How about a deal again on EVO+ 64GB?

It looks like they're re-stocked now, after being sold out last week.

  • +2

It's crazy how low these are dropping. Bought my evo 32GB many months back for this price.

  • +5

Might give it a pass this time TA - I still have 5 unopened 128GB mSD cards, all from your past deals

    Great deal though…

    • +6

How much money have you thrown down the toilet by purchasing 5x 128gb cards (that you obviously didn't even need) over the last few months as they continue to drop hard in prices?

      • +20
        1. I need them for my tablet, phone, and DAP, they all still have 64GB in them, I haven't been bothered to replace them yet.
        2. A true OzB don't ask questions…just click through and buy :)
        • +6

True but it gets to the point where you aren't saving money, but losing money

    • +1

What are you going to use the SD card for? backup your photos?

      • Tablet, phone, and DAP mate, so I would use 4 of them + 1 spare…

  • Edit silly me

  • +1

Great! Got one for my new Nikon D3300, this deal is even better than the PC Byte deal as it includes an SD card adapter as well

  • +1

    Have to resist

  • +2

Don't forget this is the 48MB/s version, not the 80 (Evo+). Still a great deal!

    • So what's the 80 one used for?

Would this 48MB/s version be sufficient for recording HD videos? 1920x1080

      • +1

If you're just recording Full HD, it would be perfectly sufficient

        • Thanks mate, needed one for my Action Camera :D

        • +3

          @montorola:

The write speeds are pretty much identical for the 2 cards, so the 80MB/s one won't make a difference (they both write around 20-25MB/s).

        • @donnot: Where would it make a difference then? What's the benefit with Evo+ version?

        • @donnot: from my source, evo writes 15MB/s

        • @virhlpool:

Only main difference is the 'max' read speeds, so if you're just using it in a phone, or as basic storage for a tablet, you probably won't notice the difference between the two. Might notice if you're doing read-heavy tasks such as editing media from it (which nobody would do), or using it as an OS drive etc…

        • @Azn310:

I just got my figures from here http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2471083,00.asp -running Crystaldiskmark, but 15-20 would probably be more realistic in a real-life scenario.

  • Is it class 10?

  • +2

I wants the 128GB one but don't understand why it cost more than twice the price of the 64GB one, have bought 2 of the 64GB one in last sale, so will skip this one.

    • +2

Say if you know two girls who look ok and you can take them out to dinner for $100 individually. Then there is this hot babe, twice as beautiful. You think you can take her out for $200? You stand no chance against her sugar daddy. lol

  • if you are after 80Mb/s micro sd card, you might want to buy a Sandisk 64Gb at Post Office for $29.99 instead or beat by 5% at OW

    • I did think about it, but it wasn't worth the effort of visiting a store for me.

    • That seems very cheap for a local store?

    • I believe 80Mb/s is the read speed. Write speed will be much lower than that and this will affect what you can use it for.

  • +3

    use code "EXPRESSARSE" :p

    • That's amazing!! lol

You answered my question (see below) in the time it took me to type my question.

    • Can you please share a link to Auspost for 64GB card? Thanks :)

  • How do you get free shipping?

    Price is $25.95

    Aus Post, Couriers ($8.95)

    • In check out it should refund the postage

      • I used tomleonhart's code

        • +1

          No code needed :P

          Sub Total $25.95

Shipping Cost To Post Code 0832 $14.95
          Discounts Applied
PowerOfFlash free shipping Remove Coupon PowerOfFlash -$14.95
          Discount Total -$14.95
          GSTInc. $2.36
          Shopping Cart Total
          $25.95

        • @live_1991:

You're probably right, but I wasn't going to proceed to the check out whilst the postage fee was there :)

        • +1

@JB1: It's all on the same page. The postage fee is an option down the bottom, but if you scroll back up to the top right, it's listed in the summary.

  • skip this one and will be waiting for a 32GB great deal for my new lumia 640… TA, thanks for the deal anyway!

      • Any idea whats the write speed on this one?

        • Samsung EVO is slightly faster write speed than the Sandisk Ultra based on 32GB versions (20MBps vs 18MBps).

Note: some devices just don't like the Sandisk cards, but have no problems with Samsung.

        • @not a bargain:
reading a review (the first first I found for this 11A model as most reviews are the 46A model card which is slower), says Using USB 2.0 got a write speed of 16.661 MB/s … USB 3.0 the write speed was 19.889 MB/s .
Sandisk dont say anything for write speeds.

        • about 20MB/s write.

      • Thanks for that, PVA. Was also on the lookout for a good 32GB deal. Anyone know of any free shipping codes for PC Byte?

        • its only 2.95 to ship though.

      • Thanks for the link, but I don't need a fast one for the phone, will wait the deal for a cheap one :)

  • Can anyone recommend a FAST USB3 - Micro SD adapter?
    Thanks

  • I believe you are right TA > believe this is the cheapest yet on OzB for Aussie stock Same as previous deal :)

  • Good timing! thanks OP

  • +1

I believe the Ultra on sale at Australia Post for $29.90 (pricematch officeworks $28) is faster than this card?

    • Can confirm. The 64 Sandisk is 80MB/s, 32 isn't. Not sure if the OW model is the newer/older one.

      • The OW model I picked up was 48MB/s. I think it depends on the store though as others have reported getting the 80 from both AusPost and Officeworks.

      • they have wrong description on website (officeworks), says….It transfers at fast speeds of up to 30 MB/s and MicroSDHC

  • Which one is good 64gb auspost or this one?

    • Officeworks

    • +1

      PROS:

      cheaper,
      delivered free
      anecdotally compatible with more devices

      CONS

slightly slower read (similar write speeds)

      • Champ! This is what I was looking for and I had to read so many comments to reach here! You are a gem. Thanks for clearly stating the differences.

    • This review will give you an idea of the speed both read/write:
      http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2471083,00.asp

I would say write speed is the important factor.

  • How is this compare with LEXAR 64GB the $35 catchoftheday?

    • +1

      it shows 32GB for $35

      • Yeah the 64GB sold out…..just realised.

  • +2

Just saying. In China, Normal price is 99 Chinese Yuan/ 20 AUD for the same product. I just realized SD card is so expensive in Australia.
    http://item.jd.com/1034642.html#product-detail

    • Looks good. Does this website has english version?

    • It's even cheaper in the US at times. Australia is generally quite expensive for these goods as with electronics.

  • Has anyone tried speed testing between using Micro-SDs on their own against using the packaged adapter?

I found this video on youtube claiming there is no difference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_UldBhVH00

Would like to get the 64GB for my A6000 but obviously would need to put the adapter to use.

    • The adapter is just a direct extension of the existing contacts. It shouldn't make a difference. A usb reader would make a difference though.

    • +1

Would like to get the 64GB for my A6000 but obviously would need to put the adapter to use.

      Evo is 20MB/s.
If you're using an A6000 on RAW + Burst shooting you'd want a faster card or you'll be waiting a while for the buffer to clear.
If you're shooting JPEGs it should be fine.
A RAW file from an a6000 is around 24MB per file (even bigger if you want RAW + Jpeg)
If it's for slow-shooting stills it should be fine.

  • Tried to get the Aust Post deal but had no luck. All was lost until this came up. Thanks OP!

  • +1 because I bought it during the sale last week and it arrived today safe n sound, quickly and in full retail packaging. I've always had good experiences with ShoppingExpress. And for the money it's a great buy, perfect for my Action Cam so I can run extra long video and timelapses.

    • evo+ would do an even better job

      • Nope, the card is faster than the camera needs. As long as it's reliable that's what I want. If you need the faster transfer rates then sure, go for it. But for stuff I'm mucking around with, it's no difference.

  • Guys does it make a huge deal if you use one of these cards in a mobile phone for extra storage [i.e. note 4]. Is this a good card for it?

    Cheers

    • +1

I have a 32gb evo in my tablet. I don't see any issues. You won't notice any difference in the mobile phone with this card. I use the 64gb evo in my blackvue dashcam and it seems to live upto the constant recording and heat.

      • Thanks Kei, just grabbed one.

  • Any chance we can get the Pro/Pro+ cards on sale? The faster write would be great

  • I have not received my EVO+ from last sale yet so I will hold off on this for now. =(

    • +1

I received mine today in the mail.

    • Same here, still waiting for mine

  • Hi. Is this a good card to use in my 13" MacBook Pro Retina as additional storage? Or is the sandisk @ auspost better? Looking to storeiPhoto and iTunes libraries, and free up my ssd.
