Kmart Christmas Trees $1 to $3 [Kardinya WA]

760

Variety of Christmas trees from $1 to $3 each. The one pictured was labeled at $3 ($49 before Christmas) but the cashier changed the price to $1 so i assume all trees are $1 but just in case I've put $3 in the title. Over 10 in stock of the one pictured plus a few coloured trees and smaller pines that have been labeled and scan at $1 (still a rookie so i can't post all the photos sorry!)

Tinsel (over 10 in stock) cards (limited), labels (limited) and baubles (limited) all $0.20 each.

All wrapping paper (including hallmark) $1 (over 10 in stock including frozen themed paper)

I left at 4:30 (shut at 5) and there was plenty of stock so if you get in early tomorrow morning you could still grab a bargain!

you're 357 days too early for xmas :)

      Storage cost kills the deal.

      • loft?

        • +2

Yeah, I just chuck Christmas stuff into the roof space. Usually next to the leftover tiles from the house build.

        • Won't fit through the opening…

          @jv:

          That's what she said.

        • @jv:
Gotta laugh at the (successful) trolling…. upvotes + complaints …. :)

      • Put it up in the garden till Xmas.
City folks wouldn't know the difference …

      • Storage cost makes the deal possible.

Just got off the phone with Storage King.

It will cost $10 per week for 1 cubic metre of storage…

        • @jv: WOW. You actually agree with me. Didn't see that coming.

        Layby?

Not really, I'm seeing people with xmas decorations up ALREADY! So might as well get in and get the tree, so you're ready for xmas!

  • Time to stock up for this year's christmas!

Is this only for the Kardinya WA store or is it nation wide?

    • +1

I picked up a tree from Rockingham WA, yesterday, would most likley say its Nation Wide, where stock exists

There were some small trees for $3 at Kurralta Park SA. I'd say it's nationwide…

      • Awesome Kurralta Park is my local store anyway so I'm good!

      • They should be a decent size by the end of the year if you keep the water up.

  • Excellent Broden opportunity…

Now is the best time to buy a Christmas decorations. You can use them for next Christmas. This is what I usually do. Even though 357 days feels like a long time, it certainly not. A year will go pass by before you even knew. We had a big family reunion last Christmas (2014). In this Christmas we were quiet surprised how quickly the time has passed. 2015 was really quick, at least for me..

    • Just do what I do them and buy them, feel awesome about your money-saving purchase, then forget in 11 month's time you bought anything at all and buy them again.

These will look great in the garden. Thanks OP.

    • Better get in early! There were quite a few when i left but given the popularity of this deal i would be surprised if they sold out quick in the morning!

    O Christmas tree.

  • Wow i got the tree pictured for $24 a few days ago as there was only two tree left in K-Mart and wanted a new tree.

    • Yeah different kmarts do different sales at different times. Pays to shop around if you have the time.

  • Absolutely no christmas stock left at fountain gate~

  • Any stock from Garden City? There was a lot of stock on Friday but they were still selling for around $12-$15, not sure if they've dropped the price over the weekend.

    • Yesterday morning they were still selling everything for 50% off at Garden City. Last year Garden City had the best Christmas deals but this year they seem to be holding back. Id try Kardinya first as it's not too far from Garden City but i would definitely go at opening time. I've popped in a few times this week and it was the busiest i have seen yesterday but people weren't going crazy. Chances are people will have realized overnight what a bargain that was or tell family members and come back this morning.

      • Yep, there was a shitload of things for half price plus take an additional 50% yesterday at Belmont. I just went there this morning, and everything is 50cents. Things are flying out the door. U can still get tinsel, baubles, and there were 5 beer glasses left.
Midland only had Xmas trees yesterday.
        Morley didn't have much

        • Wow that's not bad! I have been trying to get wrapping paper but still only 50% off at my local kmarts. Not worth the drive for me but thanks for the update!

Still 15 trees at kardinya but they are $3 so looks like i got lucky! Quite a few other trees for $1 though.

        • @lkp: just came back from kardinya and they are $3, the N model is still at $10.

        • @mjjeje: Yeah shame looks like i got lucky although i would have been happy with it for $3.
The G model Columbian tree was $1 and they had a few in stock along with various tinsel trees.

        • @lkp:
There was one tree left at Belmont on Thurs for $24, but I baulked knowing it'll be cheaper
Glad I waited tho. Whilst the tree at Belmont was sold yesterday, I'm happy with paying $6 at Midland, so u got a good deal man.
The assistant at Belmont was tagging everything xmas related 50cents today - not sure if it includes wrapping paper but I would assume so.

        • @mmd: thanks for the heads up :) Belmont is a bit of a trek for me so I'll just try my luck next year i think. Glad to hear everyone's been getting some good bargains!

  • unsure if its the markup on these products that is really high, or they just want to get rid of any christmas stock ASAP, possibly to start making room for easter eggs

    • Most if not all the stuff is from China, so it'll be cheap to make.
But they need to clear the stock for the 'Back to School' promotion.
You have $6 tinsels taking up valuable retail space, where u could be flogging off $12 dollar calculators where there is more demand for it currently (there's a word for it but I cant remember - been out of retail for too long).
This will happen again after every promotion (back to school, easter, tax time, xmas, father's/mother's)/ season clearance (summer/ winter clothes).

      • You have $6 tinsels taking up valuable retail space, where u could be flogging off $12 dollar calculators where there is more demand for it currently (there's a word for it but I cant remember - been out of retail for too long).

IIRC, the term is called retail space. You're paying rent/ staff/ bills so u need to sell sell sell. You could have sold tinsel for $6 before xmas, but now it's occupying dead space where you could be selling calculators/books/ pens etc (with high profit margins)

  • guess thats all true too. in another thread i think target was selling $60 christmas hampers for around $3 lol
