Pay with American Express and get 30 dollars off in addition to this! jackpot.

    • Min spend $100 (perhaps $110 if you use the voucher so that your payment is still over $100)

      • +1

As it's done on AMEX's side Id almost guarentee you need $100 put onto your card (so $110 spend) to get that cash back

  • You can't click & collect, so you need to pay for delivery (min appears to be $6.95).

    • Yep :(

    • +1

      Free delivery @ $150 spend

    • They do have Click and Collect.

      • +1

        Only in Victoria.

    • Vic has click and collect and they say it will be nation wide soon…. Don't know when, just what they emailed me.

      • Needs to be added to OP.

    • +2

$3.05 off my first order and saves me from going out in the 40 degree heat :)

You can use code VIPCHAT for free delivery without minimum spend

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/225752

      • VIPCHAT code is no longer valid according to Tim on their live chat.

        • -3

          Try VVIPCHAT.

          ;)

        • Where is the live chat on their site!?

        • -2

Now I'm really confused. According to their site there's one store about 70km away. So I phoned their 1800 number to ask if it does click and collect. The recording said, "Welcome to Coles Liquor." But… there only about a dozen Coles stores between me and that one store 70km away - some of which must also sell liquor!?

          1. Why is the 1800 number for First Choice Liquor going to Coles?

          2. If the reason is because First Choice is located in Coles stores, then why don't all those other Coles stores have a First Choice!?

        • @realfamilyman: Only some have been rebranded from Liquor Land.

        • -4

I guess… but more than a bit silly for their website to say the only store is 70km away, when the First Choice phone number redirects me to Coles - and there's other Coles nearby. Else, they should have separate phone numbers. They're saying they are the same, but also saying they're not the same. It's just plain dumb.

        • @realfamilyman: Came up on the right after a little while but I think someone has to be manning the line otherwise it probably won't come up.

        • @realfamilyman:
Coles Liquor is banner for their liquor brands, which comprise of:
          Liquorland
          Liquorland Express
          1st Choice Liquor
          Vintage Cellars

@Grado: Ah, ok - thanks. Nice if they had it display, "Offline" instead.

  • I got excited there as thought click and collect but not an option god sake get with the times, they would probably get more business this way or at least with this deal.

    • I concur, they defintely won't be my "first choice" when it comes to liquor

      • +1

Click & Collect here in VIC with no minimum order value. Fantastic deal for us :D!

        • +1

$1 for a bottle of Penfolds? Yes please!

        • @sween64:

          Penfold's is a brand not a wine.

        • Yeah cool if you can actually get it. I ordered $15 of wine, which apparently got cancelled as they nicely informed me after I got to the store. Funnily enough the charge on my card remains, despite their assurances that it would be refunded by 5 today.

I'll stick with Dan Murphy's hey.

    • +2

I read sake as in the Japanese sake.

  • 2-5 business days delivery :( won't be able to get the xmas drink

    • +1

I ordered on the 17th, combining the free shipping and the Amex deal that were on OzBargain on the 16th and 17th. They delivered to metropolitan Sydney (via Toll Fast couriers in Penrith) on the 22nd. The $30 cashback appeared on the AmEx account on the 18th.

So yeah, it won't happen in time for Christmas, but they were MUCH faster than the Dan's order I placed a couple of weeks ago.

(They messed up one of my orders slightly, delivered a carton of Asahi Soukai when I ordered Super Dry. No replies to email asking them to fix it though)

The combination of no click-and-collect in NSW and the bizarre up-and-down daily changes to pricing (more often up than down I think) means that 1st Choice aren't exactly my first choice either :-(

  • +2

If I lived somewhere I could click and collect I'd be getting right onto this for $8:

  • So if they offer click and collect in some stores how come its not showing online?

    • +2

Because there's no C&C in WA

    • from their online chat:

      Penny says

We now offer Click and Collect from your local Victorian First Choice Store! This allows you to place your order online and pick it up at your leisure. All you need to do is ensure you slect your local store in the checkout which will verify the availability of this service.

  • +2

    Thanks. Ordered 6 x Pepperjack Shiraz delivered for $111.95 - $10 code - $30 Amex offer = $71.95
    Not bad for $12/bottle!

    • Thanks, I thought last time I got PJ for $15 it was good value !!

  • $21 delivery charge for 3 cases of beers and no C&C in NSW, I think I pass.

  • Are the baileys still on special?

      • dan's is cheaper if want this one only…and no shipping in my case.

        • Actually Dan's is $21.95, so only 5c cheaper. I bought a bottle of this myself. Really good price. Thanks OP.

        • the stars are aligning…..
          5x baileys =$110
          Less coupon $100
          Less Amex $70
Less flybuys 1000pts ($5) bonus for spending > $40 (likely targeted, but make sure you check your flybuys account) = $65
Unfortunately am in NSW so 6.95 shipping = $72
          =$14.40 per bottle

Beats Sydney airport duty free which has 3x 1L bottles for $72

        • @battler: Nice haul, well done.

  • +4

    No C&C in QLD is a game-spoiler!

    • Why bloody not!!!

  • Wow amazing deal, thanks OP!

    • +1

Not that good of a deal, We have to pay for Delivery which is $13… no sale here
Good for VIC, tho as they can save on delivery.

      • Yep well exactly, I am in VIC so this is awesome. No way I'd get the price anywhere for the bottle I bought, and the order was ready to be picked up 45 mins after I placed it.

    • $1.60 in NSW :(

  • For scotch drinkers: https://www.1stchoice.com.au/Spirits/glenmorangie-10yo-malt-…
    Glenmorangie comes down to $47!
Man I wish I had an AMEX :(

    • $37/bottle if you get 2 (with AMEX deal)

      • Don't tease me :/

    • $33 with team member discount and Amex

  • Thanks for posting this OP. I only spent around $10 after applying the discount code and I got free delivery somehow

  • +1

The expiry of the coupon is the 31st December.

  • +1

Code works more than just first order. So could work really well with amex deal as $100 spend can be over multiple transactions

    • +1

Until First Choice cancel all but your first order.

      • @sween64 how will they know?

        • Same credit card.

        • @sween64: what if someone has 10 credit cards ;)

    • +1

So 1x bottle of Jacob Creek's Reserve Shiraz is $ 11 and with coupon it's $ 1.00. Does it mean I have to submit 100x order in order to qualify for Amex promo? That's exhausting :(

      • that is correct if you can click and collect. Get 100 wine for $70

  • There is no click and collect option :(.
Is C&C available to only limited stores?

    • +2

      Victorian stores.

  • -1

    No C&C, no deal.

  • Come on folks, we have enough work to do!
