camera itself is a great deal, but you might also need to spend another $60 for a diving case, or $160 for remote wifi control. Whether to buy a gopro or sony depends on budget and how you will use the camera. The build-in GPS and image stabiliser make sony best to to be used on bikes or vehicles. However, mounting on human body looks awkward to me, exspecially on a chest mount. The footages from camera side mounted on helmet is also not very ideal.My opinion is Gopro silver is a better choice if you could afford it.
This link compares the Sony AS200V to the GoPro Silver HD. Apart from distortion at the sides and not being as good at distant audio sources, the cheaper Sony seems to come out ahead. YMMV.
I have watched this review before. There is no doubt that Sony shines in color and low light performance etc. Interestingly, the same guy recently posted a review to compare many different action cameras in 2015. His personal favorite is still Gopro 4 silver.
Bought two! At least five left at Harvey Norman Burleigh Waters. Was disappointed as no preview screen, but found the Sony "playmobile" app, so you can use a smart phone as a view screen and remote.

I too was waiting, I had pickup in HN Moorabbin but they were out of stock and only expecting some in a weeks time, but i checked store stock and there was some in HN springvale so they transferred the pickup store to Springvale and picked it up from there. Probably if you have not heard that means they are waiting for stock, call them and find out and see if other stores nearby carry stock so that you can pick it from there.
I called the moorabin store too but they said they couldn't change my pick up location, only online people could do that. Who did you speak at Harvey Norman?

A little sad I missed out on this was weighting this up vs the xiaomi, Lets hope it can drop again with the xmas sales, Sony needs to drop its prices to compete with gopro

Ok so went to collect mine and a salesman said he'd sort it for me. He looked at the invoice where it said that it comes as an accessory with a laptop. He was adamant and said I've got to talk to someone because it's ridiculously cheap. He was acting almost like I wasn't going to walk out of the door with it. Annoyed me quite a bit actually as he had a snide look to him. He then approached his manager and this is when I thought, here we go they aren't going to honour it as it was supposed to be a stand alone product.
Manager looked at computer and then said yep no worries thanks see ya.
