Unblock USA Netflix with uFlix - $16 for 12 Months OzBargain Special - Australia Day Special

1430
unblockme

EDIT: ENDS MIDNIGHT TONIGHT - 29/01/2016.

Hi everyone,

Over the last few days we have been hearing news that a lot of people still can't access USA Netflix. The OzBargain community has always been good to us, and we enjoy conversing with the community. For that reason we are running a special for you guys who may still be blocked. Even if you are already a member you can take advantage of this deal.

We are going to run a special starting today and ending Friday, 29th Jan. The deal is $16 AUD for 12 months of our service. All you need to do is use the coupon code "unblockme" when checking out and the deal will be applied to your account.

As usual, we will be here throughout the day to answer any questions you may have, or just general chat about what has been going on recently.

Thanks!

I'd it was free they'd have to post it in the forums not in deals :p

  • Is there any problem trying the free trial out for a couple of days and then if all seems to be working ok, then upgrading to this offer? Sounds like it's worth a good look, thanks!

    • Hi,

Yes you can. The offer ends on Friday, so you will need to make a decision by then. But yes, if you use it until Friday without paying it will work.

      Thanks.

  • Hi there, will I be able to stream from devices through my chromecast?

    • +1

      Hi,

Only if your router supports static routes.

      Thanks.

    • If you have root on your chromecast or have an openwrt/DDWRT router or other Linux based router you have root access to and supports iptables forwarding then yes.

      • Lol can you say that again in English please? I have an asus rt-ac68u

        • Log into your router via its admin panel. Once there search for "Static Routes". If the option is there, follow the instructions at https://uflix.com.au/troubleshooting

That should get the Chromecast running :)

          Thanks.

  • do i need a netflix account first?

    • Hi,

Yes. You will need an active Netflix account.

      Thanks.

  • Just a question. I'm currently watching Netflix quota free because I am with iiNet. Will using this (whatever this is) mean that it won't be quota free anymore and will waste data?

    • +1

      Hi,

If you are accessing non-Australian Netflix it will count towards your quota. If you select "Turn Off" in your uFlix region selector, it will default back to AU Netflix and will not count towards your quota.

      Thanks.

      • Ah thanks for clarifying. I only have 20GB a month of data so will give this a miss.

        • +1

          Hi,

Yeah, 20GB will be cutting it too close. Sorry about that.

          Thanks.

    • check your plan options, internode have an option to increase the usage but remove the freezone, and it's not a small increase went from 20gb to 50gb (parents) or 300gb to 500gb (my plan). Was worth changing to metered as i tend to watch a lot of stuff on uflix which is all metered anyway.

      • Thanks, i will check it out.

    • What plan are you on?

I remember when netflix came out, all iinet plans got quota free netflix.

Iinet stopped that. But not sure if they just stopped offering it on new plans, or took it away from the smaller plans that they'd given it to

(I'm debating whether I upgrade my plan, I don't have netflix.. yet. The iinet website doesn't say clearly either.)

Edit: oh, 20gb. So they mustn't have taken it away from users.

I've been using uflix for months and highly recommend (for the price you cannot beat it!!!). I rarely use the US region as the other regions seem to have a season more of my shows. Yes we've had issues in the last few days but UK came back fully available last night.

The only inconvenience is that my IP address changes every day or two so I have to update my ip address with uflix - takes about 5 seconds if I keep my uflix account page open on a browser permanently. That is unavoidable with a dynamic IP address.

    • Hi,

Thanks very much for the kind feedback :D We are happy that you are happy with our service :)

      Thanks.

  • So with a proxy your internet speed can be slowed down (lots more buffering), with this it wont be and you can access other regions?

is it easy to swap between regions, after you change the settings on console to you need to turn them off to play games without being affected (region matching for online gaming etc)?

    • Hi,

It will only proxy specific things to keep your internet untouched for the most part. The stream from Netflix is direct to your network, it does not go through our servers at all.

Yes, switching is easy. In your uFlix panel just select the region and apply it. Restart your device and you are good to go.

      Thanks.

  • Not sure the problem is fixed.Signed up this morning and getting the geo-blocking error on US Netflix using WD Live?

    • Hi,

Can you please submit a support ticket so we can look into the issue you are having.

      Thanks.

      • Already done mate, thanks for the fast reply.

        • No problem.

        • +1

          @uFlix:
Just a heads up people. I put in a support ticket on this about 20 minutes before I posted on here and already had a reply on the ticket. Awesome support Uflix.

BTW the problem appears to be on the WD LIve as Netflix USA is working on my PC, apparently a few others are having the same problem.

        • @madreece: Thanks very much :)

        • +1

          @madreece:

Did you get Netflix US working on your WD Live? If so, was there anything special you needed to do?

        • @mckennal:
No luck at all. Tried factory reset but that hasn't fixed the problem.
Support said there are only a few such cases and they can't replicate the problem?

        • @madreece:
Thx for letting me know. :(

        • @madreece:

Just to follow this up. We are going to be spending the weekend trying to figure out the WD problem. We have not been able to replicate the error so far, but I am sure support will work it out. Please submit a ticket on Sunday night to receive an update for it.

          Thanks.

        • @uFlix:
Once again people, look at my first comment about awesome support. These guys are unbelievable.

  • Great deal.. just cancelled my Unblock-Us service which was $5 a month and got this. However I dont anticipate using it much as I PC game more but its nice to have the option there.

    Thanks for the deal OP!

    • You're welcome! Welcome to uFlix.

      Thanks.

    • +6

Thanks for that :) By the way, for future reference, we are a legal company.

      Thanks.

it was an obvious joke but not obviously

  • I'm an existing subscriber, so unfortunately can't take advantage of this since the subscription won't stack and I still have 5 months left from the last deal. I would like to say however, after 7 months of the service thus far that I would highly recommend them. Easy to switch regions, and turn off if necessary with the click of a button. Occasionally you will need to login to your account and refresh IP settings which is only a minor inconvenience. Simple, fairly priced, and does what you need it to.

    • Thank you very much for the feedback :) We are going to have some deals for existing customers for our new service though, so keep an eye out for that.

      Thanks.

  • Just signed up but didn't have the option to add the coupon code. May be cause I signed up from my phone. Help plz

    • Hi,

You will see the coupon field when you purchase a subscription.

      Thanks.

  • I am so tempted and ready to ink a deal! How can i set it up from my smarttv though as i could not find this info from your website. Thanks in anticipation!

    • +1

      Hi,

If your smart TV has the feature, add our DNS within its settings. If not, please set our DNS directly in your router. If you run into an issue, please submit a support ticket.

      Thanks.

      • Works like a charm! Thank you uflix!! Binge watch officially starts now!!!!!

        • Excellent :) Have a great night! Enjoy.

  • Can I use this with premierleaguepass to watch the EPL?

    • Hi,

No, we do not support that. Sorry.

      Thanks.

  • +1

    Highly recommended!

    • Thank you very much!

  • Hey Rep, a noobie question. I currently default to my TPG's standard DNS servers. If I were to change this at my router level, will there be any cons at all? I have the option to change on a per device basis where available, so that would be my first option.

    • There should not be any cons at all. But yes, you can change it on the device level if the option is available.

      Thanks.

  • Did not realize hola was that vulnerable, been using it for quite a while. Is the threat really that real? Anyone in the same boat as me in stopping and using uflix?

    • +1

Hola is a VPN, so all of your traffic is going through exit nodes. However, you yourself become an exit node when using the software. In my opinion that is dangerous as someone can do illegal things and you will be the one getting blamed.

That's not to say not to use it. But I never would.

      Thanks.

  • So u will give us like different dns for every region ? How you switch from us to UK netflix ?

    • Hi,

You just go into your uFlix panel and select your region and press "apply". The rest is automatic.

      Thanks.

  • Amazon Prime?

    • Hi,

Sorry, but we don't have that available.

      Thanks.

  • Couple of questions…

If I want Netflix in different regions do I need multiple Netflix accounts or just update the region on uflix to access different region content?

Also does it work with HBO?

    • Hi,

Just one Netflix account. This does not work with HBO, it is only a lite unblocker.

      Thanks.

  • Will this work on Android devices like Shield TV? Only need to change DNS?

    • Should do. Give it a shot. It is free until you make the purchase. Note - You will only have until Friday to pay using the coupon, otherwise it will be $20 for 12 months.

      Thanks.

  • Works a treat, too easy, thanks!

    • Great :) Welcome aboard.

      Thanks.

  • +1

Been using this for 7-8 months and highly recommend. Have it on my LG smart TV and I switch regions all the time. Keep up the great service.

    • Hi,

Thank you very much for the kind feedback! We are happy that you are happy with the service.

      Thanks.

  • Which regions does Uflix have access to?

    • USA
      UK
      Germany
      Canada

We will add a handful more over time, but it will not be like major unblockers.

      Thanks.

  • Netflix will block your account if they found out that you are accessing it through vpn or proxy

    http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2016/01/netflix-is-already-blockin…

    • +1

No they don't. They block the stream. We already bypassed it. We did an interview with SMH and every other newspaper misquoted what we said.

      Thanks.

  • I'm a UFLIX subscriber, but I got a new modem from iinet and can no longer figure out how to update the DNS settings.

It's some IINET branded technicolor garbage.

    Cheers

    • Hi,

Ring iiNet and see if they can help you with it. Their new modems may not support it, I am not sure.

      Thanks.

  • Signed up, set up DNS on android, works fine on phone, but when i go to share with chromecast it has trouble playing titles. pls help? (oh im talking about netflix btw)

  • netflix n chill all day

  • Awesome deal! I have just signed up. Thanks OP!

    • You're welcome! Welcome aboard.

      Thanks.

  • Great. I can even use bitcoin to pay.

  • Does anyone know how to set this up on a Sony smart tv?

    • +1

Go to your menu and select network setting and manually change your dns. mine is a samsung but they shouldnt be much different :)

  • Though your site says my dns is wrong and needs updating, even after doing so. It works thus far so great! Just using trial at the moment but all goes well may come onto your service as I tried others and they failed. Shame bout no lifetime deals but I can live with that as who knows though i'd like to hear more about your new 'sister' site, for example whats the difference between this and that site etc.

Thanks for the heads up, shame it only a $4 saving but guess it is a saving..

    Cheers!

    • Hi,

We won't ever run lifetime deals. The reason for this is because it is simply not sustainable. We offer what we can, when we can.

The checker to throw a false-positive is strange. Please submit a support ticket so we can look into it.

As far as the sister service, we will be unblocking more channels, allow multiple authorised IP's, a bunch of features for advanced users, apps for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac, and we will also be offering VPN's. It is a huge system and we are working on it.

      Thanks.

  • Can I watch US Netflix on my Samsung TV using uFlix? I can change the DNS on my router, do I need to change any region settings in Netflix as well? Sorry for my ignorance.

    • Hi,

Yes, it should work on most devices. You will not need to change any settings on your Netflix account. You can either change the DNS in your router directly or on specific devices.

      Thanks.

  • Bought earlier today, changed settings in my Apple TV as per easy instructions, been working great so far. Thanks rep

    • Great :) Welcome to uFlix :D

  • can i ask, whats the main advantage of uFlix over Hola!?
are they essentially the same thing? or is uFlix more superior in some way?
    thanks!

    • Hola is a full VPN that will proxy all your traffic.
uFlix is a smart proxy that will proxy very little of your traffic.

      Rule of thumb;

VPN = Keep me safe online and hide my activities.
uFlix = Keep my internet as it is and let me watch more Netflix.

Having said that, if you are going to use a VPN, please purchase one from the many VPN companies. Hola uses you as an exit node which leaves your network open to abuse.

      Thanks.

  • I currently pay for "Private Internet Access" which I use for privacy. I don't have Netflix currently but want to get it - will PIA allow me to access Netflix or do I need to pay for an additional service like uflix?

    • +1

      Hi,

You will need to ask PIA what they are doing about the Netflix blocks. If they are getting around them then it will work. If they are not taking measures to get around the block, it will not work.

      Thanks.

  • I don't use Netflix but can I use this like a VPN service?

    • Hi,

No. We are not a VPN service. Our sister-service which will be launching at a later date will offer VPN's, but uFlix is not a VPN.

      Thanks.

  • Just signed up and working. thanks!

    • You're welcome :) Thanks for joining :)

  • Does this work on mobile devices like iPads?

    • It sure does :)

      • Thanks for the quick reply, if I have three devices, do I need three uflix account seeing that I need to provide my IP address?

        • I suspect it's one per IP address, so if all three (or more) devices connects to the Internet via the same modem router, then just one account will suffice.

        • Hi,

No. We work off your networks IP address. It will set the uFlix region on all devices with out DNS.

          Thanks.

  • How many devices can I use on the uflix?
We have 2 smart tvs, 3 cell phones, iPad and tablet and 3 laptops in our household…..
(Netflix works on all of them…..)

    • Hi,

You can use it on all of your devices.

      Thanks.
