  • Thanks TA.

Girlfriend and I bought a really nice bed frame from HN of all places and it's on hold.

  • Was excited then read 'selected brands' :(

    • +1

From the t&c: Offer excludes Miele, Falcon, NEFF, AEG, Gaggenau, ASKO, St George, Fagor, De Detrich, Elica and Apple products

      • +10

Amex cant tell what u spend it on… however 350 spend at gerrys is probably usually 100 over what u get elsewhere

        • +3

Unless you bargain them down or simply price match

        • +3

He's trying to be a Dick.

Haha. That has made my day.

      • Excitement is back :D, thanks, (the context was : half awake that early in the morning, saw the deal , got excited, read 'selected brands', back to sleep again )

  • Looks like I will get that new phone.

  • +10

    Includes gift cards bought online.

Buy gift card -> use gift card on exclusion list

  • Bloody hell. Only did C&C on a Note 5 hours before this went live. How did I pay - Amex of course!

    • +2

Just buy another with this promo and refund with the old receipt.

    • +1

Cancel the order then buy again.

      • Got it via click and collect. Will have to look at cancelling it.

        • +3

Well it was a bit of stuffing around but managed to cancel it okay and then re-placed the order using a new HN account (for the $25 discount) and my Amex (for the $50 discount).

I told the girl on the customer help line what I was doing and why. She had no probs and understood why. Said to call the store once I had confirmation to arrange an earlier than normal pickup.

    • +1

why you buy from them at first place????

  • I have two amex cards, can I split the payment on an item costing $800 (ie one transaction) so I can get the cash back on both of my cards?

    • +1

      Yes.

      • thanks

      • -4

        Sorry No:

        Terms & Conditions

Offer only applies to spend on this Card. It does not apply to spend on any supplementary Cards on this account or any other American Express Cards you might hold.

        • +3

          Sorry, you're wrong.

It has always worked for multiple cards with manual registration, despite what the T&C state.

GerryG. Are they separate AMEX cards? If so, will definitely work. If one is a supplementary card register both and it should work for both. Has always worked for me on pretty much every AMEX offer with manual registration.

        • Do both of your cards have same number? It does not allow me to register both as they share same number even with different email and name.

        • @ur enq: Some banks use the same number for supplementary cards. Unfortunate but you will not be able to register again because of it.

  • I think it would work as long as they let you split the payment. Obviously register both cards with different e-mail addresses first.

Alternatively use the $25 newsletter voucher with the $50 amex to get $75 off.

    • +1

Same email account, 12 different AMEX cards no problem.

      • My wife found that she could only get the Haigues chocolate deal on one of her two AmEx cards so I'm not sure if it was a user error or if AmEx connect is restricting some deals. Personally I have two different email addresses for my two AmEx cards to avoid that problem.

        • Not all offers are available on all AMEX products unless there's a manual sign up page.
Putting different email address on different accounts makes no difference whatsoever. On one of my accounts with AMEX I have 4 additional card holders, I signed up them up all for the 711 offer under the 1 email address. Got the bonus onto the bonus account 5 times, as advertised, from each holder.

        • +4

lol haigues chocolate.. must be the pirated version.

  • +1

Different email addresses? On Amex connect, you can link all your (bank) cards to one account, including supplementary cards as far as I know. Just use 'switch' card at the top right corner to go from Bank1 to Bank2 or main to supplementary card holder.

    • +1

Was going to link cards together to save the logins then I see this:

Can I participate in Amex Offers with more than one American Express Card?
If you manage multiple Cards on your americanexpress.com account, ONLY ONE of the eligible Cards will be able to take advantage of an offer.

If your eligible Cards have separate americanexpress.com accounts (unique IDs and passwords), they will each be able to access available offers.

      • Or probably just use the manual enrolment page.

      • I guess that means you have an Amex issued Amex? Amex Connect is for bank-issued cards only.

      • I have two amex cards linked on the same login and it worked for me with the first choice offer

  • In the terms and conditions - Phone orders are not applicable ?

    • aye

  • I just bought a Canon 10-18mm lens from them for just over $350, and that was after a price match. Does anyone know whether I could return my lens then repurchase it to benefit from this deal?

  • Excludes purchases of eCards online and gift cards in-store.
    Includes gift cards bought online.

but there are no gift cards online.

received amex $50 credit email straight after

    $368-$50=$318=merry christmas

    • In store? Otherwise the newsletter could have reduced it to below $300

      • damn forgot the $25 newseltter!!!

bought online, so yeah you could get it for $293!

        • +2

          no price match online

        • -1

how to get price match online?

        • Explain more about this newsletter please- how do I get the discount?

        • @aldoduco:

i got my price match online via the online chat, i just asked if they would price match bigw. they asked for the link and came back saying yes they would price match.

they then asked for my full name and email then they sent me an email with the offer.

i just had to click on the email link and pay for it.

        • Newsletter reduces price to below $350!

        • @ycon: I think it refers to this thread (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194595)

          Effectively this (http://harveynorman.lyrishq.com.au/combined_sign_up/)

Problem is "how to get price match online?"

List price of a PS4 500GB console is $397 on HN website at the moment.

        • @icecream: Just speaking to them on chat, they can only match the online price (bigW's online price is $479)… Can someone upload a receipt?

        • +1

@Mugu: Just be aware that applying the $25 voucher on $368 would reduce the overall cost to $343. You'd then need to add a $7 item to your 'basket' in order to meet the $350 AMEX spend, in order to qualify for the $50 credit. I can just see people rushing into applying the $25 newsletter code, only to be disappointed when they don't qualify for the AMEX credit.

        • +1

          @ilubbargains:

cheers for that, i updated my instructions above.

        • +1

@ilubbargains: agree but "in one or more transactions" meaning you can always get something later to push the total spend at HN to $350 and still qualify.

        • @ycon:

did you send them this link?
          https://www.bigw.com.au/product/playstation-4-console-500gb-…

its $368, where did they see $419?

        • +1

          @Mugu:

          In store price $368.00

          Online price $479.00

        • @ycon:

Yeah, a receipt gives big help.

I am chatting with HN live chat right now. They saw BigW advertised $368 as in store price, therefore HN online sales department refused to price match that. Reason is being lower in store price from competitors isn't valid to be matched by online price of HN online store.

          Sounds doggy, right?

        • no, it's legit

        • @icecream: I would have sent this link to the catalogue instead if I were you https://www.bigw.com.au/bigw-catalogues?gclid=Cj0KEQiAhuSzBR…

        • @imahapyboy:

i must be lucky then, but my order is still under review by their online team, not sure if it will go through or not.

i guess we can still do in store price match? the only difference is losing out the $25 newsletter offer

        • @wtfnodeal:

          Thanks, I will try that.

        • +1

          @ycon:

Try the eBay BIG W link. It includes free delivey.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-PlayStation-4-500GB-Console-W…

        • @bennib0i: That was to target- but Target have it for $368 too (http://www.target.com.au/p/playstation-4-reg-5-gb-console-wh…).

IT WORKED ! get them to price match Target.com.au. You cannot use the $25 newletter voucher on this discount.

        • @ycon:

          WELLDONE! MERRY X'MAS

        • @ycon: good work. but why cannot use the $25 voucher?

        • +1

          @sywater:

i guess because of the last sentence of the Terms

*To redeem your $25 online discount voucher you must create an online Harvey Norman account and log in. Only for use with a minimum order value of $150, excluding delivery. Voucher is limited to 1 per Harvey Norman online account and email subscription. The voucher will only be valid for 30 days from the date you receive your email. Excludes Harvey Norman Gift Cards, iTunes Gift Cards and services. Only available for redemption via Harvey Norman Online. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.

        • @sywater: Because the way the discount is a voucher, you cannot "stack" them on top of each other.

        • @Mugu:

I doubt you can stack vouchers.

You would only either choose to pricematch voucher the live chat people give you or the $25 voucher

        • @ycon: Thanks, then no bother to chat online anymore.

  • What does it mean "Phone orders are not applicable"? Does that mean making purchase via phones?

  • Live chat:
    ME:
I plan to buy the offer for in-store pickup. In your policy, it says you will price match (nothing specific about being online)
    NADIA:
Yes it does this is a Condtional Offer by Bit W their Online and In store prices are different
And as I advised you already I cannot match an In store price if their Advertised price is specifically for In store purchase Only

  • nice! $999 - $150 = $849 for ipad pro 32gb! thanks alot! just need to buy $61 gift card to make it $1050 for 3 amex cards

  • I want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 5- Is this offer not valid for buying phones?

  • Thanks op, just picked up an LG vacuum cleaner http://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-handstick-cordless-vacuum-… for 349, added something cheap to bump it over 350, theres a 75 dollar cash back and the 50 amex credit so all up after rebate it was 224. Very happy!

  • Hello can someone tell me can this be used on multiple purchases ie use the card to purchase a something over 350 and then use the same card to purchase another item (another transaction) on another receipt over 350 again. Or once it's redeemed on card it will only work once
    Thanks

    • +1

      Once

  • Just bought a LG Nexus 5X.

    $636 - $25 voucher - $50 Amex credit.

I am going overseas in Feb 2016 (claim tax $55.55)

    Comes down to $505.45

    • Did you receive the AMEX credit on the spot?

      • Yes I received an email straight away.

  • +7

You ever get that sinking feeling of ripping yourself off. Just enrolled went out and picked up a Dyson v6 for $448. Used a $100 gift card meaning remaining was $348 on the AMEX. Not even realising I hadn't met the require spend. Epic fail!

Quickly checked t&cs and thankfully it can me made over multiple transactions and not in one translation only! Wow what a relief!! Thanks ozb for allowing me to air out my sob story. Merry Christmas to you all!

  • Bought 4x $350 gift cards

MacBook Air 13" ($1388) and $12 remaining on gift card for $1200 out of pocket. Thanks OP!

    • Sorry to ask why risk it with gift cards instead of split payments?

      • t&c claims the offer excludes apple products.

        • +2

T&C also claims the offer excludes gift cards, so it makes no difference.

        • @forumninja:
Excludes purchases of eCards online and gift cards in-store.
          Includes gift cards bought online.

        • +2

          @sywater:

They dont sell gift cards online ( i couldnt find it )

      • It just made sense at the time to do so. I had to use a friends amex as well so it'd be strange with a few people swiping cards at the cashier. I just got him to buy gift cards for me and I bought mine as well. Then went to the computers checkout to finish the transaction. Also, i didn't really have anything else I wanted to buy but I wanted the 4th $50 credit so I bought a gift card to reach 4x$350 instead of paying $338 on the last card and not being eligible for the offer.

all this is just my logic, you can do whatever you feel is better :)

        • -1

Hi, may I ask what kind of gift cards did you buy, physical ones from the store?

        • Where did you buy the gift cards? Did you get the email confirmation that $50 will be rewarded in all 4 Amex email accounts?

          I am after Surface book.

        • @CheapyAus: I can confirm that I bought ipad mini 2 and few eGift Cards to make up $350 and I got the email from AMEX saying congrats you wll be getting $50 Credit. My Card NAB AMEX. So now I need think of what best use my other 3 amex cards. I did get -25 HN Online Registration as well. The only thing is I had to pay for Postage $5.95 and couldn't collect when I added the gift vouchers, even tho gift vouchers are coming thru email.

        • how did you pay egfit card online?? i can't see that option available

  • +1

Do you need an AMEX issue card for these kind of offers or can you use a AMEX card from a another bank?

    • I am curious about that as well. I dont have any sort of AMEX card but can get it easily from my Bank.Getting it directly from AMEX is another issue.
